00:00Hi there.
00:01Changes are afoot as far as the UK's weather is concerned.
00:04It's going to feel fresher by the end of the day across all parts of the UK, but it will
00:09be very showery, especially towards the north and west, and that's because of this dip in
00:13the jet stream, what we call an upper trough, a lower pressure system higher in the sky,
00:18causing the air to rise and causing cooler air to arrive across the UK, behind these
00:24weather fronts which are clearing east angler in the south east.
00:26So, initially, some cloud, short-lived spell of rain, much of that out of the way by mid
00:31to late afternoon, brighter skies emerging elsewhere with a few showers, but more frequent downpours
00:37for Scotland as well as north-west England, hail and thunder thrown in as well as gusty winds,
00:42the most unsettled weather there across Shetland and Orkney originally, and that will be bringing
00:48some heavy, potentially thundery rain as well as very strong winds nearing gale force for
00:53a time. Eventually, it does clear away towards the end of the afternoon, and it clears to
00:58much cooler, fresher air across all parts of the UK, an early maximum temperature towards
01:04the south-east because we have got this cooler air mass arriving from the west-north-west,
01:08lower humidities, nevertheless, still the potential for low 20s across the south and south-east.
01:15Now, later on, we're going to see the showers in the north-west spill south-eastwards, making
01:21their way into central parts of England, the south-west for example, and most places will
01:25get a shower or two overnight, but I suspect east angler in the south-east mostly dry.
01:31Less unsettled in the far north, still quite a showery airflow and brisk breezes overnight,
01:37and with the brisk breeze, that helps stir the air up so that temperatures won't get too
01:41low, but still we're looking at the low teens and in some places the single figures and certainly
01:47a fresher feel overnight, a cooler night to come in the south compared with recent nights.
01:53Now we start Wednesday with that cool feel, but with some bright spells, decent sunny spells
01:58for much of Scotland, eastern England for example first thing, the cloud builds and we'll see
02:03further showers for a time, initially the north and west, and then later on more focus towards
02:08central and eastern parts of the UK. Scattered showers in between some bright and dry interludes,
02:14but towards the end of the afternoon it turns wet in the far north-west once again. A cool
02:19feel across the whole of the UK on Wednesday, temperatures a bit lower compared with Tuesday,
02:24mid to high teens generally. The showers in the east continue into the evening, but increasingly
02:29the cloud will break up, the showers will ease off before this next system brings a spell
02:34of wet weather into Scotland, Northern Ireland, Western England and Wales overnight and that
02:39will push across the country through Wednesday night into the start of Thursday. So, yeah,
02:44pretty changeable over the next few days, but we'll all notice that cooler, fresher feel
02:48to things I suspect. Much more as always on our YouTube channel. Bye bye.
