00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:50Give us this day our daily bread.
03:53Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:57Psalm 98
04:58Sing to the Lord a new song, for he performs amazing deeds.
05:05His right hand and his mighty arm accomplish deliverance.
05:10The Lord demonstrates his power to deliver.
05:13In the sight of the nations, he reveals his justice.
05:17He remains loyal and faithful to the family of Israel.
05:22All the ends of the earth, see our God deliver us.
05:27Shout out praises to the Lord, all the earth.
05:30Break out in a joyful shout and sing.
05:33Sing to the Lord accompanied by a harp.
05:36Accompanied by a harp and the sound of music.
05:40With trumpets and the blaring of the ram's horn,
05:43Shout out praises before the King, the Lord.
05:47Let the sea and everything in it shout,
05:50Along with the world and all who live in it.
05:54Let the rivers clap their hands.
05:57Let the mountains sing in unison before the Lord.
06:00For he comes to judge the earth.
06:03He judges the world fairly, and the nations in a just manner.
06:09Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
06:13As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
06:17World without end.
06:19Amen.
06:23Psalm 99
06:25The Lord reigns.
06:27The nations tremble.
06:29He sits enthroned above the cherubim.
06:32The earth shakes.
06:34The Lord is elevated in Zion.
06:37He is exalted over all the nations.
06:40Let them praise your great and awesome name.
06:43He is holy.
06:45The king is strong.
06:47The king is strong.
06:47He loves justice.
06:48You ensure that legal decisions will be made fairly.
06:52You promote justice and equity in Jacob.
06:57Praise the Lord our God.
06:59Worship before his footstool.
07:01He is holy.
07:03Moses and Aaron were amongst his priests.
07:07Samuel was one of those who prayed to him.
07:10They prayed to the Lord, and he answered them.
07:13He spoke to them from a pillar of cloud.
07:16They obeyed his regulations and the ordinance he gave them.
07:21O Lord our God, you answered them.
07:24They found you to be a forgiving God, but also one who punished their sinful deeds.
07:30Praise the Lord our God.
07:32Worship upon his holy hill, for the Lord our God is holy.
07:38Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
07:44is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
07:49Amen.
07:54Psalm 100
07:58Shout out praises to the Lord, all the earth.
08:02Worship the Lord with joy.
08:05Enter his presence with joyful singing.
08:09Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
08:11He made us, and we belong to him.
08:14We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
08:18Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.
08:23Give him thanks.
08:25Praise his name, for the Lord is good.
08:29His loyal love endures, and he is faithful through all generations.
08:35Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
08:39as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
08:46Amen.
08:49Psalm 101
08:52I will sing about loyalty and justice.
08:56To you, O Lord, I will sing praises.
08:59I will walk in the way of integrity.
09:02When will you come to me?
09:04I will conduct my business with integrity in the midst of my palace.
09:10I will not even consider doing what is dishonest.
09:13I hate doing evil.
09:15I will have no part of it.
09:17I will have nothing to do with a perverse person.
09:20I will not permit evil.
09:23I will destroy anyone who slanders his neighbor in secret.
09:27I will not tolerate anyone who has a haughty demeanor and an arrogant attitude.
09:35I will favor the honest people of the land and allow them to live with me.
09:40Those who walk in the way of integrity will attend me.
09:45Deceitful people will not live in my palace.
09:49Liars will not be welcome in my presence.
09:54Each morning I will destroy all the wicked people in the land and remove all evildoers from the city of
10:00the Lord.
10:02Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
10:08is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
10:13Amen.
10:21The Book of Proverbs, Chapter 6
10:25My child, if you have made a pledge for your neighbor, and have become a guarantor for a stranger,
10:31if you have been ensnared by the words you have uttered, and have been caught by the words you have
10:37spoken,
10:38then, my child, do this in order to deliver yourself, because you have fallen into your neighbor's power.
10:46Go, humble yourself, and appeal firmly to your neighbor.
10:52Permit no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.
10:57Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a snare, like a bird from the trap of the fowler.
11:04Look at the ant, you sluggard, observe its ways, and be wise.
11:08It has no commander, overseer, or ruler, yet it prepares its food in the summer,
11:14and gathers at the harvest what it will eat.
11:19How long then, you sluggard, will you lie there?
11:22When will you rise from your sleep?
11:26A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to relax,
11:30and your poverty will come like a robber, and your needs like an armed man.
11:38A worthless and wicked person walks around saying perverse things.
11:42He winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, and points with his fingers.
11:49He plots evil with perverse thoughts in his heart.
11:52He spreads contention at all times.
11:57Therefore, his disaster will come suddenly.
12:00In an instant he will be broken, and there will be no remedy.
12:06There are six things that a Lord hates, even seven that are an abomination to him.
12:13Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood.
12:20A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift to run to evil.
12:26A false witness who pours out lies, and a person who spreads discord amongst family members.
12:36My child, guard the commandments of your father, and do not forsake the instructions of your mother.
12:43Bind them on your heart continually.
12:46Fasten them around your neck.
12:49For when you walk about, they will guide you.
12:52When you lie down, they will watch over you.
12:55When you wake up, they will talk to you.
12:59For the commandments are like a lamp, instruction is like a light, and the rebukes of discipline are like the
13:06road leading to life.
13:09By keeping you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the loose woman.
13:15Do not lust in your heart for her beauty, and do not let her captivate you with her alluring eyes.
13:22For on account of a prostitute, one is brought down to a loaf of bread.
13:28But the wife of another man preys on your precious life.
13:34Can a man hold fire against his chest without burning his clothes?
13:39Can a man walk on hot coals without scorching his feet?
13:44So is the one who has sex with his neighbor's wife.
13:48No one who touches her will escape punishment.
13:55People do not despise a thief when he steals to fulfill his need when he is hungry.
14:02Yet if he is caught, he must repay seven times over.
14:07He might even have to give all the wealth of his house.
14:11But a man who commits adultery with a woman lacks wisdom.
14:16Whoever does it destroys his own life.
14:20He will be beaten and despised, and his reproach will not be wiped away.
14:26For jealousy kindles a husband's rage, and he will not show mercy when he takes revenge.
14:35He will not consider any compensation.
14:38He will not be willing, even if you multiply the compensation.
14:43This is the word of the Lord.
14:47Thanks be to God.
15:01Mary said
15:02My soul exalts the Lord, and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
15:10because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
15:16For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
15:20because he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
15:27From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
15:33He has demonstrated power with his arm.
15:37He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
15:43He has brought down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up those of lowly position.
15:49He has filled the hungry with good things, and has sent the rich away empty.
15:55He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercy, as he promised to our ancestors,
16:03to Abraham, and to his descendants for ever.
16:08Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
16:13as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
16:20Amen.
16:28The Gospel according to St. Matthew, Chapter 9
16:34As Jesus was saying these things, a ruler came, bowed low before him, and said,
16:39My daughter has just died, but come, lay your hand on her, and she will live.
16:48Jesus and his disciples got up and followed him.
16:54But a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind him, and touched the
17:00edge of his cloak.
17:02For she kept saying to herself, If only I touch his cloak, I will be healed.
17:11But when Jesus turned and saw her, he said, Have courage, daughter, your faith has made you well.
17:19And the woman was healed from that hour.
17:24When Jesus entered the ruler's house, and saw the flute players, and the disorderly crowd, he said,
17:30Go away, or the girl is not dead, but asleep.
17:35And they began making fun of him.
17:38When the crowd had been put outside, he went in and gently took her by the hand, and the girl
17:45got up.
17:46The news of this spread throughout that region.
17:52As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, shouting,
17:56Have mercy on us, son of David.
18:01When he went into the house, the blind men came to him.
18:05Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this?
18:10They replied, Yes, Lord.
18:13Then he touched their eyes, saying,
18:16Then let it be done for you according to your faith.
18:22Their eyes were opened, but Jesus sternly warned them,
18:26See that no one knows about this.
18:30Even so, they went out and spread the news about him throughout that entire region.
18:39As they were going away, a man who could not talk, and was demon-possessed, was brought to him.
18:46After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke.
18:51The crowds were amazed and said,
18:55Never has anything like this been seen in Israel.
18:59But the Pharisees said,
19:02By the ruler of demons he casts out demons.
19:08Then Jesus went throughout all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues,
19:13Preaching the good news of the kingdom,
19:15And healing every kind of disease and sickness.
19:20When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them,
19:24Because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
19:31Then he said to his disciples,
19:34The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
19:38Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
19:45This is the word of the Lord.
19:48Thanks be to God.
19:51Amen.
20:23Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
20:27As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
20:31World without end.
20:34Amen.
20:39I believe in God the Father Almighty,
20:42Maker of heaven and earth,
20:44And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord,
20:48Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
20:51Born of the Virgin Mary,
20:53Suffered unto Pontius Pilate.
20:56He was crucified, dead, and buried.
21:00He descended into hell.
21:02On the third day he rose again from the dead.
21:06He ascended into heaven,
21:08And is sitting at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
21:13From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
21:17I believe in the Holy Spirit,
21:20The Holy Catholic Church,
21:22The communion of saints,
21:23The forgiveness of sins,
21:26The resurrection of the body,
21:28And the life everlasting.
21:30Amen.
21:36The Lord be with you,
21:39And with your spirit.
21:43Let us pray.
21:46Lord, have mercy upon us.
21:50Christ, have mercy upon us.
21:54Lord, have mercy upon us.
22:01Our Father,
22:02Who is in heaven,
22:04Holy is your name.
22:07May your kingdom come.
22:09May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
22:14Give us this day our daily bread.
22:16Forgive us our trespasses,
22:19As we forgive those who trespass against us.
22:23Lead us not into temptation,
22:25But deliver us from evil.
22:28For yours is the kingdom,
22:31The power and the glory,
22:33For ever and ever.
22:36Amen.
22:41O Lord, show your mercy upon us,
22:44And grant us your salvation.
22:49Protect and guide those in authority over us,
22:54And mercifully hear us when we call upon you.
23:00Endue your ministers with righteousness,
23:03And make your chosen people joyful.
23:08O Lord, save your people,
23:12And bless your inheritance.
23:17Give peace in our time, O Lord,
23:21Because there is none other who fights for us,
23:23But only you, O God.
23:27O God, make clean our hearts within us,
23:32And take not your Holy Spirit from us.
23:44Let us pray.
23:47Lord of all power and might,
23:49Who is the author and giver of all good things,
23:53Graft in our hearts the love of your name,
23:57Increase in us true religion,
24:00Nourish us with all goodness,
24:03And of your great mercy keep us in the same.
24:06Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
24:09Amen.
24:19O God,
24:20From whom all holy desires,
24:23All good counsels,
24:24And all just works proceed,
24:27Give to your servants that peace,
24:29Which the world cannot give,
24:32That our hearts may be set to obey your commandments,
24:36And also that, by you,
24:39We, being defended from the fear of our enemies,
24:42May pass our time in rest and quietness,
24:47Through the merits of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
24:50Amen.
24:55Lighten our darkness,
24:57We beseech you, O Lord,
24:59And by your great mercy defend us all,
25:02From perils and dangers of this night.
25:06For the love of your only Son,
25:08Our Saviour,
25:09Jesus Christ.
25:10Amen.
25:14Almighty God,
25:16Who has given us grace at this time with one accord,
25:19To make our common supplications to you,
25:23And promises that when two or three are gathered together in your name,
25:27You will grant their requests.
25:31Fulfill now, O Lord,
25:33The desires and petitions of your servants,
25:37As may be most beneficial for them,
25:40Granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
25:44And in the world to come,
25:46Life everlasting.
25:49Amen.
25:52With the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
25:54And the love of God,
25:56And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
25:58Be with us all,
26:00Evermore.
26:01Amen.
