00:09welcome to part 3 of the pocket pony series in this video tutorial we're going to crochet the
00:15ears and the feet just as a friendly reminder there's a PDF pattern for instant download it's
00:23inexpensive ad-free printable and has lots of photo references it also includes two versions
00:29of the pocket pony if you're interested check out the link in the description box below now let's
00:35begin let's crochet the ears for the ears we're going to insert our hook into a stitch in round
00:459 so getting from the front that's 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and 9 and you're going
00:56to want to insert your
00:58hook into the stitch that you want the ears to come out of so for instance I'd like my ears
01:05to
01:05be about this high up on the head so I'm going to insert my hook here now do keep in
01:11mind that you
01:12are going to be making two ears and you'll need a little bit of space in the middle to crochet
01:18the
01:18main so you don't want them so close together that you cannot crochet the main in the center
01:25okay so when you're ready go ahead and attach the yarn you want I'm using the same yarn color as
01:32the body
01:33and the head when you're ready to start you're going to yarn over insert your hook into the same stitch
01:46yarn over yarn over and pull up a loop this will give you three loops on your hook one two
01:53and three
01:54then you're going to yarn over and pull through all three loops like so then we're going to make a
02:02chain
02:02to kind of secure that um little puff insert your hook into the same stitch that you started out of
02:10and we're going to make a slip stitch oops sorry my yarn was slippery there okay let's make that slip
02:20stitch
02:33after you do that you're going to fasten off by um trimming the yarn tail I want to leave a
02:39long
02:39enough yarn tail to kind of pull through and what I like to do is to simply pull it through
02:45the opening
02:45of the head and I will just tie a knot inside so that it stays nice and secure
03:06like so
03:14so that's that for one ear as you can see it is super quick and easy to do
03:23now we're going to go ahead and crochet the second ear the second ear is done exactly the same you're
03:30going to go back to a stitch in round nine and you're going to want to make sure that it
03:35is um
03:38about the same oops sorry about the same um height as your other ear and um do have some space
03:47in
03:48between the ears so that you can crochet the main all right when you're ready um let's go through the
03:56process again we're going to pull yarn through then yarn over insert your hook into the same stitch
04:03yarn over and pull up a loop yarn over pull through all three loops chain and then slip stitch back
04:12into
04:12the same stitch now you're going to fasten off with a little bit of a tail so that you can
04:19tie the ends
04:20together after you pull them into the head
04:35now here's a look at the finished ears
05:07now
05:09now let's crochet the feet for the feet um you're going to use the same puff stitch for the both
05:16the
05:16front feet and the back feet and the front feet will be crocheted over round seven of the body
05:23and the back feet over round three of the body so counting from the um round one that's round one
05:32two three four five six and seven and so this is where the front feet will go and you're going
05:41to want
05:41to kind of see where you want it to be positioned for instance if you want the feet to be
05:47more towards
05:48the side of the body or if you want it to be more positioned underneath the body so it's really
05:54up to
05:55you so once you're happy with where you want the foot to go you're going to attach yarn i'm using
06:03the same color as the body here
06:08and then you're going to make a puff for the puff stitch you're going to yarn over insert your hook
06:16into the same stitch yarn over and pull up a loop repeat this step for a total of four times
06:26so that was one now here's two yarn over insert into the same oops yarn over
06:34insert into the same stitch yarn over and pull up a loop now here's three yarn over insert into the
06:43same
06:43stitch yarn over pull up a loop and now here's four yarn over insert into the same stitch yarn over
06:53and pull
06:54up a loop there's going to be nine loops total on your hook and um tip i have is to
07:01actually pull
07:02the loops a little bit um further out this will loosen your tension if you have um really tight
07:12tension it's going to be hard for you to yarn over and pull through all of those loops which is
07:18what
07:18we're doing next and um i know that this part may be tricky what you can also do is to
07:26wiggle the head
07:27of your hook through all of those loops so tug on your loops yarn over and then you're going to
07:35wiggle
07:36your crochet head right through then um when you finish your puff you're going to make a chain to close
07:44it and we're going to insert our hook back into the same stitch for a slip stitch to finish
07:53so here's my slip stitch so here's my slip stitch and now i'm going to fasten off with um somewhat
08:00of a
08:00tail and you're going to pull um the loops the sorry pull the yarn ends into the body weaving them
08:12in
08:19and um after you weave in the ends you'll see that you have a nice little puffy foot
08:32and that's that for the foot you can go ahead and repeat the same directions on all
08:40um sides so that you have a total of four feet remember you're crocheting the front legs over
08:49round seven and you're crocheting the back legs over round three of your amigurumi so i would line it up
09:00and do the back legs next we'll meet back when all of the feet are finished
