00:09Well, there's part of me, I talked about this on the preview with Lance Reisland on YouTube yesterday.
00:15I kind of feel like this is going one of two ways.
00:17It's either going to be a bloodbath or Baker's going to be so caught up in his emotions
00:22that he's going to make a bunch of mistakes and the Browns will be able to capitalize
00:25and, you know, come home with a win.
00:27That's what we talked about earlier.
00:28Yeah, I mean, he's had this thing circled on his calendar.
00:34He wants blood Sunday.
00:35There's no question about it.
00:37He wants nothing more than to rub the Browns' nose in this thing.
00:41But remember the season opener in Carolina that the Panthers lost on a last-second 50-plus-yard field goal
00:51at the buzzer.
00:52So we've had a Baker revenge game already that he did not win.
00:58So we'll see how this round number two of Baker's revenge tour goes.
01:03People are getting mad.
01:04They're like, do you guys even remember that game?
01:06Yes, we remember that game.
01:07The difference is it wasn't Deshaun Watson.
01:10Stop it.
01:11I know.
01:11And Baker was kind of in the weird nether region of football.
01:16We didn't know where he was going to go.
01:19He was going downhill fast.
01:20The grundle of football.
01:21Yes.
01:22So now he's back riding the white horse.
01:26He's got the $60 million a year contract or whatever it is.
01:30And, you know, there are expectations for him.
01:33And he's going up against Deshaun Watson.
01:35I think it's a totally different scenario.
01:36Well, I mean, yeah, there's a little difference there because Deshaun's going to be on the field.
01:41And I'm sure Deshaun will do all he can do to help the Buccaneers win.
01:44So it should be fun.
01:46Well, well, well.
01:47Yeah, I thought the – because the only reason I could give that we could win the game –
01:52like I'm not picking the Browns anymore.
01:54That's probably smart on you.
01:56Well, I got agitated because too many people thought I was saying guaranteed.
01:59I was like, I didn't guarantee a damn thing.
02:02But I picked the Browns to win last week.
02:04They lost.
02:04They lost spectacularly.
02:05And it's never going to happen again.
02:06Not this year anyway.
02:07But I did say the only way I could – because you always fantasize about winning if you're a Browns
02:12fan.
02:13And the only way I could see it was exactly how you said it, Daryl, where it was like, hey,
02:18if he goes out there and tries to do what he did against the Lions and all of a sudden
02:23we're in the fourth quarter
02:24and we're getting ready to start the fourth and it's a 15-14 game or whatever the hell the score
02:30was,
02:3017-14 game, okay, maybe we got a chance to go out there and win it.
02:34But I do think it's a little bit of a test of maturity and not like what he would do
02:40in the postgame.
02:41Like, he might say some things in the postgame and we're going to have to talk about him on Monday
02:45morning.
02:46But if he just goes out there and hands the ball off and takes what the defense gives him,
02:50yeah, I think Tampa Bay will go out there and they'll win the game,
02:53which brings you to Mike Rutenberg here in a second.
02:56But do you think that that's the test of Baker's maturity right then and there?
03:00Yeah, I think so.
03:02And look, he's the better player between the quarterbacks as well.
03:05Easily.
03:06Easily, yes.
03:07It's not even close and I think if you give some folks some truth serum,
03:12if the Browns would have had this version of Baker Mayfield,
03:15they'd sign up for that in a heartbeat, right?
03:18We wouldn't even be having this conversation.
03:20So, unfortunately, Baker did need to go through what he went through.
03:25It was mutual self-destruction as far as that relationship goes.
03:28Baker was just as culpable as the Browns were in that divorce.
03:32We don't need to go back and rehash and relive all that,
03:34although I know leading up to this game there's going to be a lot of that done.
03:39But he's the superior player.
03:41He should win Sunday.
03:42The Buccaneers should win this game Sunday.
03:45He's got a really good, sound supporting cast with Chris Godwin and Emiko Buka.
03:51And Kate Otten is really good, the tight end for Tampa Bay.
03:57You know, Bucky Irving did a nice job in Week 1.
04:01So, he's got a really good supporting cast.
04:03He's the better player.
04:04Tampa Bay should win this game.
04:06But we know Baker.
04:07He does wear his emotions and his heart on his sleeve for better or for worse.
04:12Sometimes that's a good thing.
04:14Sometimes it's a bad thing.
04:16And if he gets overcome with the anger and the emotion,
04:19and like you said, he starts to try and do too much
04:22because he wants to make a point and really embarrass the Browns on Sunday,
04:26and that leads to mistakes, well, then hopefully the Browns can capitalize off of that.
04:30But, yeah, when I look at these two football teams,
04:33this is a game that Tampa Bay should win.
04:35But as we know in sports, the team that should win doesn't always win.

04:42Mike Rutenberg, Sunday, last Sunday was a rough day at the office.
04:46You know, I said there was a lot of things that looked like zone.
04:48He actually addressed that.
04:50Said, yeah, you know, sometimes we place a man that looks like zone.
04:53And I'm going, well, could have fooled me.
04:55Right.
04:55Anywho, I still want to give him a little bit of time before I go ripping on him.
05:01Owen said that I was being soft.
05:04Thoughts?
05:07I was, that was probably the, for as bad as Deshaun was last week,
05:12that the defense was the most disappointing
05:14because that was an area that I did have expectation.
05:19I had expectation that, yes, there'd be a little drop-off
05:22going from Myles Garrett to Jared first,
05:24but they would still be able to get some pressure on the quarterback.
05:27They got no pressure on the quarterback last week.
05:29So hopefully this week they find a way to get after Baker here
05:33and apply some heat.
05:34The secondary was extremely disappointing.
05:37Now, Tyson Campbell's banged up a little bit here.
05:39We'll see what his outlook and status is.
05:42Suffered an ankle injury at some point, did not practice yesterday.
05:45That could be a significant loss because the Browns do have a little bit
05:49of a deficit there at that nickel corner spot.
05:52I mean, they were really exposed last Sunday in Jacksonville.
05:58So that's something to keep an eye on.
06:00But, yeah, I was a little disappointed.
06:02This is a team and a secondary that plays better man-to-man
06:07than they do in zone.
06:08I don't know why that is.
06:10It just, it is.
06:11And this goes all the way back to Joe Woods.
06:13Communication just is something that this secondary has never really been good at.
06:18It hasn't mattered who the players are.
06:21It's just the way it's been.
06:22Again, I don't understand it as far as why that is, but it is.
06:28So when he sits up there yesterday and he talks about, hey, you know,
06:32we want to play to our players' strengths, well, then guess what?
06:35I'm expecting on Sunday to see a lot more man than we saw in week number one
06:39because, quite frankly, that's what that secondary does much better.
06:44Daryl, I try not to overreact.
06:46The early season games.
06:48I really don't.
06:48You said that with a straight face, Lima.
06:50You're really going to sit there with a straight face and say you don't overreact.
06:54Daryl, as you know, I'm a knowledgeable observer of the league.
06:57I follow the entire league, not just the Browns.
07:00And so what we've seen in the opening games this year was some of the highest scores ever.
07:06A lot of coaches talking about preseason no longer prepares their players.
07:10Yeah, everybody plays offense in the NFL but the Cleveland Browns, apparently.
07:13Wow, that was the one anomaly there, apparently.
07:16But when it came to defenses, they were all bad.
07:18And so Jared Verse kind of having just a no-show in week one.
07:24I didn't lose my mind.
07:25I didn't think it was the end of the world.
07:26Listen, he had three more tackles in week one than Miles Garrett did.
07:31You could have fooled me.
07:32I saw him getting bowled over on a few of those tackles.
07:36Yeah, we got three more tackles and another first-round pick.
07:39Boom.
07:39There you go.
07:40Mark it.
07:41And Jared Verse is playing this week.
07:43Yeah, with all that said, how much pressure is on him to kind of come up with some pressures, a
07:48sack,
07:49maybe a game-changing play after that opener?
07:51Because a lot of people are like, I thought this guy was good.
07:54Yeah, well, it's not just him.
07:55It's the entire defensive front.
07:56But obviously, because he was traded for who he was traded for, right, he's getting all the attention.
08:04But yeah, there is some pressure.
08:06And again, this is the Baker Mayfield hate revenge get-em-back game.
08:11So they need Jared Verse to be disruptive in the backfield along with the rest of that defensive line.
08:18Need Mason Graham.
08:19Need Malik Collins.
08:21So, you know, Carson Swessinger made a lot of plays, but unfortunately not in a position where he can make
08:28one of those game-changing plays that we got spoiled with last season.
08:33And hopefully that happens.
08:36But yeah, I mean, Jared Verse is going to be the center of criticism on that defensive line from now
08:41and for years to come because of the trade that was made.
08:45That's just the way she goes.
08:47But it would be nice to see Jared Verse make a play that impacts the game and, you know, turns
08:56the tide in the Browns' favor.
08:58Because that's part of the reason why Andrew Barry insisted upon his inclusion in that deal with the Rams.
09:04All right, Daryl, when it comes to head coach Todd Munkin, we were sold this was going to be the
09:11tough-talking speaker of truth and justice here in the United States of America and Cleveland Browns fandom.
09:19But now people have turned on him.
09:21Is it a little too early?
09:22Is it necessarily his fault that we're in this situation?
09:26Um, I don't think that last week went well enough to absolve him of blame.
09:33So, no.
09:34And that comes with the territory, and he'll be the first one to tell you that.
09:38This is what they sign up for.
09:39This is why they get paid the type of money they get paid.
09:42So, no.
09:43He deserves all the criticism he's gotten this week, just like Mike Rutenberg has deserved the criticism.
09:48And Deshaun Watson and Jared Verse in the Browns' secondary.
09:52They all deserve criticism for the egg they laid last week.
09:55And if they play like they did last week in Jacksville on Sunday in Tampa Bay, we know what the
10:00conversation is going to look and sound like Monday morning with you guys.
10:03So, they have an opportunity for course correction here.
10:07And we'll see if they do enough, you know, to put everyone in a better mood.
10:13I'm just looking for them to be competitive.
10:15Like, I'm not even looking for them to win this game on Sunday.
10:18Just be competitive.
10:19Just be in the ballgame in the fourth quarter.
10:21Have a shot.
10:21Have a chance.
10:22Instead of this thing being over at halftime like it was last week.
10:25That's what you say to a high school football team.
10:27Well, you know what, Ken, in a lot of respects, that's kind of what we're dealing with right now.

10:33I mean, you got a quarterback that can't read the field, can't make the throws, can't see linebackers, can't take

10:40is mentally shot because he's too busy blaming the media and the fans for his lot in life.

10:49Like, stop looking at everyone else to blame for why you can't play the sport at the level that $46
