Severe thunderstorms are rumbling across the Dakotas and surrounding areas.

00:00Some thunderstorms have been moving through this area. So Jamestown along the James River here is east of Bismarck.

00:09You've had some rain earlier. You're going to get another round of thunderstorms moving in from the west there in
00:13Jamestown.
00:14It's not severe in most cases. The best chance for severe weather is farther south.
00:18That's where you can see we've been dealing with some occasional reports.
00:20Here's one of those land spout tornadoes earlier near Burns, Wyoming.
00:24Land spout tornadoes form through a different process than your typical supercell tornado, but a supercell induced tornado.
00:33But again, we're dealing with some some isolated cases where we have these funnels that touch down and sometimes they're
00:38partially formed by some terrain enhancements based on the wind moving through some some mountainous terrain there in the high
00:46plains.
00:47Some large landforms like that.
00:49Rushville, Nebraska, new report 406 p.m. Mountain Time, one inch diameter hail there.
00:55So that's a severe storm northeast of Alliance and east of Shadron, Nebraska, into the Sandhills.
01:00And overall, we'll be tracking more severe storms into South Dakota and surrounding areas this evening.
01:05And tonight, wind, hail and flash flooding are all the biggest concerns there.
01:09We're looking at the Black Hills through the northern plains for the most part, facing some of these severe weather
01:14hazards this evening.
01:15Tomorrow, green zone there, Nebraska, all the way to northern Michigan, facing the best chance for thunderstorms.
01:21And you're going to see some of these in Des Moines and Green Bay, Minneapolis.
01:25But Kansas City and Chicago, you look good.
01:27You're probably dry.
01:28Could be a stray storm in St. Louis.
