00:18I went to so many Warped Tours, and I remember seeing you guys there, and I'm just wondering,
00:25do you have any specific memories from those times at Warped Tour that stand out?
00:32Hot port-a-potties, baby.

00:38In the dead of the heat.
00:39Oh, yeah, taking a poo-poo.

00:41I think it's still happening.

00:48You can walk in there and have air conditioning, so that is good.
00:51We didn't have this.
00:51We just had broken buses.

01:00It was definitely such a different vibe from going on buses and really just having to hoof
01:07it and stuff to doing it in 2026.
01:09But how do you feel to be here today?
01:11We're so stoked.
01:12This is a blast from the past.
01:14All of our friends and family are here.

01:17It's just like a big family reunion.
01:19We're loving it.
01:20Hell, yeah.
01:20And right when you guys sat down, Goldfinger was playing.
01:24And so we just felt like this was a full circle moment with John Feldman, of course,
01:28producing that first album, the self-titled John Feldman.
01:32We love you, John.
01:33So how do you guys feel, you know, playing these songs?
01:37You know, you just did that 25th anniversary run.
01:41How does it feel to be able to, you know, play those songs?
01:43What's your relationship like with doing those today versus back in the day?
01:47All the songs take on such new meanings after all these years.
01:51And it's really cool to connect with that nostalgia of the past and feel what it really meant to you
01:57then
01:57and feel what it means to you now.
01:58It's awesome.
01:59Is there a song that you play now that just completely means something different to you than it did then?
02:07Yeah, I think in a weird way, The Taste of Ink is that for me.
02:11It's like I was stuck in this really dark place and I had no outs.
02:16And now I'm not at all.
02:18So it just takes on a totally different meaning.
02:21I love it.
02:22Well, it's great.
02:23You know, it's just so cool to see you doing so well and thriving.
02:27Oh, thank you.
02:27And, you know, for you guys, like, do you remember the band that you saw
02:31or maybe the festival that you went to when you were younger
02:35and you just knew in that moment, I want to do this?
02:38I saw Michael Jackson singing on stage when I was eight years old.
02:43Did you really?
02:44I did.
02:44And in that moment, I was like, that's what I'm going to do with my life.
02:47I'm going to make people smile like that.
02:49Oh, my God.
02:50Well, then you do it.
02:51But at Warped Tour, I saw Chino from the Deftones jump off the top speaker stack.
02:55And I'm like, that's going to be me.
02:56I think I was at that Warped Tour, too, pretty sure.
02:58Yeah.
02:59That is my all-time favorite band is Deftones.

03:06You guys got to come to Dia de los Deftones in November.

03:11Is there any bands you remember seeing?
03:13Mine was a VHS tape.
03:15It was Van Halen.
03:16And I literally said the same thing.
03:17I'm like, I'm going to play drums like that guy.
03:19And Alex Van Halen changed my life.
03:21Hell yeah.
03:22Sort of.
03:22Just kidding.
03:23Yeah.
03:23I didn't get to see too many bands growing up because of where I lived.
03:26I didn't have any money to go anywhere.
03:27Couldn't really travel anywhere either.
03:29But definitely listening to Nirvana back in the day, sort of, you know, in the 90s, that
03:33was kind of it, you know?
03:35Yeah.
03:36What about first craziest pit that you ever experienced?
03:42Oh, I have a good one.
03:43I was just telling the guys.
03:44Before I was with the band in 2006, I think it was, I caught the band at Warped Tour and
03:50they had a circle pitting around the soundboard.
03:53It was probably 5,000 people deep in this pit, but genuinely one of my favorite moments ever.
03:58And, of course, I would end up in the band from that.
04:01It was amazing.
04:03I love it.
04:03So, I guess the last album came out a couple of years ago now.
04:08So, what's going on with the used?
04:10We're going to the studio in three days.
04:11What?
04:12Three days.
04:13Oh, my God.
04:14Ladies and gentlemen.
04:14Going to go to Philadelphia and record with Will Yip.
04:16So, I don't know if you know who Will Yip is.
04:17Yes.
04:18He worked on the Turnstile record, I think.
04:21Yeah.
04:21Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:22He's a talented boy.
04:23Such a good homie.
04:25And a ton more bands he works with.
04:26They're great.
04:27We're really excited to get back to something really raw and nasty and something like the
04:32first couple of records, you know?
04:34Hell, yeah.

04:35Mostly black metal, too.
04:36We're going to go the black metal route.
04:37Yeah, black metal.
04:38I'm into it.
04:39I'm feeling it.
04:39And just the last question that I want to ask you, Bert, because you put out a book in
04:43February, and it was a lost notebook that found itself back to you.
04:48Yes.
04:48Is that true?
04:49Yeah.
04:49How did that happen?
04:50It's a long story.
04:52My mom keeps a box full of stuff in her basement of, like, used memorabilia.
04:57And my brother was showing his friend and just giving things away.
05:00And he gave away the journal, the notebook.
05:04And so it was a big, long ordeal.
05:06We tracked it down.
05:07We found the guy.
05:08Was he trying to sell it?
05:09He was trying to sell it online.
05:10Oh, snap.
05:11Oh, my God.
05:12He was trying to sell it online for, like, $10,000.
05:14Oh, my God.
05:16So we bought four copies.
05:18So we bought it.
05:1840 grand.
05:19We bought it.
05:20So you haggled with him.
05:21So he was nice enough to give it back for free.
05:25Oh, my God.
05:26So we have that as a little time capsule.
05:28It's really cool.
05:29That is a beautiful thing.
05:30And you guys, your music has really changed my life.
05:34It's helped me in so many ways.
05:36Also, being in recovery, just relating to you at that time, relating to you now.
05:41And I'm just so excited, along with so many people, to see you guys today.
