00:00how dare you that's like the meanest thing you can do oh it's so mean in a world so mean
00:04where
00:05twitter routinely says things to other grown adults that are so much meaner than this sound
00:12so much so much worse booing is apparently just beyond the pale in 2026 munkin lost a lot of
00:22points for me in the past couple days munkin won a lot of points for me though in that idea
00:26of
00:27basically standing up for the booze standing up for the idea that you pay your money to get into
00:31the stadium if you want to boo that is perfectly acceptable it is on us to make sure that you
00:35don't boo i vacillated all over the place with todd munkin because i did like those comments and i i
00:41thought he was trying to approach the deshaun side of things yesterday in his press conference because
00:47why we had back-to-back days of press conference i'll never know could have just waited till today
00:51cleanup job but it didn't if we have so many press conferences that you can't know which one you're
00:56referencing saturdays start to go away pretty quickly uh points taken that went well done by
01:01you sir uh but i thought he tried to handle it in a human way the problem is when he
01:07was like you
01:07know nobody likes to be booed and that was just an emotional response a little bit of an oversimplification
01:13of the deshaun experience for your average browns fan and probably for deshaun himself as well you see
01:17if they throw so many different directions at us as to what he actually said we're just going to have
01:21it all blend together and then it's going to be like wait but hold on he really had this impassioned
01:25speech about the idea that we have to be better and you you earn the right as a fan to
01:30boo and
01:30booing is acceptable but also trying to cover up for deshaun which is why i also like that you know
01:35they've they've changed the madman slogan which is if you don't like what people are saying about you
01:39change the conversation uh this would be if you don't like what people are saying about you
01:44have 75 conversations hurled at them so they can't keep track of the plot it's like daryl and his
01:50takes it's true you know one day he says fun thing the next day it's the opposite the next day
01:54it's the
01:55different thing it's how you're gonna keep track hmm 216 474 0092 are you willing to give deshaun a
02:02chance here was deshaun watson addressing his post game comments from saturday today i think just you
02:09know human nature just myself being very emotional putting a lot of time these last two years to you
02:14know get back and you know spend time in this facility in the city meeting a lot of different
02:19people in the community you know i thought i was going to get uh you know a little different response
02:24but uh you know i think you know my emotions got the best of me and um you know i
02:29wasn't my comments
02:30wasn't intending to go at any of the fans around in the city because there's been a lot of great
02:35fans
02:35that have been supporting me now you've mentioned this the lack of self-awareness from deshaun yeah
02:40um meeting a few people out and about doesn't mean people are rooting for you people excited to see
02:46you again and specifically deshaun has been sheltered not just not just really the last couple years here
02:54the entire time he's been here if you look at his availability compared to what we expected from baker
02:59as specifically in the off season and opportunities to meet with the media or to meet with fans outside of
03:06team-controlled events and team-controlled content he hasn't done it and so the why that matters is
03:14you can on the team-friendly the politburo network that they have over there you only reach so many
03:21people so you can't really say you tried if you just started trying recently by the way or if you
03:27only went into safe havens so i don't and and i think there's this part of me that's like the
03:33human
03:33part of me is like well i don't really have a choice in this so i might as well accept
03:36the
03:37apology and go on then the other part of me goes no to hell with that he meant what he
03:42said on saturday
03:43and at least if he had the the cojones to stand on that business i might be more respectful of
03:50the
03:50whole thing today than what happened today where it was like no i didn't mean it yes you did
03:56all five years in the same way that those boos were about five years of crap you what you said
04:02was a hundred percent truthful and all the way your five years back at us that's at least honest
04:08that's at least something i can respect not that oh i just emotional guy said it no that's hogwash
04:16it would have been funny if you said emotionally hijacked and just stole munkin's line directly
04:19uh it's so it's interesting because i i really thought that he was just living in his own bubble and
04:25that's
04:25what a lot of this stems from is the idea that uh when you're as rich as he is you
04:29can just surround
04:29yourself with a bunch of yes men and a bunch of people that will tell you that you're great and
04:32the world and the world has forgotten any of your past transgressions and you're you're a good person
04:39and honestly from a mental health standpoint like for deshaun i actually kind of think that's
04:44the doradi should go for a few years and probably should have gone for a few years and but i'm
04:48worried
04:48that he he stuck himself in that incubator for a little bit too long and he started to convince
04:52himself that not only was he this great person uh but he was also a great football player and he
04:56was beloved by a fan base that wants nothing to do with him and that's where he's obviously just way
05:00wrong in all this and so yeah if you believed that the the browns fans liked you then saturday
05:06should have come by surprise as you didn't even do anything and you're on the field and then getting
05:11booed uh yeah of course that would come as a shock i just don't know how you don't have anyone
05:15in your life telling you this is going to happen and how you don't believe i just think what's crazy
05:19about it i really do think deshaun still thinks he's a victim in all of this well that's how it
05:24comes across but like it comes across like he thinks he's a victim what happened in houston um
05:28that's that's why people continue to dislike him as much as they do though yes there's been zero
05:32accountability across the board by deshaun in any of this and that goes back to the initial stuff
05:36with the allegations and everything where he just refused to even say i did anything wrong or my part
05:42of this wasn't great etc or what did you learn from it he wouldn't do any of that even if
05:47you didn't
05:48just accept hey i accept responsibility um and things were taken out of whatever even if you
05:53didn't do that what have you learned from this you didn't learn a damn thing you've been sheltered
05:58you've been cloistered away from browns fans and so the idea that you would be surprised because you
06:04went to a couple restaurants in town and a couple of people who liked you before who never believed
06:10those allegations the idea that that's what people feel is just so honestly it's sad
06:17you are not the victim deshaun you aren't right and even when he says oh i chose cleveland deshaun
06:24just for once in your life be incredibly honest you chose because they agreed to give you 235 million
06:30dollars you wanted to go to atlanta you wanted to stay in the south which is fine by the way
06:35there's
06:36plenty of people who've never been to cleveland who want to stay in the south it's okay but stop doing
06:40the oh i chose cleveland because i wanted to bring honor to browns fans like hell you did like and
06:46i just
06:46i think that's the part is the only thing i liked about saturday from deshaun is it was something
06:51honest everything else i've heard from him has been cliched or why me crap and that's why by the way
06:59things will not be different when he hits the field for the browns in in early september because he
07:05honestly thinks he is being tread upon by browns fans by cleveland by the nfl by everything he has never
07:14accepted accountability for his own actions and i'm talking about even his bad play it was the
07:22offense it was this it was that no deshaun you're the common denominator in this whole multitude of
07:29suck well and so the other part of this then is the idea that uh within that conversation and him
07:35trying to explain everything on saturday he then tried to make it seem as if it was something that it
07:40was personal that it didn't involve his play and that i think that if that didn't infuriate browns
07:45fans i don't know what will because there's enough browns fans out there that legitimately were like
07:49we'll give you a chance allegations be damned i don't ask you to come to my house for dinner i
07:54just
07:54want you to be a good quarterback and he's been an awful quarterback one of the worst in the sport
07:58in his time that he's been here and to try to pivot to the idea that everyone just made up
08:02their
08:02mind off of allegations and other things outside of the football field it's just not accurate like
08:07your play mixed with that is why a lot of people don't like you but for enough browns fans alone
08:12your play is more than enough to be like this guy stinks
