00:00Good afternoon. Well, the weather is bringing a decidedly grey feel to this Blue Monday,
00:05but I think the lucky few of us will see some sunshine. We've got a southerly wind,
00:09so that means more north-facing coasts will see some brighter spells. Parts of northern Scotland,
00:14north Devon, parts of Wales as well, the far west and north of Wales, will see some brightness.
00:19But I think for most of us, it's going to be a cloudy day, quite a damp day as well
00:24across many western areas into northern Ireland, central areas of Wales, down across the south
00:28coast as well. And this cloud here across central and eastern parts of England will be quite thick.
00:34We could see mist and fog lasting for much of the day. So pretty grey afternoon to come,
00:40unfortunately. And temperatures, not much to say about those, to be honest. Eight or nine degrees
00:45is around average for the time of year. And despite any brighter spells across the north,
00:49temperatures across northern Scotland struggling to get above zero. So pretty fresh day for these
00:54areas. But it will remain bright for many northern areas into this evening. However,
00:59as the night goes on, that band of rain will continue northwards, pushing into parts of Scotland
01:03and northern England. It will become drier behind that across Wales and central England,
01:08as well as northern Ireland. But the winds will also start to pick up. So that should pick up the
01:13cloud. So we're not expecting too much in the way of mist and fog to start Tuesday. And we're not
01:18expecting too much frost either because of those strengthening winds. Just the far north of Scotland
01:22could potentially see a touch of frost by tomorrow morning. So a bit of a drier start to the day
01:28for more central and western areas. But it's not going to last all that long as this area of low
01:34pressure pushes in from the west, bringing with it strengthening winds. We do have a wind warning
01:38in force for western areas. But ahead of this area of low pressure, it will be actually a pretty dry
01:44and bright day, albeit fairly breezy. But actually some sunny spells coming and going through much of the
01:50day. Certainly a brighter day on Tuesday compared to today for many eastern areas. But across the
01:57west, a pretty unsettled end to the day. The winds are really going to start to pick up into the
02:02afternoon. Let's have a closer look at those wind gusts. You can see a spell of 60 to 65 miles per
02:08hour winds will affect many western areas through Tuesday. And as we're still recovering from storm
02:13Goretti across parts of Devon and Cornwall, we could see some further disruption here. And then those strong
02:18winds actually move into parts of eastern Scotland. And as that area of low pressure pushes up, these
02:23areas will also see some fairly heavy rain. And it's rain that becomes the focus as we head towards
02:28the end of the week. We could see some impacts, particularly across eastern areas of Scotland.
