00:00Hello, we've almost made it to the weekend, and whilst there will be some showers, even some more persistent rain,
00:05particularly across northern parts further south, it's worth noting things could warm up quite a bit.
00:10But for the time being, well, let's look at the earlier satellite imagery from this morning. You can see a
00:15big swathe of cloud.
00:17We had a frontal system that's pushed its way southeastwards. That's brought some heavy persistent rain across central and some
00:24southern parts through this morning, but it is now clearing away.
00:27Meanwhile, low pressure to the north of the UK brings some blustery, showery weather.
00:31Those showers across northern parts, they will continue through the day.
00:36There could be a bit heavy at times, some rumbles of thunder not out of the question, and with the
00:41blustery winds, well, it is going to be quite gusty, some strong gusts likely here.
00:46Further south, as that front clears way towards the southeast, it will turn markedly drier, but some of the cloud
00:51is going to linger.
00:53Temperatures in the south peaking around 23, maybe 24 Celsius for some, a few degrees fresher than this further north,
01:00mid to high teens, and feeling fresher with those gusty winds and the chance of some hefty showers.
01:05Through the evening and overnight, we are going to see the winds easing a little bit in the north, and
01:10the showers will be easing a bit.
01:12Nonetheless, there will be a fair few showers continuing for many northern parts through much of the night.
01:17It will just be the early hours where we start to see slightly fewer, perhaps.
01:21Central southern parts, though, seeing the cloud clearing away, so a dry night here, and we will have lots of
01:27clear sky.
01:28With fresher air across us and those clear skies, we are going to see temperatures a fair bit lower through
01:34this coming night than last night.
01:36Low double digits for most places, mid-single figures perhaps in a few rural spots, lows of around 6, 7
01:43Celsius, that kind of thing.
01:44So a bit of a fresh start, first thing on Saturday morning.
01:48And then through Saturday itself, well, still some showers across northern, particularly northwestern parts, but not as many as we'll
01:55have seen through today.
01:56They're not going to be as heavy, less likely to be thundery.
01:59But yes, particularly towards northern and western parts of Scotland, a fair few showers continuing into the afternoon.
02:05And it will still be quite blustery, Orkney and Shetland having some gusty winds in particular, but the winds lighter
02:10than today as well.
02:12Central southern areas staying dry, decent amount of sunshine, and here temperatures peaking, well, similar to today, maybe a little
02:18bit higher in some places.
02:20Nonetheless, it's probably going to feel a bit warmer because there'll be more sunshine around compared to today.
02:26But later on Saturday, we will see a bit more cloud and some rain pushing in across parts of Northern
02:32Ireland, and the winds will start to pick up here.
02:35And a lot of this wet weather will then push across parts of Scotland, some western parts of England and
02:40Wales overnight as we go into Sunday.
02:42So a bit of a messy picture across northern parts and some central areas on Sunday with some rain pushing
02:49through.
02:49It could be a bit heavy at times.
02:51Also, we need to watch out for gusty winds, gusts of maybe 50, perhaps even stronger than that, miles per
02:57hour in some places.
02:58So a particularly windy spell, perhaps.
03:01And yes, there will be some rain around, but not everywhere.
03:04In fact, actually, central southern parts look set to stay largely dry again, especially in the far south.
03:10And with that southerly air, we're going to be dragging in warmer air.
03:14Southerly winds, I mean, we're dragging in warmer air.
03:16And so temperatures could get to highs around 27, maybe 28 Celsius.
03:21So feeling very warm, if not hot for some of us here.
03:23A different story further north where, yes, temperatures may be a bit above average.
03:27But with the cloud, the rain and those strong winds, well, it's not going to feel very warm.
03:32There is more changeable weather to come next week.
03:36And things are going to turn fresher through Monday and Tuesday as well.
03:39But if you stick with us on YouTube, well, you'll stay up to date.
03:42Bye bye.
