00:00Hi there, it has been a humid start for many of us this week and this morning, but by the
00:05end of the day I suspect it's going to be feeling noticeably fresher.
00:09It's all because of this cold front which is clearing the more humid air into the continent
00:14and you can see by the change in colours it's certainly going to feel different by the end
00:19of the day with that fresher air making it feel perhaps more autumnal.
00:23Now there's going to be a period of heavy rain associated with the cold front, short
00:27lived, but some intense rain associated with it and a lot of cloud. Eventually that clears
00:33to brighter skies for many parts, although the far north of Scotland is still prone to
00:37some heavy and persistent rain, Shetland and Orkney in particular, along with some very
00:41strong winds touching gale force in exposed spots. Meanwhile, Scotland, Northern Ireland,
00:47Northern England, plenty of showers moving through, frequent and lively downpours, perhaps
00:52some thunder and hail thrown in. One or two showers for Wales and the Midlands, but not
00:56many. Largely it's blue skies for central and western parts of England and Wales. Temperatures
01:03peaking early on I think. They're going to be lowering through the day. High teens to the
01:08north, 22 to 24 further south and southeast and that cooling trend continues over the next
01:15few days. Further showers overnight and certainly a gusty wind blowing across north and northwestern
01:21parts of the country, sending those showers into Scotland, Northern Ireland, Western England
01:25and Wales. Fewer showers, mostly clear spells for the east of England, eastern parts of Scotland.
01:31And under those clear skies, out of the breeze, temperatures falling in rural parts into the
01:36single figures I suspect. More generally, 11 to 13 Celsius and certainly a more comfortable
01:42night for sleeping, not quite as humid. Now we start Wednesday with plenty of bright weather,
01:46sunny spells. Further showers in the north of Scotland into parts of Northern Ireland, Western
01:51England and Wales. They'll be easing through the day, becoming fewer and further between.
01:56Areas of cloud building, but for many it's a dry and bright day for the most part. Still
02:03a few showers around into the afternoon, but not many. We've got this area of rain reaching
02:07the far northwest of Scotland, but actually a quieter end to the day. High teens mostly, 19, 20 Celsius
02:14in the south and southeast. So yeah, certainly feeling cooler compared with recent days. And
02:20we end Wednesday with those showers easing, but the weather chopping and changing for the
02:26rest of the week. That cooler feel until the end of the week, by day and by night. Further
02:30spells of rain, followed by showers, followed by drier and brighter interludes. Classic September
02:35weather in other words.
