00:04The Gospel of St Luke, Chapter 15, Verses 18 and 19
00:12I will arise and go to my Father, and will say to him,
00:18Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee,
00:22and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
00:29Dearly beloved brethren, the Scripture moves us in sundry places
00:34to acknowledge and confess our manifold sins and wickedness,
00:40but that we should not disassemble nor clothe them
00:45before the face of Almighty God our Heavenly Father,
00:49but confess them with a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
00:56To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same
01:00by His infinite goodness and mercy.
01:05And although we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our sins before God,
01:11yet ought we chiefly so to do,
01:14when we assemble and meet together,
01:16to render thanks for the great benefits we have received at His hands.
01:20to set forth His most worthy praise,
01:24to hear His most holy word,
01:28and to ask those things which are requisite and necessary,
01:32as well for the body as the soul.
01:37Wherefore, I pray and beseech you,
01:39as many as are here present,
01:41to accompany me with a pure heart and humble voice
01:45to the throne of the heavenly grace,
01:49saying after me,
01:53Almighty and most merciful Father,
01:56we have erred and strayed from Thy ways like lost sheep.
02:02We have followed too much
02:04the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:09We have offended against Thy holy laws.
02:14We have left undone those things which we ought to have done,
02:18and we have done those things we ought not to have done,
02:23and there is no health in us.
02:27But Thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us,
02:30miserable offenders.
02:33Spare Thou them, O God, who confess their faults,
02:37restore Thou those who are penitent,
02:40according to Thy promises declared unto mankind
02:44in Christ Jesus our Lord,
02:47and grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake,
02:52that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life.
02:57To the glory of Thy holy name.
03:00Amen.
03:04Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
03:08who desireth not the death of a sinner,
03:11but rather that he turn from his wickedness and live,
03:15and has given power and commandment to his ministers
03:19to declare and pronounce to his people,
03:22being penitent,
03:25the absolution and remission of their sins.
03:29He pardoneth and absolveth all
03:32who truly repent
03:34and unfaimly believe his holy gospel.
03:40Wherefore, let us beseech him to grant us true repentance
03:44and his Holy Spirit,
03:46that those things may please him
03:49which we do at this present,
03:52and that the rest of our life hereafter
03:54may be pure and holy,
03:56so that at the last
03:57we may come to his eternal joy
04:00through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
04:06Amen.
04:09Our Father, which art in heaven,
04:12hallowed be thy name.
04:14Thy kingdom come.
04:16Thy will be done
04:18as it is in heaven.
04:20Give us this day our daily bread
04:22and forgive us our trespasses
04:25as we forgive them
04:27that trespass against us.
04:29And lead us not into temptation,
04:32but deliver us from evil,
04:34for thine is the kingdom,
04:36the power and the glory
04:37for ever and ever.
04:40Amen.
04:44O Lord, open our lips
04:47and our mouth shall show forth
04:50thy praise.
04:53O God, make speed to save us.
04:57O Lord, make haste to help us.
05:02Glory be to the Father
05:04and to the Son
05:05and to the Holy Ghost,
05:07as it was in the beginning,
05:09is now and ever shall be,
05:12world without end.
05:14Amen.
05:17Praise ye the Lord.
05:20The Lord's name be praised.
05:25O come, let us sing unto the Lord
05:28and let us heartily rejoice
05:30in the strength of our salvation.
05:34Let us come before his presence
05:36with thanksgiving
05:37and show ourselves glad in him with psalms.
05:42For the Lord is a great God
05:44and a great King above all gods.
05:48In his hand are all the corners of the earth
05:50and the strength of the hills
05:52is his also.
05:55The sea is his and he made it
05:57and his hands prepared the dry land.
06:01O come, let us worship and hold home
06:04and kneel before the Lord, our Maker.
06:08For he is the Lord, our God,
06:10and we are the people of his pasture
06:13and the sheep of his hand.
06:17Today, if you will hear his voice,
06:20harden not your hearts
06:21as in the provocation
06:23and as in the day of temptation
06:25in the wilderness
06:28when our fathers tempted us,
06:31proved us and saw our works.
06:35Forty years long I was grieved
06:37with this generation
06:38and said it is a people
06:39that do err in their hearts
06:41and they have not known my ways.
06:46Unto whom I swore in my wrath
06:48that they should not enter into my rest.
06:53Glory be to the Father
06:54and to the Son
06:55and to the Holy Ghost
06:57as it was in the beginning
06:59is now and ever shall be
07:02world without end.
07:04Amen.
07:14Psalm 90
07:17Lord, thou hast been our refuge
07:19from one generation to another.
07:22Before the mountains were brought forth
07:25or ever the earth and the world were made,
07:28thou art gone from everlasting
07:30and world without end.
07:33Thou turnest man to destruction.
07:36Again thou sayest,
07:37come again ye children of men.
07:42For a thousand years in thy sight
07:44are but as yesterday,
07:47seeing that is past
07:48as a watch in the night.
07:51As soon as thou scatterest
07:52them that even are as asleep
07:55and fade away suddenly
07:57like the grass,
07:58in the morning it is green
08:00and groweth up,
08:02but in the evening
08:03it is cut down,
08:04dried up and withered.
08:06For we consume away
08:08in thy displeasure
08:09and are afraid
08:10at thy wrathful indignation.
08:13Thou hast set
08:14our misdeeds before thee
08:16and our secret sins
08:17in the light
08:18of thy countenance.
08:20For when thou art angry
08:22all our days are gone.
08:24We bring our years to an end
08:26as it were a tale
08:27that is told.
08:30The days of our age
08:31are three score years and ten.
08:34And though men
08:35be so strong
08:36that they come
08:37to four score years,
08:38yet is their strength then
08:40but labour and sorrow,
08:42so soon passeth it away
08:44and we are gone.
08:46But who regardeth
08:48the power of thy wrath,
08:49for even thereafter
08:51as a man feareth,
08:52so is thy displeasure.
08:55So teach us
08:56to number our days,
08:57that we may apply
08:59our hearts
09:00unto wisdom.
09:02Turn thee again,
09:03O Lord,
09:04at the last,
09:05and be gracious
09:06unto thy servants.
09:07O satisfy us
09:09with thy mercy
09:10and thy sin.
09:12So shall we rejoice
09:13and be glad
09:14of all the days
09:15of our life.
09:18Comfort us again
09:19now and after
09:20that time
09:21thou hast played us
09:22and for the years
09:24wherein we have
09:25suffered adversity.
09:27Show thy servants
09:29thy work
09:29and their children
09:31their glory.
09:33And the glorious majesty
09:35of the Lord our God
09:36be upon us.
09:38Prosper thou the work
09:40of our hands upon us.
09:41O prosper thou
09:43our handiwork.
09:45Glory be to the Father
09:47and to the Son
09:48and to the Holy Ghost,
09:49as it was in the beginning,
09:52is now and ever shall be,
09:54world without end.
09:57Amen.
10:00Psalm 91
10:04Whoso dwelleth
10:05under the defence
10:06of the Most High
10:07shall abide
10:08under the shadow
10:09of the Almighty.
10:11I will say
10:13unto the Lord,
10:14Thou art my hope
10:15and my stronghold.
10:16My God,
10:17in him
10:18will I trust.
10:20For he
10:21shall deliver thee
10:22from the snare
10:23of the hunter
10:24and from the noisome
10:25pestilence.
10:27He shall defend thee
10:29under his wings
10:30and thou shalt be safe
10:31under his feathers.
10:33His faithfulness
10:34and truth
10:35shall be thy shield
10:36and buckler.
10:39Thou shalt not
10:40be afraid
10:41for any terror
10:42by night,
10:43nor for the arrow
10:44that flyeth
10:45by day,
10:47for the pestilence
10:48that walketh
10:49in darkness,
10:50nor for the sickness
10:51that destroyed
10:53in the new day.
10:55A thousand
10:55shall fall beside thee
10:57and ten thousand
10:58at thy right hand,
10:59but it shall not
11:01come nigh thee.
11:03Yea,
11:04with thine eyes
11:05thou shalt behold
11:06and see the reward
11:08of the ungodly.
11:09For thou,
11:10Lord,
11:11art my hope.
11:12Thou hast set
11:13thine house of defence
11:14very high.
11:16There shall be
11:17no evil
11:18happen unto thee,
11:19neither shall any
11:20plague come
11:21nigh thy dwelling.
11:23For he shall
11:24give his angels
11:25charge over thee,
11:26to keep thee
11:27in all thy ways.
11:29They shall bear thee
11:31in their hands,
11:32that thou hurt
11:33not thy foot
11:34against a stone.
11:36Thou shalt go
11:37upon the lion
11:38and the adder.
11:39The young lion
11:40and the dragon
11:41shalt thou tread
11:43under thy feet.
11:45Because he hath
11:46set his love
11:47upon thee,
11:48therefore I will
11:49deliver him.
11:50I will set him up,
11:52because he hath
11:53known my name.
11:55He shall call
11:56upon me
11:57and I will hear him.
11:58Yea,
11:59I am with him
12:00in trouble.
12:01I will deliver him
12:02and bring him
12:03to honour.
12:05With long life
12:06I will satisfy him
12:07and show him
12:09my salvation.
12:12Glory be to the Father
12:14and to the Son
12:15and to the Holy Ghost,
12:16as it was
12:18in the beginning,
12:19is now,
12:19and ever shall be,
12:21world without end.
12:22Amen.
12:27Psalm 92
12:31It is a good thing
12:32to give thanks
12:33unto the Lord
12:34and to sing praises
12:35unto thy name,
12:37O Most Highest,
12:39to tell of thy loving kindness
12:40early in the morning
12:42and of thy truth
12:43in the night season,
12:46upon an instrument
12:47of ten strings
12:48and upon the lute,
12:49upon a loud instrument
12:51and upon the heart.
12:53For thou, Lord,
12:55hast made me glad
12:55through thy works,
12:57and I will rejoice
12:58in giving praise
12:59for the operations
13:00of thy hands.
13:03O Lord,
13:04how glorious
13:04are thy works!
13:06Thy thoughts
13:06are very deep.
13:09An unwise man
13:11does not well
13:12consider this,
13:13and a fool
13:14does not understand it.
13:16when the ungodly
13:17are green
13:18as the grass
13:19and when all
13:20the workers
13:20of wickedness
13:21do flourish,
13:22then shall they
13:23be destroyed
13:23for ever.
13:25But thou, Lord,
13:26art the Most Highest
13:27for evermore.
13:29For lo,
13:30thine enemies,
13:31O Lord,
13:32lo,
13:32thine enemies
13:33shall perish
13:34and all the workers
13:35of wickedness
13:36shall be destroyed.
13:39But mine horn
13:40shall be exalted
13:41like the horn
13:42of an unicorn,
13:43for I am anointed
13:45with fresh oil.
13:48Mine eye
13:49shall also see
13:50his lust
13:51of mine enemies,
13:52and mine ear
13:53shall hear
13:54his desire
13:55of the wicked
13:56that arise up
13:57against me.
13:59The righteous
14:00shall flourish
14:01like a palm tree
14:02and shall spread
14:04abroad
14:04like a cedar
14:05in Libanus.
14:07Such
14:08are planted
14:09in the house
14:10of the Lord
14:11and shall flourish
14:12in the courts
14:13of the house
14:14of our God.
14:15They also
14:16shall bring forth
14:17more fruit
14:18in their age
14:19and shall be fat
14:20and well like him,
14:22that they may show
14:23how true
14:24the Lord
14:24my strength is
14:25and that there is
14:26no unrighteousness
14:28in him.
14:29Glory be to the Father
14:31and to the Son
14:32and to the Holy Ghost,
14:34as it was
14:35in the beginning,
14:36is now
14:37and ever shall be,
14:39world without end.
14:40Amen.
14:44The Prophet Daniel
14:46Chapter 7
14:49In the first year
14:50of Belshazzar
14:51king of Babylon,
14:52Daniel had a dream
14:53and visions
14:54of his head
14:55on his bed.
14:59Then he wrote
15:00the dream
15:01and told the sum
15:01of the matters.
15:04Daniel spoke
15:05and said
15:08I saw in my vision
15:09by night
15:10and behold
15:11the four winds
15:12of the sky
15:13broke out
15:13on the great sea.
15:16Four great animals
15:17came up from the sea,
15:19different from one another.
15:21The first was like a lion
15:23and had eagle's wings.
15:25I watched
15:26until its wings
15:27were plucked
15:28and it was lifted
15:29up from the earth
15:30and made to stand
15:31on two feet
15:32as a man.
15:34A man's heart
15:35was given to it.
15:39Behold,
15:39there was another animal,
15:40a second,
15:41like a bear.
15:42It was raised up
15:44on one side
15:45and three ribs
15:45were in its mouth
15:46between its teeth.
15:49On the side of it,
15:50arise,
15:51devour much flesh.
15:54After this,
15:55I saw another
15:57like a leopard
15:58which had on its back
16:00four wings
16:01of a bird.
16:02The animal also
16:03had four heads
16:04and a dominion
16:06was given to it.
16:09After this,
16:10I saw in the night visions
16:11and behold,
16:12there was a fourth animal,
16:14awesome and powerful
16:16and exceedingly strong.
16:18It had great iron teeth.
16:21It devoured
16:22in broken pieces
16:23and stamped the residue
16:24with its feet.
16:27It was different
16:28from the animals
16:29that were before it.
16:31It had ten horns.
16:34I considered the horns
16:36and behold,
16:38there came up
16:38from among them
16:39another horn,
16:40a little one,
16:42before which
16:43the three of the horns,
16:45first horns,
16:46were plucked up
16:47by the root.
16:49and behold,
16:50in this horn
16:50were eyes like the eyes
16:52of a man
16:53and the mouth
16:53speaking great things.
16:58And while I was watching,
16:59thrones were set up
17:00and the ancient of days
17:02took his seat.
17:04His attire was white
17:05like snow,
17:06the hair of his head
17:08was like lamb's wool.
17:10His throne
17:11was ablaze with fire
17:13and its wheels
17:14and its wheels
17:14were aflame.
17:17A river of fire
17:18streamed forth
17:19and proceeded
17:21from his presence.
17:23Many thousands
17:24were ministering
17:25to him.
17:26Many tens of thousands
17:28stood ready
17:28to serve him.
17:31The court convened
17:33and the books
17:34were opened.
17:38Then I kept on
17:39watching
17:39because of the
17:40arrogant words
17:41of the horn
17:42that was speaking.
17:44I watched
17:45until the beast
17:46was killed
17:47and its body
17:47destroyed
17:48and thrown
17:48into the flaming fire.
17:52As for the rest
17:53of the beasts,
17:53their ruling authority
17:54had already been removed,
17:57although they were
17:58permitted to go on
17:58living for a time
17:59and a season.
18:01I was watching
18:03in the night visions.
18:07with the clouds
18:08of the sky
18:09one like the son
18:10of man
18:11was a preaching.
18:13He went up
18:14to the ancient
18:15of days
18:16and was escorted
18:17before him.
18:19To him
18:20was given
18:21ruling authority,
18:22honour and sovereignty.
18:24All peoples,
18:25nations and language
18:26groups served him.
18:28His authority
18:29is eternal
18:30and will not
18:31pass away.
18:33His kingdom
18:34will not
18:35be destroyed.
18:37This is the word
18:39of the Lord.
18:40Thanks be to God.
18:46we praise thee,
18:48O God.
18:49We acknowledge thee
18:50to be the Lord.
18:52All the earth
18:53does worship thee,
18:55the Father
18:55everlasting.
18:57To thee,
18:58all angels
18:59cry aloud,
19:01the heavens
19:01and all the powers
19:02therein.
19:04To thee,
19:05cherubim and seraphim,
19:07continually do cry,
19:09holy,
19:10holy,
19:11holy,
19:11holy,
19:12Lord God of
19:13Sabael,
19:14heaven and earth
19:15are full
19:16of the majesty
19:17of thy glory.
19:20the glorious
19:21of the apostles
19:22praise thee,
19:24the goodly fellowship
19:26of the prophets,
19:27praise thee,
19:29the noble army
19:30of martyrs,
19:31praise thee,
19:33the holy church
19:34throughout all the world
19:36does acknowledge thee,
19:38the Father
19:38of an infinite majesty,
19:41the honourable
19:42true
19:42and only Son,
19:44or so the Holy Ghost,
19:47the Comforter.
19:48Thou art the King
19:50of glory,
19:51O Christ,
19:52thou art the everlasting
19:53Son of the Father.
19:57When thou tookest
19:58upon thee
19:59to deliver man,
20:00thou didst not
20:01abel
20:01the virgin's womb.
20:04For thou hast
20:05overcome
20:05the sharpness
20:06of death,
20:07thou didst open
20:08the kingdom of heaven
20:09to all believers.
20:13Thou sittest
20:14at the right hand
20:15of God
20:15in the glory
20:16of the Father.
20:18We believe
20:19that thou shalt
20:20come
20:20to be our judge.
20:23We therefore
20:24pray thee
20:25help thy servants
20:26whom thou hast
20:27redeemed
20:28with thy precious blood.
20:30Make them
20:31to be numbered
20:31with thy sights
20:33in glory everlasting.
20:36O Lord,
20:37save thy people
20:38and bless
20:39thine heritage.
20:41Govern them
20:42and lift them
20:43up for ever.
20:45Day by day
20:46we magnify thee
20:48and we worship
20:49thy name
20:50ever world
20:51without end.
20:54Thou say,
20:54O Lord,
20:55to keep us
20:55this day
20:56without sin.
20:58Lord,
20:59have mercy
20:59upon us,
21:00have mercy
21:02upon us.
21:03Lord,
21:04let thy mercy
21:05lighten upon us
21:06as our trust
21:07is in thee.
21:09O Lord,
21:10in thee
21:10have I trusted.
21:12Let me
21:13never be
21:13confounded.
21:16Glory be
21:16to the Father
21:17and to the Son
21:18and to the Holy Spirit
21:19as it was
21:21in the beginning,
21:22is now
21:23and ever shall be,
21:25world without end.
21:27Amen.
21:32The second epistle
21:34to the Corinthians
21:35chapter 10
21:39Now I, Paul,
21:40appeal to you
21:41personally
21:41by the meekness
21:42and gentleness
21:43of Christ.
21:45I, who am meek
21:47when present
21:47among you,
21:48but am full of courage
21:49toward you
21:50and the way,
21:52now I ask
21:53that when I am present
21:54I may not have
21:54to be bold
21:55with the confidence
21:57that I expect.
21:58I will dare to use
22:00against some
22:01who consider
22:01as to behave
22:03according to
22:04human standards.
22:07For although
22:08we live as human beings
22:09we do not wage
22:10war
22:10according to
22:12human standards.
22:13for the weapons
22:14of our warfare
22:15are not human weapons
22:17but are made powerful
22:18by God
22:19for tearing down
22:21strongholds.
22:22We tear down
22:23the arguments
22:24of every arrogant
22:25obstacle
22:26that is raised up
22:27against the knowledge
22:29of God
22:30and we take
22:31every thought captive
22:33to make it obey Christ.
22:35We are also ready
22:36to punish
22:37every act of disobedience
22:38whenever your obedience
22:40is complete.
22:43you are looking
22:44at outward appearances
22:46if anyone is confident
22:48that he belongs
22:48to Christ
22:49he should reflect
22:51on this again
22:52just as he himself
22:54belongs to Christ
22:55so do we too.
22:59for if I boast
23:00somewhat more
23:00about our authority
23:01that the Lord
23:02gave us
23:02for building you up
23:04and not
23:05for tearing you down
23:07I will not be ashamed
23:08of doing so.
23:11I do not want
23:12to seem
23:12as though I am
23:13trying to terrify you
23:14with my letters
23:16because some say
23:18his letters
23:19are weighty
23:21and forceful
23:22but his physical
23:24appearance
23:24is weak
23:25and his speech
23:25is of no account.
23:28Let such a person
23:30consider this
23:31what we say
23:32by letters
23:33when we are absent
23:34we also are
23:36in actions
23:36when we are present.
23:39for we would not dare
23:41to classify
23:41or compare ourselves
23:42with some of those
23:43who recommend themselves
23:46but when they measure
23:48themselves
23:48by themselves
23:49and compare themselves
23:50with themselves
23:52they are
23:53without understanding.
23:57but we will not boast
23:59beyond certain limits
24:01we will confine
24:02our boasting
24:03according to the limits
24:04of the work
24:05to which God
24:05has appointed us
24:08that reaches
24:08even as far as you
24:11for we were not
24:13overextending ourselves
24:14as though we did not
24:15reach as far as you
24:17because we were
24:18the first to reach
24:19as far as you
24:20with the gospel
24:22about Christ.
24:24nor do we boast
24:25beyond certain limits
24:27in the work
24:28done by others
24:30but we hope that
24:31as your faith
24:32continues to grow
24:33our work
24:34may be greatly
24:35expanded among you
24:37according to
24:38our limits
24:40so that we may
24:41preach the gospel
24:42in the regions
24:42that lie beyond you
24:44and not boast
24:46of work already done
24:47in another person's area.
24:50But the one who boasts
24:51must boast
24:52in the Lord
24:54for it is not
24:55the person
24:56who commends himself
24:57who is approved
24:58but the person
25:00the Lord commends.
25:03This is the word
25:05of the Lord
25:06Thanks be to God
25:15Blessed be the Lord
25:17God of Israel
25:18for he hath visited
25:20and redeemed
25:20his people
25:22and hath raised up
25:23a mighty salvation
25:24for us
25:25in the house
25:26of his servant
25:27David
25:29as he spake
25:30by the mouth
25:31of his holy prophets
25:32which have since
25:33been since the world
25:34began
25:35that we should be
25:37saved from our enemies
25:38and from the hand
25:39of all that hate us
25:41to perform
25:43the mercy promised
25:44to our forefathers
25:46and to remember
25:47his holy covenant
25:49to perform the oath
25:50which he swore
25:51to our forefather
25:52Abraham
25:53that he would give us
25:55that would be delivered
25:57out of the hand
25:58of our enemies
25:59might serve him
26:00without fear
26:02holiness and righteousness
26:04before him
26:05all the days
26:06of our life
26:08and thou child
26:10shall be called
26:10the prophet
26:11of the highest
26:12for thou shalt go
26:13before the face
26:14of the Lord
26:15to prepare his ways
26:16to give knowledge
26:18of salvation
26:19to his people
26:20for the remission
26:22of their sins
26:23through the tender mercy
26:25of our God
26:25whereby the dayspring
26:28from on high
26:29hath visited us
26:30to give light
26:32to them
26:33that sit in darkness
26:34and in the shadow
26:36of death
26:36and to guide our feet
26:38into the way
26:39of peace
26:41glory be to the Father
26:43and to the Son
26:43and to the Holy Ghost
26:45as it was
26:46in the beginning
26:47is now
26:48and ever shall be
26:49world without end
26:51Amen
26:58I believe
26:59in God the Father
27:01Almighty
27:02maker of heaven
27:03and earth
27:05and in Jesus Christ
27:07his only Son
27:07our Lord
27:08who was conceived
27:10by the Holy Ghost
27:11born of the Virgin Mary
27:13suffered
27:14and upon
27:14his pilot
27:15crucified
27:16dead
27:17and buried
27:18he descended
27:19into hell
27:20the third day
27:22he rose again
27:23from the dead
27:24he ascended
27:25into heaven
27:26and seated
27:27on the right hand
27:29of God
27:29the Father Almighty
27:31from thence
27:32he shall come
27:33to judge
27:33the quick
27:34and the dead
27:36I believe
27:37in the Holy Ghost
27:38the Holy Catholic Church
27:40the communion
27:41of saints
27:42the forgiveness
27:43of sins
27:44the resurrection
27:45of the body
27:46and the life
27:48everlasting
27:49Amen
27:53the Lord
27:54be with you
27:55and with thy spirit
27:59let us pray
28:02Lord
28:03have mercy
28:03upon us

28:39from evil
