00:07Welcome to MojoPlays and today we're taking a look at the 10 greatest boss
00:12fights across the Lego Batman games. Before we begin we publish new videos
00:17all week long so be sure to subscribe to MojoPlays and ring the bell to be
00:21notified about our latest videos. Scarecrow, Lego Batman 2 DC superheroes.
00:37Early game bosses aren't typically the most memorable on account of them
00:41being super easy to defeat or because they don't really force the player to
00:44engage with a ton of mechanics. But the Scarecrow boss fight in Lego Batman 2 is
00:49memorable for its presentation and inspiration. The hallucinations alone show
00:54how TT Games may have borrowed some ideas from the Batman Arkham games at the time.
00:58If only they did more things with Scarecrow later in the game instead of
01:02lumping him in with the other villains for more generic battles.
01:05The Joker in Harley Quinn. Lego Batman the video game.
01:18Okay we're pretty much putting this boss fight, if you can call it that, on here for
01:22the sake of nostalgia. Otherwise it is just a simple puzzle room with not much of a
01:27focus on fighting the Joker nor Harley. However we like the idea on display here
01:32as it pays tribute to the climactic end of the 1989 Batman movie where the Dark Knight
01:38and the Clown Prince of Crime go toe-to-toe in Gotham City's clock tower. Our only
01:42gripe is that we wish it was a little more action-packed like some of the other
01:46bosses, like Mr. Freeze or Poison Ivy.
02:00The Penguin. Lego Batman. Legacy of the Dark Knight.
02:12It was interesting to see how Legacy of the Dark Knight blended two different Penguin renditions
02:17into a single character. The Batman Returns side that we see in his boss fight is the best.
02:23Just the concept we see here is super cool as Penguin charges at the Bat and the Cat with a
02:29motorized ducky. Cobblepot even comes packing with a wide range of attacks from missiles to
02:34normal gunfire to his own maximum overdrive charge. Overall it's a really fun boss
02:40fight that any Lego fan and Batman fan will love.
02:54Batman. Lego Batman 3 Beyond Gotham.
03:04Though the idea of fighting a giant Dark Knight isn't anything super new, the way Beyond Gotham did
03:09it felt original and charming. For starters, the music had to have been heavily inspired by the
03:15Tim Burton movies with how it utilizes the tones of the music from those films and mixes it with
03:20climactic, choir-driven melodies. In concept, there's something amusing about Robin and Alfred using
03:26spotlights to fight a deranged, colossal Batman. We only wish he did other things than just smash
03:32his fists and breathe bats.
03:35Batman wait! It's me! Robin! And old Tim Drake! We're a team! Remember? We're supposed to fight the bad guys!
03:45Please!
03:46Beast Boy and Raven. Lego DC Super-Villains.
04:01It almost feels weird to be putting a team of heroes on this sort of list, but fighting two
04:05of the Teen Titans was one of the coolest moments in Lego DC Super-Villains. Raven traps you and your
04:12co-op partner in a small arena with Beast Boy, and you'll need some cunning and wit to avoid his
04:18vicious attacks. While the fight is cut somewhat short, it was a treat hearing Greg Sipes and
04:23Tara Strong play the duo once again, if only this fight had served as a tease for a Lego Teen
04:29Titans
04:29video game. Alas, one can only dream. Atrocitus the Butcher. Lego Batman 3 Beyond Gotham.
04:43With their rage channeled into unmitigated power, one would not dare cross paths with a member of
04:50the Red Lantern Corps. Surprisingly, this may be one of the toughest fights in the game,
04:54as Atrocitus does not hold back. His ranged attacks and bull charges happen with little room
05:00to react, so you may end up losing a handful of studs on your first attempt. But once you get
05:06into the same exact process on the second or third cycle, you should be okay. Had there been a little
05:11more diversity in the Red Lantern's attacks, maybe this could have been the best boss fight in Beyond
05:15Gotham. Two-Face and Riddler. Lego Batman, the video game.
05:33Though it's a tad weird calling this a boss fight since Two-Face spends the entire level running away,
05:38this whole portion of the game was still really cool. The chase with Harvey Dent had a lot of neat
05:44puzzles and objects to build like the room filled with acid. The vault itself was admittedly the least
05:49interesting part, but there was something fun about destroying all of those gold bars and getting hit
05:54with massive bursts of studs. Something tells us this fight could have been strengthened,
05:58had the Riddler made use of that mech from his portion of the villain campaign.
06:10Darkseid. Lego DC Super-Villains.
06:18With his twisted laser beams, any fight against Darkseid can be enjoyed just for the visual
06:23spectacle. Thing is that you can't just sit back and watch the fireworks until he's dead. Darkseid is
06:29admittedly a bit of a challenge if you're trying to avoid losing studs. While floor panels can release
06:35massive pools of fire, the Lord of Apocalypse can rain down meteors upon you, which can take up quite a
06:41bit of room in an already small area. So long as you're attentive, you shouldn't have too much
06:46trouble, but overall, you'll likely find this fight to be a fun conclusion to an already stellar Lego game.
06:53Well, I didn't expect that. This piece might not last, but it's worth a shot.
07:01The Joker and Lex Luthor. Lego Batman 3 Beyond Gotham.
07:06He thought if he controlled the Watchtower, Earth would have to give him to his demands to be president.
07:13Shut up, Joker.
07:14In all honesty, this one may not impress most players as it is more heavy on combat than
07:19building things or solving a puzzle. You'll spend a lot of time fighting Joker's thugs
07:24and Lexbots before the corrupt billionaire himself tries to take on the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight.
07:30Meanwhile, Joker blares some party music until he decides to join in on the brawl.
07:34It's the best boss fight just for its novelty and vibes,
07:38and we wish it went on for just a little while longer before ending abruptly.
07:43Come on, we couldn't do more than just disable Lex's mech suit?
07:57Bane. Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight.
08:01Oh, what have we here? I like your costumes. Is it Halloween? I'm afraid I have no candy.
08:10Call it recency bias if you want, but Legacy of the Dark Knight gave us the best boss fight in
08:15Lego Batman history. Yes, we could say that it's for the simple fact that Matt Barry voices Bane
08:21and delivers a hilarious performance. However, this really was an exciting boss fight. Taking
08:26place in two arenas with some amusing dialogue in between, this really should have been the final
08:31boss. Talia was cool and all, but Bane was the real closer here. Maybe we have a bit of favoritism
08:38because of all those prank phone calls we got throughout the course of the game.
