00:00I didn't think it was an ACL, but when the doctor called me
00:03and told me it was an ACL, I'm like, there's no way.
00:06I thought it was like a meniscus or something kind of small,
00:08but yeah, it was shot.
00:10Did I hear you say that you found some old stuff?
00:14Doctors weren't even sure that maybe with some old knee injuries
00:18you got fixed up as well?
00:20Yeah.
00:21I was worried more about my left knee, to be honest,
00:23because I landed on both obviously feet.
00:26Yeah.
00:27And I went to my left knee, and I thought that that one was injured too,
00:30but the left one's good.
00:32They said it looked like I got hit by with a baseball bat,
00:34was what it looked like on the x-ray.
00:36So, yeah, not ideal.
00:38But to be honest, with how this year is going,
00:42it's kind of given me enough time to get a reset in.
00:44And, yeah, the version of what you saw out there of me this year
00:49was definitely not the same guy as normal.
00:51So it's given me a time to reset.
00:53Obviously, getting to watch these guys ride,
00:55it's been really cool, pretty motivating,
00:58and you can also learn some stuff when you're on the couch.

01:12I love this sport.
01:12I'm a big fan, obviously.
01:14And it does suck watching, but I make myself watch it.
01:18It's good.
01:20Yeah, I'm with you on that.
01:21I used to have a hard time watching it.
01:23But do you feel like it's easier to watch it when you know there's nothing you can do?
01:27You can't get back out there compared to where you're going to come back in a few weeks?
01:30For me, it was.
01:31But so far, what have you seen this year?
01:33Yeah, 100%.
01:34I think being on the couch and knowing that I'm not racing the rest of 2026,
01:38that does make it a bit different.
01:40If I was coming back, I'd probably be a little bit – I'd still watch a little bit,
01:45but I wouldn't be so, like, locked down.
01:47I mean, I'm on the couch with popcorn.
01:48I'm doing the whole nine.
01:50But, yeah, I mean, they've – I mean, it's nothing new.
01:54Jet and Hunter are riding really well.
01:55Hunter this year has been, I think, class of the field, to be honest.
02:00And I think Jet, with his injury, he's having to ride a little bit different.
02:04I think it's hindered him a little bit.
02:06Yeah, he's obviously still very good, and even last week he was a lot better
02:10than I've seen him all year.
02:12So, I don't know.
02:13Hunter is very impressive.
02:15I think Hayden, especially today with how this track is, with it being faster,
02:19I think he's going to do really well.
02:21And, yeah, the track is going to be fast, and I think it's going to –
02:25you're going to have to hang it out, and I think Hayden likes to do that.
02:27So it should be good.
02:29Ooh, spicy there because Jet just put in a good time, but not enough to knock Hayden off.
02:33Let's see what the 38 can throw down now.
02:36Not able to better his time, but still time from session one holding up.
02:41Yeah, so you think Chase's track might work for Deegan?
02:44I actually – someone asked me.
02:45I was going to watch the first practice in the mechanics area,
02:49and someone asked me who's going to be the fastest in qualifying, and I said,
02:53hey, I said this track.
02:53Before it started?
02:54Yeah.
02:55Come on, man.
02:55Before it – yeah.
02:57This track's going to suit him just because I think, like I said,
03:00he likes ascended, and with how fast the track is, and it's not the roughest track on the circuit,
03:05the most technical, so I think it just really pays off to, yeah, ascended, basically.
03:11And I think Jet and Hunter obviously are going to be very good.
03:14They're going to be hard to beat, but – well, Hunter just went the fastest, so –
03:17Oh, look at that.
03:19Hey, Hayden still is going fast, though.
03:21Yeah.
03:21I mean, I think he's going to have one of his better races, but, yeah,
03:24before first practice, I called him being at least fastest in that session.
03:28I'm not going to say overall, but that session I was right.
03:32Take the W on that when I can get it, yeah.
03:35So here's Eli Toback back, and he was here at Price Day yesterday.
03:38We got to ask him how he's feeling in his return.
03:43Yeah, I'm healed up now.
03:46I wouldn't be here unless I thought I would be ready.
03:49I mean, there's just a point in time where you can only do so many practice laps,
03:52and you're like, okay, let's see what – see what we got.
03:56The crash at round one was pretty scary, pretty gnarly, but things are better now.
04:03And, yeah, I'm just excited to see what I have on this Rebel KTM, see what I can do on
04:08it.
04:08So it didn't make more than half a lap in that first round.
04:13Unfortunately, you've been in that situation coming back about halfway through,
04:16I think even last year, two years ago.
04:18So what's that like to jump back in like Eli's got to do right now?
04:22It's definitely not easy.
04:23I was actually in this exact spot last year.
04:26I came back at Redbud.
04:28Yep.
04:29And, yeah, it's hard.
04:30The first few races are tough, but he's – I mean, the guy is unreal on a dirt bike.
04:36He's going to figure it out.
04:37And I'm actually interested to see him outdoors on this bike because I do think the KTM really excels outdoors,
04:43and that's where – I mean, 2024, when I went outdoors the first year on it, I felt really, really
04:48good.
04:48And I expect him to be the same.
04:50So obviously it's tough to see him get hurt at the first round.
04:54But, yeah, I mean, it's Eli Tomat.
04:56I have nightmares of 22 here racing him.
05:00So he's going to do great.
05:01Obviously, today might not be a full picture of what you're going to see, but who knows?
05:07You could come on here and show everybody up.
05:09Yep.
05:10Yeah.
05:10And one second, we want to check in on Prado's mechanics area here with JT.
05:16JT?
05:17Yeah, just watching them make an adjustment.
05:19It looked like they moved the forks up in the triple clamp, so that would change the geometry of the
05:23motorcycle a little bit.
05:25Typically, that's to help it turn a little bit better.
05:27It could be other things, but usually if you're just not getting the steering, you want to make it turn
05:31a little bit tighter.
05:32You'd move the forks up.
05:33But, yeah, just interesting mid-practice changes here in Prado.
05:36Yeah, and usually with the high speed, that Mount Martin, you might not want to be doing that.
05:42Or maybe they changed it before they got here, anticipating that, and he wants to go down.
05:45But, yeah, just kind of going back to what we were talking about with Eli coming back, you know, to
05:49your defense, Chase,
05:50I feel like Eli's in a little bit different spot because when you came back, you were expected to win.
05:56You know, I don't know if necessarily that pressure's on Eli.
05:58I think he wants that.
06:00I'm sure his team thinks that it might be a possibility, but you came back with the number one play,
06:05expecting to jump back in the series and do what you did when you left.
06:08So what do you think?
06:10Do you agree?
06:11I mean, I would say so.
06:12And I think, Eli, I think once he crashed the first round, it kind of – I don't know what
06:18his expectations were coming in.
06:19I think for him, he's obviously wanting to win.
06:22But I think coming back for him now, he's probably just going to try and go out there and, I'm
06:26assuming, build for SMX.
06:28I think he'd love to get a win, obviously.
06:30I mean, he's won a lot of races.
06:32So, yeah, I don't know.
06:34It's hard to say.
06:35And with him, you don't really know what you're going to get, too.
06:38Like, he could come out here and beat everybody by 10 seconds or he could get eight.
06:43I think it's how he feels.
06:44And, obviously, he's getting a bit older.
06:46So I feel like – I don't know.
06:48The older he's getting, the more he sends it.
06:51He's gnarly.
06:52He does not – he's not slowing down at all, which is impressive.
06:57I agree with that.
06:57But so far today, do you like the changes on the track?
07:01Do you think it'd be better?
07:02I do like it.
07:05In past years, I've lost a lot of time in that downhill.
07:08Just not – I guess maybe not being willing to just hold it wide open.
07:13And if you're not – like I said, if you're not, like, really comfortable –
07:16this is where I lost a lot of time to those guys last year, Hunter and Jet.
07:19They were so fast in the downhills.
07:20And you can lose – he just – 154.7.
07:24He can just beat his time, too.
07:26Yeah.
07:26And then Hunter took it right back.
07:28Jet is in the mechanics area.
07:30But, yeah, there was a lot of separation on that hill.
07:32Yeah.
07:32I do like the new change with it being a bit slower.
07:35It just slows it down.
07:36Like, when you raced it, it was only – it was, what, halfway up and down?
07:39Yeah.
07:40My last year in 16, which I wasn't going as near as fast as you guys, they – the first
07:44time I went all the way up the hill, and it was scary.
07:46Yeah.
07:46It's so – it's such a big downhill, and, like, you can honestly hit it as fast as
07:51you're willing to – if you're willing to die down that thing, I mean, you can go fast.
07:55So I like that they changed it.
07:57It seems a bit more technical.
07:58I'm a little bit worried that it might be a one-line, but, yeah, we'll see.
08:03The track looks awesome, and the dirt.
08:05It does look a little bit deeper this year, which is nice.
08:07Last couple years have been pretty slippery, but, yeah, Hunter is – dude, I'm telling you,
08:13he's impressive.
08:13This year, even, like, Supercross, I would say I didn't get to race him much in outdoors,
08:17but, I mean, to be honest, I didn't race him much in Supercross either because I was
08:21not on the same page, but he's been riding really well and happy for him.
08:26He's had – everyone has their tough times, and he's went through it just as much as
08:31everybody else, so it's cool to see him back up on top.
08:35We've watched Prado here back out of the mechanics area, see what he can throw down.
08:39He's fifth fastest.
08:40Yeah, you battled Hunter for the title back in 2024.
08:43I got the better of him, but you've seen some big improvements in that two-year span
08:46since.
08:47I think, yeah, he just – he was really good in 24.
08:50Like, speed-wise, he was good.
08:53I just seemed like – it seemed like later in the races, I would seem to get the better
08:58of him, and it seems like he's fixed that.
09:00Yeah.
09:00Last weekend, I think when – that lap he fell on was like – well, he ran, what, his best
09:06– or
09:06almost close to his best lap prior to that, and then he fell.
09:10And he looked like he was ready to break Jett and fell over.
09:14But Jett did the same thing first moto, so it's kind of – it's been crazy.
09:17It's been crazy.
09:18I mean, they've won every moto between the two of them, and, I mean, it's just – it's
09:22honestly impressive.
09:23Well, I had trivia that we figured out last week.
09:26Since Jett entered the class, and then Hunter as well, you're the only other guy who's won
09:29an overall.
09:30So I don't know if that's a badge of honor for you, or that's frustration for others,
09:33maybe a little bit of both.
09:34But you're the only guy that's actually taken overalls from them.
09:37Yeah, I mean, I think that's a good thing.
09:41Yeah, I mean, they're great riders.
09:43I think them coming from Europe has helped them a lot, and, I mean, I was teammates with
09:48them on Geico.
09:49Yeah.
09:49So I've seen them from the beginning, and Hunter actually beat me – well, he smoked
09:53me at WW Ranch in 2017 at the MXGP.
09:58I got, I don't know, 07, and I think he got second.
10:00So I raced him – and I think I raced him actually Junior World Championships in 2013.
10:05He beat me there as well.
10:07Wow.
10:08Yeah.
10:08Yeah, we have a long history of racing.
10:11This is actually your bike, Cornelius Condola, Norway, on your machine there.
10:15Yeah.
10:16Obviously, yeah, got the ride.
10:18I talked to him – first time I talked to him was this morning, and I would say I'm
10:23a pretty big guy, but I think him and March Banks both got me beat on –

10:37Let's see him get an opportunity and hopefully he likes the bike.
10:40I talked to him a little bit.
10:41He seemed like he struggled a little bit last weekend, but they seem to figure it out this
10:44week.
10:45So we'll see.
10:47All right.
10:47Yeah, good for the rider out of Norway.
10:49Now, we want to crash.
10:50We've got to show you, dating back to the V450 session earlier.
10:54This is Blake Hoke.
10:55This happens very rarely.
10:56Watch.
10:56He gets it wrong and goes into Spring Creek itself.
11:00Yeah.
11:01He's trying to cool down a little early.
11:02That's not the way the track goes.
11:04But, yeah, he was able to get up.
11:06They had to throw the bike on the little transport trailer to get it back.
11:10There you go.
11:11They're going back.
11:12Have you been close to going to that pond yet?
11:14I haven't, actually.
11:16Who went into that pond?
11:17Was it 125?
11:19Nick Way, I think.
11:21Yo, that's way back.
