00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary, as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace,
03:24that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind, through Jesus Christ our
03:32Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
04:39as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
04:43world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:56Psalm 47
04:58All you nations, clap your hands,
05:01shout out to God in celebration.
05:05For the Lord Most High is awe-inspiring.
05:08He is the great King who rules the whole earth.
05:12He subdued nations beneath us, and countries under our feet.
05:17He picked out for us a special land to be a source of pride for Jacob,
05:22whom he loves.
05:24God has ascended his throne amid loud shouts.
05:28The Lord has ascended amid the blaring of ram's horns.
05:32Sing to God, sing, sing to our King, sing.
05:37For God is King of the whole earth.
05:40Sing a well-written song.
05:42God reigns over the nations.
05:44God sits on his holy throne.
05:48The nobles of the nations assemble,
05:51along with the people of the God of Abraham.
05:53For God has authority over the rules of the earth.
05:57He is highly exalted.
06:00Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
06:04As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
06:09World without end.
06:11Amen.
06:15Psalm 48
06:18The Lord is great, and certainly worthy of praise in the city of our God, his holy hill.
06:26It is lofty and pleasing to look at, a source of joy to the whole earth.
06:32Mount Zion resembles the peaks of Zaphon.
06:35It is the city of the great King.
06:39God is in its fortresses.
06:41He reveals himself as its defender.
06:44For look, the kings assemble.
06:46They advance together.
06:49As soon as they see, they are shocked.
06:52They are terrified.
06:53They quickly retreat.
06:56Look at them shake uncontrollably, like a woman writhing in childbirth.
07:01With an east wind, you shatter the large ships.
07:06We heard about God's mighty deeds, and now we have seen them.
07:10In the city of the Lord of Heaven's armies.
07:13In the city of our God.
07:16God makes it permanently secure.
07:20We reflect on your loyal love, O God, within your temple.
07:25The praise you receive as far away as the ends of the earth is worthy of your reputation, O God.
07:33You execute justice.
07:36Mount Zion rejoices.
07:38The towns of Judah are happy because of your acts of judgment.
07:43Walk around Zion.
07:45Encircle it.
07:47Count its towers.
07:49Consider its defences.
07:51Walk through its fortresses, so that you can tell the next generation about it.
07:56For God, our God, is our defender for ever.
08:01He guides us.
08:04Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
08:08As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
08:12World without end.
08:14Amen.
08:19Psalm 49
08:22Listen to this, all you nations.
08:25Pay attention, all you inhabitants of the world.
08:30Pay attention, all you people, both rich and poor.
08:34I will declare a wise saying.
08:37I will share my profound thoughts.
08:41I will learn a song that imparts wisdom.
08:44I will then sing my insightful song to the accompaniment of a harp.
08:50Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when the sinful deeds of deceptive men threaten to overwhelm me?
08:59They trust in their wealth, and boast in their great riches.
09:04Certainly a man cannot rescue his brother.
09:07He cannot pay God an adequate ransom price.
09:10For the ransom price of a human life is too high, and people go to their final destiny.
09:18So that he might continue to live forever and not experience death.
09:24Surely one sees that even wise people die.
09:28Fools and spiritually insensitive people all pass away and leave their wealth to others.
09:35Their grave becomes their permanent residence, their eternal dwelling place.
09:41They name their lands after themselves, but, despite their wealth, people do not last.
09:48They are like animals that perish.
09:51This is the destiny of fools, and of those who approve of their philosophy.
09:58They will travel to Sheol like sheep, with death as their shepherd.
10:03The godly will rule over them when the day of vindication dawns.
10:08Sheol will consume their bodies, and they will no longer live in impressive houses.
10:15But God will rescue my life from the power of Sheol.
10:20Certainly he will pull me to safety.
10:24Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich and his wealth multiplies.
10:29For he will take nothing with him when he dies.
10:32His wealth will not follow him down into the grave.
10:37He pronounces this blessing on himself while he is alive.
10:42May men praise you, for you have done well.
10:46But he will join his ancestors, and they will never again see the light of day.
10:53Wealthy people do not understand.
10:56They are like animals that perish.
11:00Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
11:05As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
11:10World without end.
11:12Amen.

18:01Now, according to your word, Sovereign Lord, permit your servant to depart in peace.
18:08For my eyes have seen your salvation, that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples.
18:15A light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.
18:23Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

18:39I believe in God the Father Almighty,
18:42Maker of heaven and earth,
18:44and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
18:48who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
18:51born of the Virgin Mary,
18:54suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
18:57was crucified, dead, and buried.
19:00He descended into hell.
19:02On the third day he rose again from the dead.
19:06He ascended into heaven,
19:08and is sitting at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
19:13From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
19:18I believe in the Holy Spirit,
19:20the Holy Catholic Church,
19:22the communion of saints,
19:24the forgiveness of sins,
19:26the resurrection of the body,
19:28and the life everlasting.
19:31Amen.
19:36The Lord be with you,
19:39and with your spirit.

20:05holy is your name.

20:19as we forgive those who trespass against us.

20:26but deliver us from evil.
20:28For yours is the kingdom,
20:31the power and the glory,
20:34for ever and ever.
20:36Amen.
20:41O Lord, show your mercy upon us,
20:44and grant us your salvation.
20:50Protect and guide those in authority over us,
20:55and mercifully hear us when we call upon you.

21:03and make your chosen people joyful.
21:09O Lord, save your people,
21:13and bless your inheritance.
21:17Give peace in our time,
21:19O Lord,
21:21because there is none other who fights for us,
21:24but only you, O God.
21:27O God, make clean our hearts within us,
21:32and take not your Holy Spirit from us.
21:44Let us pray.
21:47Grant, O Lord, we beseech you,
21:49that the course of this world
21:51may be so peacefully ordered by your governors,

22:25that our hearts may be set to obey your commandments,
22:29and also that, by you,

23:15and promises that when two or three are gathered together in your name,
23:20you will grant their requests.
23:24Fulfill now, O Lord,
23:26the desires and petitions of your servants,
23:29as may be most beneficial for them,
