00:00Widespread snow up in northern parts of North Dakota and we're also getting some lake-enhanced
00:05snow here coming up into Grand Marais and the lakeshore of Western Lake Superior.
00:11That's where we're dealing with a blizzard for some.
00:13Farther east, the arm of precipitation is lifting.
00:16This is a warm front.
00:17It's a little milder.
00:18Connecticut, Rhode Island, Boston, some rain showers.
00:20We've got some snow around areas around Utica and if you're near or southwest of Syracuse,
00:26it's mainly rain for you.
00:27But snow up into the Adirondacks and areas like Watertown will see some pretty decent
00:31snow this evening and tonight.
00:33So this is the first opportunity here for snow in the New England states for the short term.
00:38We've got one now and then another round coming in on Friday.
00:42It's pretty limited.
00:43A narrow zone near Watertown with three to six inches of snow.
00:46Albany, New York, one to three inches of snow as well.
00:49But as we take you a little farther west and you can see the footage there from Minnesota,
00:53what an abrupt change, we're back into snow mode here.
00:56So the forecast tomorrow is still some lingering snow in Duluth, but I think the biggest impact
01:01is going to be in Nebraska during the day tomorrow.
01:03And it's going to be a big change.
01:05You were in the 70s not long ago, right back into snow mode.
01:08And it's not just some snow, but heavy snow, six to 12 inches in Valentine, Nebraska and
01:13O'Neill, Nebraska.
01:14Another area of six to 12 inches with this Thursday, Friday round will be northern Wisconsin
01:20up into the northern part and northwestern parts of the upper peninsula of Michigan.
01:25So Houghton and the Keweenaw Peninsula.
01:26But Minneapolis one to three inches, three to six inches into Rochester and La Crosse, Wisconsin.
01:32And the storm track is still far enough north that this is just a rain event for Chicago.
01:35We are concerned about the severe thunderstorms on the south side of this.
01:39So again, this is that time of year where we get into really competing storylines, wildfires
01:44and snow, flooding and severe thunderstorms, ice for some.
01:48In this case, we got snow in Nebraska with severe thunderstorms in Indiana and Ohio, down
01:54into Kentucky as well tomorrow evening.
01:56That'll be a concern.
01:58Then into Thursday night, Friday morning, some showers push east into parts of West Virginia
02:02and Pennsylvania.
02:03Could be a little thunder and lightning there, but probably not severe.
02:06Widespread snow though up into northern New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and into southern
02:10Maine here on Friday.
02:11This kind of looks a little bit like the storm that's moving through right now.
02:15This one has a little more firepower to the north, a little more precipitation.
02:19And then this will be followed by a blast of colder air that follows for the whole region
02:23here.
02:24And that's going to be a bit of a disruptive thing.
02:26So Friday, we got rain for many of us, snow to the north, but this cold front means business.
02:31And that's what we've been seeing the impacts of with that snow forecast currently ongoing
02:36in Minnesota and the snow coming tomorrow in Nebraska.
02:39We're going to chill down behind this in the northeast as well.
