00:00Hello there. Whilst we are taking quite a few showers into the weekend, it's later on in the weekend where
00:06we're likely to see some more unsettled weather.
00:09And that's due to an area of low pressure which is currently way up to the west of us, out
00:13in the Atlantic.
00:15At the moment, there's an area of low pressure to the north of us.
00:18And it's this that's bringing the blustery, showery weather northern parts have currently.
00:23That is going to clear away, however, and we then see high pressure building from the south.
00:27So things should quieten down, but only for a short period of time before that other low that I mentioned
00:33gets closer.
00:34And that's going to bring some wet weather. Yes, but it's the winds, perhaps, which are going to be more
00:39of a talking point.
00:40It is going to be particularly windy towards the northwest of the UK on Sunday.
00:44Back to the here and now and plenty of showers across the northern half of the UK through this evening
00:49and overnight.
00:50The showers are going to be easing, so there will be slightly fewer of them.
00:54They're not going to be as heavy as they have been during the daytime, but nonetheless, a fair few showers
00:58across northern and western parts of Scotland in particular.
01:01Also some for Northern Ireland, northern and western parts of England and Wales, perhaps, as well.
01:05Further south and east, though, turning, well, largely clear.
01:08Lots of dry weather here, and with those clear skies and fresher air across us, temperatures are going to be
01:14lower than recent nights.
01:15Most towns and cities drop into low double digits, some rural spots mid-single figures, lows of around 5, 6,
01:23maybe 7 Celsius, that kind of thing.
01:25Through Saturday, then, a fair few showers, just not as many as today across north-northwestern parts of the country.
01:32A few showers feeding to eastern parts of Scotland, perhaps, but here it will be a bit brighter and mostly
01:37dry.
01:38The showers across Northern Ireland easing as we go into the afternoon.
01:41And then for central and southern parts of the country, well, here it should stay dry, and there will be
01:46a decent amount of sunshine, more sunshine than we've had through today, actually.
01:50And so, whilst temperatures don't look much higher, it's probably going to feel a bit warmer.
01:55Need to factor in that there will still be a bit of a breeze or some strong winds at times,
01:59especially for Orkney and Shetland.
02:01And elsewhere across northern parts, the winds will be easing for a time, but then they're going to strengthen again
02:06across Northern Ireland through the latter stages of the day.
02:09It's more cloud, more rain pushes its way in because of that low pressure that I highlighted at the start.
02:15That, then, is going to bring more rain to other areas as well.
02:19We'll see cloud and rain spilling its way across parts of Scotland through the early hours of Sunday morning,
02:24and likely to see some wet weather towards the southwest as well.
02:28Further east, it's staying drier and clearer through the night.
02:31So here, again, a bit of a fresh night, perhaps.
02:33A bit milder further west where that cloud, that rain, the strengthening wind, that will stop temperatures from dropping too
02:39low.
02:41Then on Sunday, there will be a bit of rain in the south, some outbreaks of rain,
02:45but perhaps the more persistent, heavier rain will be across parts of Scotland and some feeding into Northern Ireland and
02:52then Western Scotland through the afternoon,
02:54whilst the rain across much of England and Wales, that tries to clear away a bit more towards the northeast.
03:00So turning mostly dry by the afternoon across many parts of England and Wales, a good deal of sunshine.
03:06And we have this southerly flow.
03:07So, yes, we're seeing strong winds, gales, perhaps even stronger than that towards the northwest,
03:11but in the south, with that southerly flow, perhaps a bigger talking point will be the rise in temperatures.
03:17Highs of around 26, 27, possibly 28 Celsius, even a little bit hotter than that, can't be ruled out.
03:23And with that sunshine, it is going to feel very warm, if not hot.
03:27Just a different story where it's wet and it's windy towards the northwest of the UK.
03:32That area of low pressure that's bringing the unsettled weather through Sunday,
03:37that continues to dominate as we go through into the beginning of next week.
03:41But we do see most of the rain clearing away.
03:44However, there is likely to be another weather system approaching as we go towards maybe later stages of Monday
03:51and more so into Tuesday.
03:53So potential for some more unsettled weather to arrive then.
03:56Stick with us and we'll keep you updated on that through the weekend.
03:59See you again soon. Bye bye.
