00:21For round one, you're going to start with the center of the flower. I'm using yellow here.
00:26You're going to begin with a magic ring, and in the magic ring, you're going to single crochet eight.
00:34So here's my slip knot to start my magic ring, and now we're going to insert eight single crochets.
00:41That's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight.
01:00Then you're going to tighten your ring, and to finish off, you're going to insert a slip stitch into the
01:12first single crochet that you made.
01:17And before I finish the slip stitch, I'm actually going to join the next color for my granny square here.
01:24For round two, I'm going to make the petals of the flower using pink.
01:29So I'm going to join using the pink yarn, finishing off the slip stitch in round one, like so.
01:38And here, we're going to start with some double crochet clusters.
01:42For the very first one, you're going to chain three.
01:47That acts as the first double crochet cluster portion.
01:53And then you're going to yarn over, insert your hook into the same stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop,
02:01yarn over, go through the first two loops.
02:05Don't finish your double crochet yet.
02:07Don't finish your double crochet yet. We're going to do this again two more times.
02:10So yarn over, insert, pull out your loop, go into the first two loops.
02:17Now you have three loops on your hook.
02:20Last time, yarn over, pull through a loop, go through the first two loops.
02:25Now you have four loops on your hook.
02:28I'm going to yarn over and pull through all four loops.
02:33Then you're going to chain two.
02:36And we're going to do double crochet clusters all the way around.
02:40Now that was three double crochet clusters together, because the starting chain counted as the fourth one.
02:47But for these consequent clusters, for the next seven, you're going to do four double crochet clusters.
02:55So we're going to yarn over, and I'll show you that in slow motion again.
03:00Insert your hook into the stitch.
03:03Yarn over, pull up a loop.
03:05Yarn over, go through the first two loops.
03:09All right, two loops on your hook.
03:11We're going to repeat this three more times for a total of four times.
03:16Yarn over, insert your hook into the same stitch.
03:19Yarn over, pull up a loop.
03:21Yarn over, go through the first two loops.
03:32And I'm going to yarn over, go through all five loops.
03:50You can give your hook a little wiggle.
03:52If it's having a hard time going through.
03:55And then you're going to chain two to close off.
04:00And we're repeating this all the way around.
04:03So we're making these double crochet clusters and two chains in between.
04:09So that's one, two, three, and four.
04:21And I'm going to go through my whole double crochet cluster here.
04:25Chain two, and starting on my next one.
04:31One, two, three, and four.
04:40And going through all of the loops.
04:43Chain two.
04:53Again, we're going to repeat this all the way around until we have eight double crochet clusters.
05:03Here is a look at round two with my eight petals.
05:08And, or my eight double crochet clusters.
05:11And my final chain two here.
05:13Now I'm going to join with a slip stitch to the very top of the double crochet, or the first
05:19double crochet cluster I made.
05:25Like so.
05:27And then, what I'm going to do is I'm going to insert my hook into the chain two gap.
05:33As you can see, it's the chain two gap between the two double crochet clusters.
05:40And in this chain two gap, I'm going to join with new yarn.
05:44And that's going to be starting round three.
05:47So I'm going to start round three, or I'm going to use white for round three.
05:51So joining with white here.
05:56And now, inside this chain two gap is where we're going to work the next stitches.
06:02We're going to start with five chains.
06:05That's one, two, three, four, and five.
06:10And that's three chains.
06:12That will be the first double crochet.
06:14And two chains that are going to act as the chain two gap in between.
06:19It's going to make sense in a little bit.
06:22But we're essentially making part of the corner of the granny square right now.
06:27And what you're going to do is insert three double crochets into this same chain two space.
06:33So I'm going to work three double crochets right in here.
06:38That's one, two, and three.
06:52Oops.
07:07Then you're going to work three double crochets in the next chain two gap.
07:12So don't go into any of the double crochet clusters here.
07:16You're just going to work in the chain two gaps.
07:19So in here, I'm going to put one, two, and three double crochets.
07:30And that's that.
07:31In the next chain two gap, we're going to make another corner.
07:35That's going to be three double crochets, two chains, and three double crochets.
07:43Here I have my three double crochets made.
07:46So I'm going to chain two now.
07:48One and two.
07:50And then insert three more double crochets.
08:00As you can see, when you do that, your piece makes this nice little 90 degree shape.
08:07And that's the corner of your granny square.
08:10Now we're going to insert three double crochets into the next chain two gap.
08:26Make a corner into the next chain two gap.
08:30So three double crochets, two chains, and three double crochets again.
08:36And then before we special Medicare 500 gaps.
08:41I'm going to invite the bottom two slash perdre four flocks.
08:42And in this chain one,
08:42we're going to choose a pin call from close to close to close to close.
08:52And this chain two points,
08:54we want to place the Railroad due to close to close to close.
08:54So i'm going to go back here.
08:57And this one.
09:08Then you're going to insert 3 double crochets into the next chain 2 gap.
09:24And then another corner into the next chain 2 gap.
09:29Again, that's 3 double crochets, 2 chains, and 3 double crochets.
09:51And in the last chain 2 gap, you're going to insert 3 double crochets.
10:04And remember the first double crochet you made with the chain 3?
10:11You're going to insert now the final 2 double crochets to make up that last corner.
10:19So go into that first chain 2 gap that you made your first stitches in for round 3.
10:27And in that first chain 2 gap, you're going to insert 2 final double crochets.
10:43After you do that, you're going to join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain 3.
10:51So here are the 2 chains of my chain 5.
10:55We want to keep those open.
10:58So go into that top of the third chain there.
11:03Like so.
11:06And that is going to be that for your little granny square.
11:12Tighten your ring if your magic ring in the beginning got loosened up.
11:18And now's a good time to fasten off and weave in all the ends.
11:26Here's the square a little cleaned up with the ends woven in, tied back, and cut off.
11:35Hope you enjoyed crocheting this beautiful little square with me.
