00:04The words of the prophet Ezekiel
00:07Chapter 18 verse 27
00:12When the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness
00:15that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful
00:19and right, he shall save his soul alive.
00:27Dearly beloved brethren, the scripture moves us in sundry places
00:32to acknowledge and confess our manifold sins and wickedness,
00:39but that we should not disassemble nor clave them
00:43before the face of Almighty God our Heavenly Father,
00:47but confess them with a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart,
00:54to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same
00:58by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:03And although we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our sins before God,
01:09yet ought we chiefly so to do
01:12when we assemble and meet together
01:14to render thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:20To set forth his most worthy phrase
01:22to hear his most holy word
01:26and to ask those things which are requisite and necessary
01:30as well for the body as the soul.
01:35Wherefore I pray and beseech you, as many as are here present,
01:39to accompany me with a pure heart and humble voice
01:44to the throne of the heavenly grace
01:47to the throne of the heavenly grace saying after me
01:51Almighty and most merciful Father
01:54we have erred and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep
02:00we have followed too much
02:02the devices and desires of our own hearts
