00:06Welcome to MojoPlays and today we're looking at the times in James Bond games where we wished
00:11we could use the golden gun on ourselves. These are the 10 hardest missions in James Bond games.
00:16Let's have a look. Before we continue, we publish content all week long, so be sure to subscribe
00:21and ring the bell to get notified of our latest videos. For England, 007 First Light.
00:33Are you coming? Get out of my way!
00:36Most James Bond missions start with a cool gadget briefing. For England decides to do the exact opposite.
00:42The final chapter of 007 First Light throws Bond into a prison cell and basically tells him to figure it
00:47out himself.
00:48No fancy equipment, no hidden laser watch and no easy way out. The opening section forces players to rely on
00:54melee combat
00:55until they can finally get their hands on a proper weapon, which feels a bit like asking a Formula One
00:59driver
00:59to finish the first chunk of the race on foot before they get a car. Things only get more chaotic
01:03from there,
01:04with trouble spreading into Q-Lab and several intense combat encounters. Add in 15 optional challenges
01:09and suddenly saving England feels like Bond's second biggest problem.
01:19Coven Goldeneye 007
01:40Coven Goldeneye 007
01:43Your fellow agent only makes things worse because there's no easy way to recover from a bad firefight.
01:47Lose too much health early and you'll spend the rest of the mission nervously peeking around corners
01:51like Bond forgot his glasses. While players often talk about the brutal stages like Aztec and Control,
01:56Caverns deserves some attention. It's the kind of level that quietly waits until you're feeling confident
02:01before introducing your face to a hail of bullets.
02:09Train Goldeneye 007
02:17Not every difficult level needs to be huge and Train proves that perfectly.
02:22This mission packs a ridiculous amount of pressure into a fairly small space.
02:25Kind of like my pants. Boom! It's either a fat joke or a big dick joke. Haven't decided.
02:30The mission begins by trapping Bond inside narrow carriages where enemies can open fire
02:34before you've even worked out where the shots come from.
02:36The cramped layout leaves very little room for mistakes,
02:39especially, again, on 00Agent where every bullet feels personal.
02:42Things get even more stressful once Natalia enters the equation
02:46since protecting her becomes just as important as staying alive yourself.
02:49Then comes the mission finale where you have to deal with Urimov
02:52and make a quick escape before time runs out.
02:54It all happens so fast that the level feels less like a spy mission
02:58and more like a panic attack on rails.
03:09The Ruined Tower, James Bond 007, Everything or Nothing
03:18Most players can get through the Ruined Tower without too much trouble,
03:22but just for this entry, we aren't talking about simply beating it.
03:26Earning its platinum objective is where the real suffering begins.
03:29The challenge asks you to complete the mission while using no more than 10 bullets,
03:33which is a hilarious request in a game built around being James Bond.
03:37Suddenly, every trigger pull feels precious.
03:39You can't simply blast your way through trouble and move on.
03:42Instead, the mission becomes a careful exercise in stealth,
03:45gadget use and manipulating enemy patrols to do exactly what you want.
03:49One careless shot can ruin an otherwise perfect run.
03:52It forces players to think several steps ahead,
03:54turning a fairly straightforward level into a tense puzzle.
03:57Bond still looks cool doing it, but you'll probably be sweating the entire time.
04:07Cradle Goldeneye 007
04:09Cradle Goldeneye 007
04:18Cradle Goldeneye 007
04:19By the time players reach Cradle, Goldeneye 007 has already spent hours testing their patience,
04:23reflexes and ability to survive being shot by guards hiding in impossible places.
04:27Then the game decides to end things on a giant network of exposed platforms suspended over a very, very long
04:32drop.
04:33The map itself isn't particularly large, but it feels chaotic from start to finish.
04:38Enemy soldiers constantly apply pressure, while Trevelyan spends much of the mission sprinting around like he's late for a flight.
04:44On 00Agent, every open walkway becomes a danger zone, since there's barely any cover to hide behind.
04:50Many fans rank it alongside Control and Aztec, for a good reason.
04:53It's a short mission, but one packed with enough stress to last an entire campaign.
05:04Equinox James Bond 007 Nightfire
05:06Your only hope is to sabotage the launch system in some way.
05:10You'll have to disable them manually.
05:13Each launch gantry has a weak coupling that you can melt with your laser.
05:16Leave it to Nightfire to save one of its most stressful missions for the grand finale.
05:20Equinox takes Bond into a space station for a climactic showdown, which sounds exciting until you remember there's no checkpoint
05:26waiting to save you.
05:27Unlike the rest of the game's on-foot missions, a mistake here can wipe out huge chunks of progress in
05:32an instant.
05:33That instantly raises the tension, because every firefight and every risky decision suddenly matters much, much more.
05:38As you battle through the station and work towards stopping Drake, the pressure keeps building.
05:42The mission delivers plenty of spectacle, but it also embraces that classic era of game design where failure comes with
05:49consequence.
05:50One sloppy moment near the finish line can turn victory into a very long replay.
05:55Shaken, not stirred.
05:59Or is it stirred, not shaken?
06:03Control Goldeneye 007
06:10Ask most players why control is so difficult and you'll usually get the same answer.
06:14Natalia.
06:15The mission already throws plenty of enemies at Bond, but the real challenge comes from keeping her alive while she
06:20works on the systems needed to stop the Goldeneye satellite.
06:22During the defense section, soldiers storm the room from multiple angles, forcing you to constantly react to new threats before
06:29they reach her.
06:29The problem is that her, Natalia, doesn't exactly make self-preservation a priority.
06:35If she needs to take a bullet or two to get her job done, she'll happily do it.
06:38She has a habit of standing in dangerous places at the worst possible moment, turning every firefight into a frantic
06:44scramble.
06:44Bond is expected to cover every entrance, illuminate every guard and somehow keep her safe.
06:49It's less a spy mission and more an armed childcare service.
06:57Wave of the Future 007 First Light
07:07Bond, congratulations.
07:09Your performance in Vietnam proved beyond a doubt you'll make an excellent doubler.
07:14Some difficult missions are remembered for one brutal encounter.
07:16Wave of the Future takes a different approach and simply refuses to end.
07:20Widely regarded as the longest chapter in 007 First Light, it can stretch close to two hours on a typical
07:25run,
07:26and players chasing everything on offer have 25 separate challenges to worry about.
07:30That sheer length is what makes it so demanding.
07:33Even if most individual fights aren't overwhelming, the chances of making a mistake slowly increase the longer you're playing.
07:39Set against the icy backdrop of Antarctica, the mission steadily raises the pressure with tougher enemies, larger objectives and more
07:46complicated situations.
07:48By this stage, the game stops holding your hand and starts expecting you to use everything you've learned along the
07:53way.
07:53Don't give me that look.
07:58I need you to promise you won't make any moves before I do what I came in to do.
08:01Evil Summit, James Bond 007, Agent Under Fire
08:18If there's one mission that sums up everything difficult about Agent Under Fire, it's Evil Summit.
08:23As the game's final stage, it throws nearly every challenge it can think of at you, a classic recipe for
08:29tough end game levels.
08:30You'll deal with large enemy groups, gadget-based objectives, hectic combat encounters and a finale that can quickly spiral out
08:37of control if you lose focus for even a second.
08:39The mission demands far more than simply good shooting and good bonding.
08:43To truly master it, especially when chasing medals or tackling the hardest difficulty settings, you need strong map knowledge and
08:49careful, careful planning.
08:51What makes Evil Summit so memorable is how exhausting it is.
09:03Aztec GoldenEye 007
09:13Unlocking Aztec feels like a reward right up until the mission actually begins.
09:17Then GoldenEye 007 reveals that the prize is suffering.
09:20Hidden away as a bonus stage, it packs some of the toughest enemies and nastiest encounters in the entire game
09:26into one confusing research facility.
09:28Automated drone guns watch over key areas, laser-equipped threats can shred your health in seconds,
09:33and the layout has a habit of making players question whether they're heading in the right direction at all.
09:37Then there's Jaws, because apparently things weren't stressful enough already.
09:42Many fans consider it the hardest challenge in the game, especially on 00Agent.
09:46It's an incredibly memorable mission, but it's the kind of memory that arrives alongside mild emotional damage.
