Parts of the Midwest, especially near the Great Lakes, are still dealing with flooding from the last round of storms, but more are on the way this weekend.
Transcript
00:00Look at this. I-70 this afternoon in Hebron, Ohio, or near there, the Licking River.
00:05We're dealing with major flooding. You can see, obviously, nobody's going to be traveling
00:09over the I-70 there. This is about halfway between Columbus and Zanesville, so about
00:16two counties east of Columbus. And here, things are reported in terms of sea level as opposed to
00:22maybe a smaller scale. But we crested at 882.82 feet earlier, and that was just, again, maybe an
00:32inch shy of the record crest. There's going to be a secondary little crest here this afternoon
00:37in progress basically right now. But again, we had a major, major flood there, and this has been a
00:44problem. So I-70 remaining closed east of Columbus and west of Zanesville, Ohio. More storms are on
00:51the map here, and some of these other storms have become severe into parts of Wisconsin,
00:55north-central Illinois, and then another zone here into the area near Kansas City. Look out there
00:59just south of town into Lewisburg, Overland Park, Kansas. Strong storms. Damaging wind and hail are
01:04some concerns in this area around Kansas City, up into Omaha, Grand Island, and also to the east with
01:09the eastern disturbance near Chicago, Rockford, Peoria, Madison, Milwaukee, Waterloo, Davenport.
01:14Strong and severe thunderstorms are a possibility there as well. And into Saturday, we're going to have
01:19more storms east Michigan into Ohio. We don't want more of that. Again, I-70 closed east of Columbus
01:25because of significant major flooding with the area around the Licking River. All right, we have some
01:32more strong storms in our forecast for tomorrow into parts of Ohio, northern Kentucky, West Virginia.
01:38This is tied to that trough that we presented to you there with the southeastern forecast.
01:41It impacts the Great Lakes area as well. And some of these storms could bring damaging wind,
01:46hail, flash flooding, and also the risk of perhaps an isolated or two, maybe more than just two or
01:52three water spouts in some areas. This is going to be water spout weather with cold air aloft over
01:56those warm lakes. Sunday will be quieter with high pressure returning, and Monday looks pretty good.
02:00Still a little cooler than the historical average for this time of the year over the lakes.
02:05You'll be able to run by the witches.
02:05at learning targets to areas.
02:05players eat the state of Venice to the center of the hill for the halls ofexisties.
