00:27I'm starting with pink for the inner
00:29ear. For the inner ear, you're going to first begin with a slipknot, and then chain two.
00:38And that second chain from the hook is where you're going to insert all the
00:42stitches. And first start off with a single crochet,
00:48then a half double crochet,
00:52a double crochet,
01:02then you're going to make a chain, and then a triple crochet.
01:13Make a chain, and then triple crochet again.
01:23Make a chain, and then you're going to double crochet,
01:35then make a half double crochet,
01:40and lastly a single crochet. And you're going to finish by joining with a slip stitch to the first
01:48single crochet stitch.
01:52After you finish that, the ear is going to be, it won't be completely flat. It's going to curve in
01:59a
01:59little, and that's natural. And you're going to want to fasten off with a bit of a tail,
02:04so that you can weave it in later. You will not be using this tail for sewing.
02:12Next, we're going to crochet the outer ear portion using the color you want for the outer ear.
02:19The outer ear is going to be a little bit different.
02:23Use the color that you want to make the outer ear. I'm using a purple chanel velvet here.
02:31To begin, make a slip knot, and then you're going to chain two.
02:37Work in the second chain from the hook.
02:40In the second chain from the hook, you're going to make a single crochet,
02:45a half double crochet, a double crochet.
02:53Then you're going to make a chain, and then you're going to insert three triple crochets next.
02:59So that's one,
03:05two,
03:10and three triple crochets.
03:15Then you're going to make a chain, make a double crochet, a half double crochet,
03:25a single crochet,
03:29and you're going to join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.
03:36And now you have the outer ear complete.
03:40Now that you have both the inner and outer ear parts complete,
03:44we're going to crochet them together.
03:47You're going to take the wrong side of the inner ear.
03:52This is the right side, and here's the wrong side.
03:55So place the wrong side of the inner ear against the wrong side of the outer ear.
04:02And let me just take a look here.
04:04Okay, so here's the right side of my inner outer ear, and here's the wrong side.
04:09So you're going to place the two wrong sides together.
04:12So you're basically going to match up those two pieces.
04:17And let me look here to see where.
04:20All right, so here is where my half double crochet stitch is.
04:24And I'm going to go into the half double crochet stitch
04:28in the outer ear or inner ear part.
04:33And what I'm going to do is after you insert your hook through both pieces,
04:37you're going to single crochet.
04:39And we're basically single crocheting all the way around the entire ear,
04:44going through both layers so that you can crochet the two layers together.
04:50So now I'm going to make a single crochet.
04:55And in the next stitch,
04:58again, go through both layers, make a single crochet again.
05:04And we're going to keep working around.
05:08And we're going to keep working around.
05:37Here I've made it all the way to the very end.
05:42And optionally, you can join with a slip stitch to the first stitch.
05:48And you'll want to fasten off with a long yarn tail because you're going to use this long yarn tail
05:55to sew the ear onto the head.
05:59So here's a look at the back of the ear.
06:05And here's the front of the ear.
06:08As you can see, with the two pieces crocheted together,
06:11they aren't going to lay completely flat.
06:14It will be slightly curved.
06:17You'll want to push the inner ear piece in so that it has this nice curve to the ear, as
06:25you can see.
06:27And when you sew your piece in, you're also going to weave in these ends,
06:32or you can tie them and pull them into the ear piece.
06:40We're going to crochet the loop onto the scarf.
06:44You should have the body piece finished before you do the loop.
06:48The arms will be, of course, attached to the body here.
06:53And we're counting from the body's round one, upwards to round four.
06:58Here's one, two, three, and four.
07:02So I've got my hook underneath a loop or a stitch in round four.
07:07And you'll want to find a stitch that is close to the center of the round.
07:13And you're going to pull the main color yarn through.
07:18I'm using purple here.
07:21Have a bit of a tail because you're going to use it to tie and weave in later.
07:25You're going to make a chain.
07:27In here, I'm just chaining until I reach this side.
07:31So let's see.
07:32That's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
07:41Eight single crochets is about what I need to get to the round one here.
07:48I'm just going to insert my hook under a stitch in round one.
07:52Or you can actually, there we go.
07:55At the very start of round one here.
07:58And I'm going to go ahead and pull through for a slip stitch.
08:05And as I do that, you can see here that you've got this loop going.
08:13And what you can do to reinforce the loop is to now work back,
08:19inserting a slip stitch in each of the chains,
08:24going back towards the beginning where you started.
08:29So I'm slip stitching in each chain here.
08:41And at the very end, you'll want to fasten off with a long loop
08:45to tie the loose ends together and weave it in.
08:50But there you have it.
08:52There's that loop, as you can see, right underneath the body.
