00:00Hello there, good morning. Well after some wind and rain yesterday, today looks a lot calmer,
00:06lighter winds and a return of some autumnal sunshine. And it's all thanks to high pressure
00:11eventually building from the southwest. This will ease away the isobars, they'll eventually become
00:16further apart, lightening off the winds and also any rain soon clearing away. Saying that though,
00:22it could be quite a wet start across Scotland, some showers first thing, but through the course
00:26of the day, these will become lighter and eventually ease away. Certainly by the afternoon,
00:31well there'll be plenty of sunshine and across the UK by the afternoon, it'll be dry, settled
00:36with plenty of sunny spells. And as winds start to turn a bit lighter and the sun comes out,
00:41it'll feel quite pleasant where we see the sunshine. Highs reaching towards the mid to high teens,
00:46even into the low 20s across eastern areas of England and also parts of the south and southeast.
00:52Then to finish off the day, it should remain mostly dry for a time. Then another change overnight,
00:58we'll eventually start to see thickening areas of cloud towards the northwest and some spells of rain
01:02pushing through into the early hours of Monday. So another quite wet start for Scotland as we progress
01:07into Monday morning. Elsewhere though, it should remain largely dry, a mix of cloud, also some clear
01:12skies. We may even see a little bit of fog first thing in the morning, but that should soon clear
01:16away.
01:17Perhaps a little bit chillier under clearer skies, but through the course of Monday it is going to
01:21start to turn quite warm again and also quite muggy at times as well. So still quite wet across
01:27Scotland, Northern Ireland, northwest England to start the day. Most of the rain will eventually
01:32ease by the time we reach the afternoon, but it's often going to be quite cloudy with still some
01:36spells of rain and drizzle certainly across hills. The best of the brightness will be across the far
01:40south and southeast, but for all it is going to be another warm and humid day. Temperatures widely
01:45pushing into the low 20s, if not towards the mid-20s across eastern and southeast England,
01:50and also the winds will start to pick up around Scotland by the time we reach the afternoon.
01:57Now for the rest of the week, it's a fairly similar picture. High pressure holds on, which means lots
02:02of dry, settled conditions. It's likely to still remain warm, but at times low pressure will swing
02:07in some fronts across the far north of the country, so there will still be some rain and some showers
02:11on
02:12the cards. The best of the weather likely across England and Wales, whereas Scotland, Northern Ireland
02:17may pick up a little bit more of the unsettled weather. Not only that, but it looks to remain
02:21fairly warm. Temperatures staying in towards the mid-20s and it's likely remaining warm for the rest of
02:27the week, but there's a bit of uncertainty as to how long that warmth is going to last. But of
