00:21Well, you look great. So that's all that matters.
00:24So how did it feel? Because this was obviously your very first time playing Warped Tour.
00:28No. Last year, Long Beach was my first festival ever.
00:33Let's do that again. Hey, last year was your first festival ever.
00:37You nailed it. My first festival ever was Long Beach Warped Tour last year.
00:41I played Orlando and then this year I played D.C.
00:45I'm on all of them this year.
00:46Oh, great. This one and three more, right? Montreal and Orlando.
00:51And so when you were growing up, did it mean a lot?
00:54You were aware of Warped Tour, obviously. Did you ever go when you were younger?
00:57I was like a hip-hop kid growing up.
00:59I was a rock kid, but then I transitioned over to a lot of hip-hop.
01:03Yep.
01:03So I kind of missed out.
01:05So the fact that it is back now, I feel like I'm getting to live it up and experience it
01:10like everybody.
01:11You're running into people that you know around here?
01:14Yeah. Sadly, we all played at the same time, though.
01:16Me and all my friends.
01:17Like, I never get to see them perform.
01:21And sadly, one of my favorite bands ever is Third Eye Blind.
01:24And they're playing tomorrow.
01:26You can't make it tomorrow.
01:28But it makes so much sense that, you know, you were a hip-hop guy and then you got into
01:33rock.
01:33Because your music is very genre-bending.
01:36Yeah.
01:37It's kind of like a mixture of my whole journey.
01:39It really is.
01:40And especially your new stuff, you know, it's a little bit more, it's harder.
01:45You have a song that I really love called Blink Twice that reminds me of my favorite band, Deftones.
01:51So tell us about the new album that you have coming out.
01:55It comes out August 5th.
01:56It's called Chin Up Beautiful.
01:58And I feel like I have been, I've had my head down touring and dropping music for the past few
02:05years.
02:06So this album, I actually got to lock in and, like, make an album instead of just, like, throwing songs
02:13out and packaging them.
02:15And it wasn't split up with touring and everything else?
02:17It was, like, I got to, like, get a little bit more conceptual and build a world.
02:21And then, like, you know, build the world visually as well with a rollout of videos that really go with
02:28what I was trying to achieve with the album.
02:30So I'm the most proud of this body of work, of anything I've ever done.
02:36And, yeah, I mean, Deftones is always going to be, like, probably my biggest inspiration.
02:41Dude, yes.
02:42Sonically.
02:44So, yeah, there's going to be a lot of Deftones vibes throughout.
