00:05Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we are looking at the toughest boss fights across the Splatoon series.

00:27Mr. Grizz, Splatoon 3.
00:40Previously, just a mysterious voice on a radio, Mr. Grizz closes out the story of Splatoon 3.
00:46And, completely befitting of a final boss that's a gigantic, ultra-powered grizzly bear, he's pretty tough.
01:02Mr. Grizz comes in three phases. During the first, his attacks cover a lot of your area in ink, so
01:08you have to keep up a steady spread of your own and carve a path towards him, while dealing with
01:12enemies.
01:12After that, Mr. Grizz's phases come with time limits, which naturally adds a little more stress, as you're trying to
01:18fend off enemies and Grizz at the same time.
01:21That's nothing but fend.
01:34Splatoon 2
01:37Splatoon 2
01:40Salmon Run has more than a handful of annoying bosses that, if not taken care of immediately, will only cause
01:47your team pain.
01:48Stacked on top of some cooking pots, this little devil can snipe an inkling from the other side of the
01:53map.
01:53And it isn't just a single blast, it's a stream of ink that eats into you in a matter of
01:59moments.
02:04Of course, they also always attack from far away.
02:07It can be especially annoying as they start to appear in larger numbers, splitting your team's attention among the other
02:13enemies.
02:13Not only is that a lot of damage to deal with, but they can cover a good amount of your
02:18ground, depending on the map.
02:26Octo Shower Supreme
02:27Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion
02:40The Octo Expansion takes a couple of the bosses from the base game and gives them a nice challenge upgrade.
02:46You can only fight this boss with the inkjet, and the gun that comes with it has a slow fire
02:51rate.
02:52And while you're flying around trying to hit the boss, it frequently fires pairs of homing missiles at you.
03:01The second phase is a chore as it feels like there's a constant barrage of damage, whether from the Octo
03:07Shower's own much faster shooting weapon,
03:10or when it rains ink down while dashing across the arena, which is nasty to get caught by.
03:24Parallel Cannon
03:25Splatoon 3 Side Order
03:27Side Order introduced some roguelike mechanics, meaning that every run through the Spire of Order is a little different.
03:39But Parallel Cannon is usually a drag to run into.
03:42Fought on the 10th or 20th floor, though with more power and numbers on the ladder,
03:47they seek to overwhelm in large numbers, while cycling through different tactics as they go.
04:01What can make them intimidating more often than not are the chips in your palate.
04:05The more you have, the more predetermined ones they'll have.
04:09With the amount of damage they can spread through each wave, they're certainly good at keeping you on your toes.
04:20Fly Fish
04:22Splatoon 2
04:28Perhaps even more annoying than the Stinger is the Fly Fish, due to its tenacity when it comes to staying
04:33alive and Salmon Run.
04:35A small fry with two homing missile launchers mounted on its back, you have to use an explosive weapon to
04:41destroy them,
04:42as the small fry itself can't be damaged.
04:50And if you don't take care of it as quickly as possible, you'll regret it.
04:54They can target two players at once, and getting hit by one of the Fly Fish's missiles means instant death.
05:00They're particularly irritating, since it can be hard to destroy their launchers in the heat of the moment.
05:05These Salmon Run bosses may be small, but they can cause a lot of mayhem.
05:29Another boss made much harder by the expansion, Revenge of the Octo Samurai, much like the Octo Shower Supreme,
05:36becomes much more difficult because of the weapon you're forced to use.
05:39You're placed inside a baller, which has you roll around and deal damage by charging up an explosion.
05:45You have to time those explosions right, because the Octo Samurai is trying to knock you off the arena with
05:50a giant paint roller,
05:51and he hits pretty hard.
05:59Unless you're being knocked from the exact opposite side, there's a good chance you're going over.
06:05And of course, the boss only gets more aggressive as he gets closer to defeat.
06:29When the Salmon Run mode returned with Next Wave in the third game,
06:32Nintendo gave us some much more boss-sized bosses to contend with.
06:36Three gigantic King Salmonids, all of which are naturally intimidating to go up against for the first time.
06:43But of the three, it's Megalodontia who poses the biggest threat.
06:47Part of it is because of the boss's sheer size, which comes with a larger health pull than the other
06:52two.
06:52Although this scales depending on the hazard level of the room, it's usually an issue,
06:56considering you're also given a time limit during these fights.
07:00Megalodontia pops up at different points around the arena to deal major damage to one player.
07:04The weak spot on its back is obvious, but it won't always be in your line of sight,
07:09especially with all the other regular enemies and smaller bosses vying for your attention.
07:25Overlorder, Splatoon 3, Side Order
07:41As expected, since Overlorder stands between players and the end of their climb up the Spire of Order,
07:46it's the hardest boss fight the DLC has to offer.
07:49Phase 1 of 4 is simple enough.
07:52You have to destroy Overlorder's two portals that spawn enemies that home in on you.
07:56After that, the boss lets loose.
08:07The number of portals increases in Phases 2 and 3 and are harder to hit since they move once they
08:13take damage.
08:14Meanwhile, Overlorder is trying to wallop you with its tentacles.
08:18In Phase 4, you have to get new chips by destroying portals as your pallet will have been emptied.
08:45What's worse than one King Salmonid?
08:47Well, all three of them.
08:49The Triumvirate sees Megalodontia, Kohozuna, and Horeboros join forces.
08:54You still have a time limit constantly ticking down,
08:57and you still have to worry about other enemies and smaller bosses filling the rest of the space.
09:02The one saving grace is the ability to use their attacks against them.
09:11The bosses can each destroy enemies that are caught in the crossfire while going for you,
09:16and one attack from a King Salmonid can hurt another.
09:19Even still, that's obviously a lot of spinning plates to balance,
09:23and it is a lot of nasty ink that can quickly splat you.

10:05Enter Agent 3, Splatoon 2, Octo Expansion.
10:18The bosses in the Octo Expansion are tough, but the secret boss puts them all to shame.
10:24You have to prove yourself worthy of reaching the fight first, collecting all 80 Mem Cakes throughout the DLC.
10:30That takes a while, but the fight against Enter Agent 3 will feel even longer.
10:35It comes in five phases, with different weapons and tactics used for each one.
10:39Simply put, they're just crapped.
10:52Their speed and maneuverability is on another level, easily able to bob and weave throughout attacks.
10:58And their high accuracy with each weapon is sure to make you sweat.
11:01High offense and defense makes Enter Agent 3 one of the hardest secret bosses in recent Nintendo memory.
