00:05and I managed to snag Pierre from Simple Plan.
00:09I found you in catering. Yeah, we did it. And I said, hey dude, do you want to come do
00:14an interview? And you said yes.
00:16K-Rock. You were the coolest. Yeah, thank you very much. I try. And I know that they say that
00:20there's no headliner at Warped Tour.
00:23There is none. But I will say the band who is going to be last on the stage tonight is
00:27Simple Plan.
00:28Yes. I mean, you can call it that or you can call it the walkout music. You know what I
00:31mean?
00:32The walkout? No way. No, that's the stay and watch the whole set and then walk out.
00:36Yeah, we're just really excited to be here. We played a lot of Warped Tours in the past and it's
00:40nice to be here.
00:41It's going to be dark. It's going to be cooler. It's going to be awesome.
00:44It's going to be so great. And you were telling me that you were the second most, the band that
00:50has played Warped Tour second in line.
00:52Yeah, the most appearances at Warped Tour. I think at first is Less Than Jake.
00:57Oh my gosh. Give it up for Less Than Jake.
00:58Yeah, Less Than Jake.
01:00And then Simple Plan.
01:02Oh my gosh.
01:03Kind of like a real Warped Tour band. It's awesome.
01:05Do you have any standout memories from past Warped Tours or is it all a blur?
01:10So many. You know, when the band first came out, we did all the Warped Tours and it's kind of
01:16like the home where Simple Plan was able to find a fan base.
01:19And to just feel like we were part of something. But also, I had a band before, Simple Plan, that
01:24played on Warped Tour like in 97.
01:27Oh my God.
01:28It was called Reset. It was in Montreal. And we got the call in the morning from my manager.
01:33It was like, get in the van. You're playing Warped Tour this morning. And we played it as the doors
01:37opened.
01:37And back then, it was like, you know, Pennywise, face-to-face, no effects, all those guys.
01:41So that was super. So I've been, you know, going to Warped Tour, being part of Warped Tour for 30
01:46years.
01:47Oh my God.
01:48Oh my God. Well, you look great. So that's a good thing.
01:51Thank you very much.
01:51Yeah.
01:52And you guys have been very busy. You're on tour right now.
01:57Yep. Tour started yesterday in Las Vegas. The bigger than you think.
02:00The sequel, because we did this tour last year with Bowling for Soup and 303.
02:05And it was so great. And we had a girl called Lolo. You know Lolo.
02:08Uh-huh.
02:09And she was on it last year. She's not on it this year, unfortunately.
02:11But we did it last year and it went so well that we decided to do it again this year
02:15and hit all the cities that we didn't hit last year.
02:18Oh, nice.
02:19So it's like from now, from yesterday, all the way till like August 20th, we're going on, we're playing a
02:24show in Central Park.
02:25We're playing San Diego tomorrow. We're playing San Jose.
02:28All kinds of great places. So it's going to be super fun.
02:31What does it feel like to be, you know, still doing this after all these years?
02:35Do you still love it as much? Do you still feel inspired?
02:38To me, I feel like after all these years, the biggest difference is that I am old enough and have
02:44enough life experience to realize how fortunate we are.
02:48Back when we started, we were having a good time.
02:50But I think now I have kids. I have, you know, this whole life that I've been through.
02:56And I've just, the fact that we can be here and play the biggest shows of our career at this
03:00point, I think I have maybe a little bit of wisdom.
03:03I don't want to sound too boastful, but a little bit of wisdom to realize how lucky we are to
03:07be here and just I enjoy it more than I used to because I'm on stage.
03:12And now because, you know, we're a little wiser, we're like everyone's healthy backstage and like smoothies and like yoga
03:20and like just working out.
03:22So the reality is that our show, I think, is better.
03:25I think we're singing better than we used to.
03:27We're playing better than we used to.
03:28The production is better.
03:30So I think it's, to me, it's very, it feels really nice to be able to be out here and
03:35really appreciate it.
03:36As opposed to being a young kid just going like, yeah, totally.
03:39Now I'm enjoying it.
03:41Well, I'm so excited to watch you guys tonight.
03:43And are you working on some new music as well?
03:46Yeah, we spent the last few months writing a bunch of music.
03:48We've got like 15 songs or so that we love and we're going to start recording next year.
03:52So right now we're on tour.
03:53We're going to Europe after this.
03:55Then we're going to Southeast Asia.
03:56And there's more dates I can't talk about just yet.
03:58So we're packed all the way to Christmas.
04:00So probably like next year early, we'll start recording and come out with some new music as soon as possible.
04:06Well, we had a documentary that came out last year on Prime Video.
04:10Had a new song on that called Nothing Changes.
04:11We're playing that tonight.
04:13So we're always, we're just more and more stuff.
04:16There's two other really cool things that are coming out by Simple Plan soon, but I can't talk about them
04:20yet.
04:20But there's so much in the pipeline.
04:23And like I said, we're just grateful to be here.
