00:04The words of the prophet Joel, chapter 2, verse 13.
00:11Rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God.
00:18For he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repented him of the evil.
00:31Dearly beloved brethren, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our manifold sins and wickedness.
00:42But that we should not disassemble, nor clave them before the face of Almighty God our Heavenly Father.
00:51But confess them, with a humble, lowly, penitent, and obedient heart, to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of
01:02the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:07And although we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our sins before God, yet ought we chiefly so to
01:15do,
01:16when we assemble and meet together, to render thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:23To set forth his most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are
01:32requisite and necessary, as well for the body as the soul.
01:39Wherefore I pray and beseech you, as many as are here present, to accompany me with a pure heart and
01:47humble voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, saying after me.
01:55Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep.
02:04We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:11We have offended against thy holy laws.
02:16We have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things we ought
02:23not to have done, and there is no health in us.
02:29But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders.
02:35Spare thou them, O God, who confess their faults, or restore thou those who are penitent.
02:41Spare thou them, O God, according to thy promises declared unto mankind, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
02:49And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life.
02:59To the glory of thy holy name. Amen.
03:06Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who desireth not the death of a sinner,
03:13but rather that he turn from his wickedness and live,
03:18and has given power and commandment to his ministers to declare and pronounce to his people,
03:25being penitent, the absolution and remission of their sins,
03:32he pardoneth and absolveth all who truly repent, and unfaimly believe his holy gospel.
03:42Wherefore, let us beseech him to grant us true repentance, and his Holy Spirit,
03:49that those things may please him which we do at this present,
03:53and that the rest of our life hereafter may be pure and holy,
03:58so that at the last we may come to his eternal joy,
04:03through Jesus Christ our Lord.
04:08Amen.
04:12Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
04:16Thy kingdom come.
04:18Thy will be done as it is in heaven.
04:22Give us this day our daily bread,
04:25and forgive us our trespasses,
04:28as we forgive them that trespass against us.
04:31And lead us not into temptation,
04:33but deliver us from evil,
04:36for thine is the kingdom,
04:38the power and the glory,
04:40for ever and ever.
04:42Amen.
04:46O Lord, open our lips,
04:49and our mouth shall show forth thy praise.
04:55O God, make speed to save us.
04:59O Lord, make haste to help us.
05:05Glory be to the Father,
05:06and to the Son,
05:07and to the Holy Ghost,
05:09as it was in the beginning,
05:11is now, and ever shall be,
05:14world without end.
05:16Amen.
05:20Praise ye the Lord.
05:22The Lord's name be praised.
05:27O come, let us sing unto the Lord,
05:30and let us heartily rejoice
05:32in the strength of our salvation.
05:36Let us come before his presence
05:38with thanksgiving,
05:40and show ourselves glad in him with psalms.
05:44For the Lord is a great God,
05:46and a great King above all gods.
05:50In his hand are all the corners of the earth,
05:52and the strength of the hills is his also.
05:57The sea is his,
05:58and he made it,
05:59and his hands prepared the dry land.
06:03O come, let us worship and hold home,
06:06and kneel before the Lord,
06:08our Maker.
06:10For he is the Lord, our God,
06:12and we are the people of his pasture,
06:15and the sheep of his hand.
06:19Today, if you will hear his voice,
06:22harden not your hearts,
06:23as in the provocation,
06:25and as in the day of temptation,
06:28in the wilderness,
06:30when our fathers tempted us,
06:33proved us, and saw our works.
06:37Forty years long I was grieved
06:39with this generation,
06:40and said it is a people
06:41that do err in their hearts,
06:44and they have not known my ways.
06:48Unto whom I swore in my wrath
06:50that they should not enter into my rest.
06:55Glory be to the Father,
06:57and to the Son,
06:57and to the Holy Ghost.
06:59As it was in the beginning,
07:01he is now, and ever shall be,
07:04world without end.
07:06Amen.
07:14Psalm 6
07:16I will magnify thee, O Lord,
07:19for thou hast set me up,
07:21and not made my foes to triumph over me.
07:24O Lord my God, I cried unto thee,
07:27and thou hast healed me.
07:30Thou, Lord, hast brought my soul
07:33out of hell.
07:34Thou hast kept my life
07:36from them that go down to the pit.
07:39Sing praises unto the Lord,
07:41O ye saints of his.
07:43Give thanks unto him
07:44for a remembrance of his holiness.
07:48For his wrath endureth
07:50but for the twinkling of one eye,
07:52and in his pleasure is life.
07:55Heaviness may endure for a night
07:57where joy cometh in the morning.
08:01And in my prosperity, I said,
08:04I shall never be removed.
08:06Thou, Lord of thy goodness,
08:09hast made my hill so strong.
08:12Thou didst turn thy face from me,
08:15and I was troubled.
08:18Then cried I unto thee, O Lord,
08:22and gat me to my Lord right humbly.
08:26What profit is there in my blood
08:29when I go down to the pit?
08:33Shall the dust give thanks unto thee,
08:35or shall it declare thy truth?
08:39Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon thee.
08:42Lord, be thou my helper.
08:45Thou hast turned my heaviness into joy.
08:48Thou hast put off my sackcloth,
08:50and girded me with gladness.
08:54Therefore shall every good man
08:56sing of thy praise without ceasing.
08:59O my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
09:04Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
09:07and to the Holy Ghost,
09:08as it was in the beginning,
09:10is now, and ever shall be,
09:12world without end.
09:14Amen.
09:18Psalm 31
09:21In thee, O Lord, have I put my trust.
09:24Let me never be put to confusion.
09:27Deliver me in thy righteousness.
09:31Bow down thine ear to me.
09:33Make haste to deliver me.
09:35And be thou my strong rock
09:37and house of defence,
09:39that thou mayest save me.
09:41For thou art my strong rock
09:44and my castle.
09:45Be thou also my guide,
09:47and lead me for thy name's sake.
09:51Draw me out of the net
09:53that they have laid privily for me.
09:55For thou art my strength.
09:58Into thy hands I commend my spirit.
10:02For thou hast redeemed me,
10:04O Lord, thou God of truth.
10:07I have hated them that hold
10:09of superstitious vanities,
10:11and my trust hath been in the Lord.
10:14I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy,
10:17for thou hast considered my trouble,
10:20and hast known my soul in adversities.
10:24Thou hast not shut me up in the hand of the enemy,
10:28but hast set my feet in a large room.
10:33Have mercy upon me, O Lord,
10:35for I am in trouble,
10:36and mine eye is consumed
10:39for very heaviness,
10:41yea, my soul and my body.
10:44For my life is waxen old with heaviness,
10:47and my years with mourning.
10:51My strength faileth me
10:53because of mine iniquity,
10:55and my bones are consumed.
10:58I became a reproof
11:00amongst all thine enemies,
11:03but especially amongst my neighbours,
11:06and they of mine acquaintance
11:07were afraid of me,
11:08and they did see me
11:10without conveying themselves from me.
11:15I am clean and forgotten
11:17as a dead man out of mine.
11:20I am become like a broken vessel,
11:24for I have heard the blasphemy of the multitude,
11:27and fear is on every side,
11:29while they conspire together against me,
11:31and take their counsel
11:33to take away my life.
11:36As my hope has been in thee, O Lord,
11:39I have said,
11:40Thou art my God.
11:42My time is in thy hand.
11:45Deliver me from the hand of mine enemies,
11:48and from them that persecute me.
11:52Show thy servant
11:53the light of thy countenance,
11:55and save me for thy mercy's sake.
11:59Let me not be confounded, O Lord,
12:02for I have called upon thee.
12:04Let the ungodly be put to confusion,
12:07and be put to silence in the grave.
12:12Let the lying lips be put to silence,
12:15which cruelly, disdainfully,
12:17and despitefully
12:18speak against the righteous.
12:21O how plentiful is thy goodness,
12:24which thou hast laid up for them
12:26that fear thee,
12:27and that thou hast prepared for them
12:30and put their trust in thee,
12:33even before the sons of men.
12:37Thou shalt hide them frivolously
12:39by thine own presence
12:41from the provoking of all men.
12:43Thou shalt keep them secretly
12:46in thy tabernacle
12:47from the strife of tongues.
12:50Thanks be to the Lord,
12:52for he hath showed me
12:54marvellous great kindness
12:55in a strong city.
12:57And when I made haste, I said,
13:00I am cast out of the sight
13:02of thine eyes.
13:05Nevertheless, thou heardest
13:06the voice of my prayer
13:08when I cried unto thee.
13:10I love the Lord,
13:12all ye his saints,
13:14for the Lord preserves
13:15them that are faithful
13:16and plenteously rewarded
13:18the proud viewer.
13:21Be strong,
13:22and he shall establish
13:23your heart,
13:25all ye that put your trust
13:27in the Lord.
13:29glory be to the Father
13:31and to the Son
13:32and to the Holy Ghost,
13:33as it was in the beginning,
13:36is now,
13:36and ever shall be,
13:38world without end.
13:40Amen.
13:44The prophet Jonah,
13:46chapter 3.
13:49Yahweh's word came to Jonah
13:50the second time,
13:52saying,
13:53Arise and go to Nineveh,
13:55that great city,
13:57preach to it the message
13:58that I give you.
14:01So Jonah arose
14:02and went to Nineveh,
14:04according to Yahweh's word.
14:07Now Nineveh was an exceedingly
14:09great city,
14:10three days' journey across.
14:13Jonah began to enter
14:15into the city
14:15a day's journey
14:16and he cried out,
14:18In forty days,
14:20Nineveh will be overthrown.
14:24The people of Nineveh
14:26believed God
14:26and they proclaimed a fast,
14:28put on sackcloth,
14:30from their greatest
14:31even to their least.
14:34The news reached
14:36the king of Nineveh
14:37and he arose
14:37from his throne,
14:39took off his royal robes
14:40and covered himself
14:41in sackcloth
14:42and sat in ashes.
14:45He made a proclamation
14:47published through Nineveh
14:49by the decree of the king
14:50and his nobles,
14:51saying,
14:52Let neither man
14:53nor animal
14:54hurt nor flock
14:55taste anything.
14:57Let them not feed
14:58nor drink water,
14:59but let them be covered
15:01with sackcloth,
15:02both man and animal,
15:03and let them cry out
15:06mightily to God.
15:08Yes, let everyone
15:09turn from his evil way
15:11and from the violence
15:13that is in his hands.
15:16Who knows whether God
15:18will not turn and relent,
15:20turning away from his fierce
15:22anger that we may not perish.
15:26God saw their works
15:28that they had turned away
15:29from their evil
15:31and relented
15:32of the disaster
15:33which he said
15:34he would do to them
15:36and he didn't do it.
15:39this is the word
15:41of the Lord.
15:43Thanks be to God.
15:50We praise thee, O God.
15:52We acknowledge thee
15:53to be the Lord.
15:55All the earth
15:56does worship thee,
15:58the Father everlasting.
16:00To thee all angels
16:03cry aloud,
16:04the heavens
16:05and all the powers
16:06therein.
16:08To thee,
16:09cherubim and seraphim
16:10continually do cry,
16:13Holy,
16:14Holy,
16:14Holy,
16:15Lord God of Sabaoth,
16:17heaven and earth
16:19are full
16:19of the majesty
16:21of thy glory.
16:23The glorious company
16:25of the apostles
16:26praise thee.
16:27The goodly fellowship
16:29of the prophets
16:30praise thee.
16:32The noble army
16:33of martyrs
16:34praise thee.
16:36The Holy Church
16:38throughout all the world
16:39does acknowledge thee.
16:41The Father
16:42of an infinite majesty,
16:44thine honourable,
16:46true and only Son.
16:48Also the Holy Ghost,
16:50the Comforter.
16:52Thou art the King
16:53of glory,
16:54O Christ.
16:55Thou art the everlasting
16:57Son of the Father.
17:00When thou tookest upon thee
17:02to deliver man,
17:03thou didst not abel
17:05the virgin's womb.
17:07For thou hast overcome
17:09the sharpness of death,
17:11thou didst open
17:12the kingdom of heaven
17:13to all believers.
17:16Thou sittest at the right hand
17:18of God
17:19in the glory of the Father.
17:20we believe that thou shalt come
17:24to be our judge.
17:26We therefore pray thee,
17:28help thy servants,
17:30whom thou hast redeemed
17:31with thy precious blood.
17:34Make them to be numbered
17:35with thy sights
17:36in glory everlasting.
17:40O Lord,
17:41save thy people
17:42and bless
17:43thine heritage.
17:45Govern them
17:45and lift them
17:46and lift them up
17:47for ever.
17:48Day by day
17:50we magnify thee,
17:52and we worship
17:53thy name
17:54ever world
17:55without end.
17:57Vouchsafe, O Lord,
17:58to keep us
17:59this day
17:59without sin.
18:01Lord,
18:02have mercy upon us,
18:04have mercy upon us.
18:06Lord,
18:07let thy mercy
18:08lighten upon us
18:09as our trust
18:10is in thee.
18:13O Lord,
18:13in thee
18:14have I trusted.
18:15Let me never
18:16be confounded.
18:19Glory be to the Father
18:21and to the Son
18:21and to the Holy Spirit
18:23as it was
18:24in the beginning
18:25is now
18:26and ever shall be
18:28world without end.
18:30Amen.
18:36The epistle
18:37to the Ephesians
18:39chapter 6
18:42Finally,
18:43be strong
18:43in the Lord
18:44and in the strength
18:45of his might.
18:47Put on
18:47the whole armour
18:48of God
18:49that you may be able
18:50to stand
18:51against the wiles
18:52of the devil.
18:53For our wrestling
18:55is not against
18:56flesh and blood
18:57but against
18:58the principalities
18:59and powers
19:01against the world's
19:02rulers
19:03of the darkness
19:04of this age
19:05and against
19:06the spiritual
19:07forces of wickedness
19:08in the heavenly places.
19:11therefore put on
19:12the whole armour
19:13of God
19:14that you may be able
19:15to withstand
19:16in the evil day
19:17and having done
19:19all
19:19to stand.
19:21Stand therefore
19:23having the utility
19:24belt of truth
19:25buckled around
19:26your waist
19:26with the breastplate
19:28of righteousness
19:29and your feet
19:31fitted with the preparation
19:32of the good news
19:33of peace.
19:35Above all
19:36taking up the shield
19:37of faith
19:37with which you will
19:39be able to quench
19:40all the fiery darts
19:41of the evil one
19:43and take the helmet
19:44of salvation
19:45and the sword
19:46of the spirit
19:47which is the word
19:48of God
19:50with all prayer
19:51and requests
19:52praying at all times
19:54in the spirit
19:54and be watchful
19:56to this end
19:57in all perseverance
19:59and requests
20:00for all the saints.
20:02On my behalf
20:04that utterance
20:05may be given to me
20:06in opening my mouth
20:07to make known
20:09with boldness
20:10the mystery
20:10of the good news
20:12for which I
20:13am an ambassador
20:14in chains
20:17that in it
20:18I might speak
20:19boldly
20:20as though
20:21I ought to speak
20:25but that you
20:26also may know
20:27my affairs
20:27and how I am doing
20:31Tychicus
20:31the beloved brother
20:32and faithful servant
20:33in the Lord
20:34will make known
20:35to you all things
20:36who I have sent
20:38to you
20:39for this very purpose
20:40that you may know
20:41our state
20:42and that he may
20:43comfort your hearts
20:45peace be to the brothers
20:47and love
20:48with faith
20:49from God the Father
20:50and the Lord
20:52Jesus Christ

20:55with all those
20:56who love
20:56our Lord Jesus Christ

21:02is the word
21:03of the Lord
21:05thanks
21:05be to God
21:14blessed be
21:15the Lord
21:16God of Israel
21:16for he
21:18hath visited
21:18and redeemed
21:19his people
21:21and hath
21:22raised up
21:22a mighty salvation
21:23for us
21:24in the house
21:25of his servant
21:26David
21:28as he spake
21:29by the mouth
21:30of his holy prophets
21:31which have
21:32since been
21:32since the world
21:33began
21:34that we
21:35shall be saved
21:36from our enemies
21:37and from the hand
21:38of all
21:39that hate us
21:40to perform
21:42the mercy
21:43promised
21:43to our forefathers
21:44and to remember
21:46his holy covenant
21:47to perform
21:49the oath
21:49which he swore
21:50to our forefather
21:51Abraham
21:52that he would
21:53give us
21:54that would be
21:55delivered
21:56out of the hand
21:57of our enemies
21:58might serve him
21:59without fear
22:01holiness
22:01and righteousness
22:02before him
22:03all the days
22:05of our life
22:07and thou
22:08child
22:09shall be called
22:09the prophet
22:10of the highest
22:11for thou shalt
22:12go before
22:13the face
22:13of the Lord
22:14to prepare
