00:00Hi there. It's not unprecedented for temperatures of 27 or 28 Celsius to be recorded in the UK
00:06at this time of year, but it is unusual. These kinds of temperatures in the southeast on
00:11Friday afternoon, way above the seasonal average. That's ahead of a cold front, which is introducing
00:16something a little fresher into the north and west of the UK, and an area of cloud which
00:21will be mostly stalling through northern and central England, parts of Wales and the southwest.
00:26Not much rain on this cold front, but there will be a few spots through parts of Wales,
00:30the Midlands and northern England. Behind the cold front, skies brighten again for Scotland
00:34and Northern Ireland, but with gusty winds bringing in frequent showers across western Scotland
00:39and parts of Northern Ireland. It's going to feel on the cool side, no such cool feeling
00:45in the south and southeast. Ahead of the cold front, high humidities and temperatures widely
00:50into the mid-20s and in one or two of the warmer spots, 27 or 28 Celsius. So really
00:56quite unusually warm for the time of year. Now we follow that cold front through the evening
01:01as it pushes into Wales, the Midlands and then eventually clears eastern England, pepping
01:05up for a time to bring some rain to the likes of Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk. Eventually
01:09it clears. Hang back of cloud, keeping things in the double figures overnight in the southeast,
01:15but with the cooler air spreading south and east elsewhere. Temperatures fairly widely
01:20dipping into the single figures. It stays blustery across Scotland and Northern Ireland with frequent
01:26showers coming through overnight, especially northern and western Scotland. They'll continue
01:30into Saturday morning, one or two showers for northern and western England as well as Wales,
01:35but for much of England and Wales actually it turns into a sunny day with lighter winds feeling
01:41pleasant enough. Scotland and Northern Ireland however see the showers increase in intensity later
01:48in the afternoon with some hail and thunder thrown in as well as gusty winds strengthening through the
01:54afternoon and into the evening. So mid-teens feeling really unpleasant as those showers rattle
02:01through across the northwest. More pleasant further south we've got lighter winds, sunny spells, but a
02:07fresher feel compared with Friday afternoon, 20 to 21 Celsius generally. Now Saturday night brings
02:14extensive clear skies for England and Wales, perhaps some mist and fog forming in places, but for Scotland
02:19and Northern Ireland we keep those blustery showers going and gusty winds for a time at least before
02:25things calm down a little by the end of the night as the next band of rain approaches from the
02:31west.
02:32We'll keep you updated as always on our YouTube channel, but for now that's all for me. Bye bye.
