00:09Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're counting down our picks for the 10 hardest
00:13levels in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games. Cowabunga, dude.
00:24Before we begin, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:28the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:33Episode 3, Mutants Over Broadway, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder's Revenge.
00:45So we are going to start things off a tad bit more laid back here, but only just.
00:50Auto-scrolling levels can be incredibly frustrating, even when they are fun to play through.
00:54Most of the challenge and frustration can come from having little to no room for error,
01:00since the level obviously just keeps on moving, especially in a case like Mutants Over Broadway,
01:05where it's also a vehicle section with oodles upon oodles and even more oodles of baddies to attempt
01:10to thwart. Interestingly, this is one of those rare levels in the game where it's actually harder the
01:15more people you are playing with, since it only adds to the cacophony of color, sound, and pummeling
01:21madness all around you. If you do manage to survive, you then need to deal with Bebop and Rocksteady's
01:26Turtle Tenderizer, a massive vehicle that takes up a huge portion of the screen.
01:38Sewer Surfin' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4, Turtles in Time.
01:41Kick-a-Con. Kick-a-Con.
01:48Much like the previous entry I just talked about, Sewer Surfin' in Turtles in Time is another
01:53auto-scrolling level, this time bringing back fawn to or perhaps scarring memories of turbo tunnels
01:59from Battletoads. Yes, it's short. Yes, it can easily be beaten if you memorize it completely,
02:05but for most of us out there it's a real doozy to stay on your turtle toes as you avoid
02:10the Foot Clan,
02:11spiky vines, sharp minds, and apparently Xenomorph that have jaundice.
02:15And just when you are about to take a breather, the Rat King shows up.
02:26Episode 2-2, Large Lab. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Battle Nexus.
02:38It's so easy to get overwhelmed in this short but grueling level. This early game difficulty spike
02:44is there to ensure you have begun to master your combat prowess. Despite being a large battle arena,
02:50hence, you know, the large lab, it still oddly feels small, mostly because it's super dark, it's circular,
02:56and has a cornucopia of crazy baddies that constantly barrage you, giving you little room to breathe and
03:02reset. The best tip really is to just stay mobile, picking off one or two goons when you get the
03:08chance
03:08to whittle down their numbers.
03:17Ninjas in the Crypt, TMNT, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, from 2007.
03:322007's TMNT is an often overlooked Turtles game, which is a real shame,
03:37since it blends some fun and challenging Prince of Persia inspired parkour platforming
03:42with some skill based combat arenas. It's not perfect by any means, not at all, but there is a
03:47lot to love here. The level Ninjas in the Crypt might just be the most challenging of all the levels
03:52in this game, since it throws you into some truly devious parkour platforming obstacle courses,
03:58with loads and loads of traps and hazards to deal with. With these sections interspersed with combat
04:03encounters that are sheer battles of attrition, all in an attempt to save Leo. Your best bet is to
04:09basically have your wits about you and your skills ready if you hope to survive this creepy crypt.
04:23We're out! At last!
04:25Episode 15 Outworld Strangeoits, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder's Revenge
04:40When a level is downright grueling, even in co-op, you know it's out to get you. A difficulty spike
04:46in an
04:46otherwise pretty chill beat em up overall, well apart from the previous level we mentioned of course.
04:52Outworld Strangeoids is a bit unique in that a lot of the challenge actually comes from the sheer
04:56amount of spike traps that are devious as they are lethal. They are just so hard to avoid as you
05:02navigate the stage. Trying to navigate around them while dealing with the onslaught of goons takes
05:07real grits. Again, even with friends by your side. Then, it all ends with a pretty fierce boss battle
05:12against Krang. Best of luck.
05:15Party tamers for every foot!
05:24Scene 8, Spaceship Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 The Manhattan Project
05:35This is easily the hardest level in the entirety of the Manhattan Project. However, it also just so
05:40happens to have the best difficulty curve. It's a solid beat em up stage that slowly ups the ante,
05:46tossing increasingly tougher opponents your way as the stage progresses. It's honestly quite
05:51refreshing. Your skills will constantly be tested as baddies consistently pop up,
05:55and you will always be on your turtle toes. To keep the level from getting stale,
06:00you are also given a mini boss against a foot clan goon riding a robot, and a regular boss battle
06:05against Krang. It's an uber tough but fair fun level that is challenging and rewarding in equal measure.
06:21Neon Knight Riders Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4 Turtles in Time
06:31Outro
06:31Looky here everyone, another tough as nails auto scrolling level. Short, sweet, and brutal. Surprise,
06:37surprise. Well, a turtle, a hoverboard, loads of foot clan dudes, a neon drenched city, and Super
06:43Krang are what away you hear. This one is a pure test of reaction timing and quick second decision making,
06:49both during the initial part of the stage, and of course against Super Krang. Again, it's a very short
06:55stage, but it wastes no time at all in throwing you right into the thick of it. Like other auto
07:00scrolling levels that we have discussed on this list, success will generally come from memorizing
07:04the pacing of the levels and how the goons attack you.
07:16Area 6, The Technodrome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
07:26Are you prepared for the Technodrome? This is no cakewalk, it's a real doozy of a stage.
07:32It sets you up for the final boss battle against Shredder, itself quite easy all things considered.
07:37The Technodrome is a test of everything you have learned in the game so far, anticipating that you
07:42have gathered the necessary skills to barge through its gauntlet of pain. Baddies popping out of nowhere,
07:48projectiles flying about willy nilly, a sort of labyrinthian level layout, and your health bar
07:53getting decimated easily if you aren't careful. All leading the Technodrome to be one of the hardest
07:59in this whole game, but not the absolute hardest. Yeah, we'll get there soon, don't worry.
08:10Act 6, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Back From The Sewers
08:23Good golly, this act is downright brutal from top to bottom, split into smaller sub-levels,
08:28with each one punishing any careless moves. The stage starts out with a quick auto-scrolling section
08:34that will test your nerves, no surprise there. Then you are thrown in a gauntlet of various areas
08:38where baddies pop out of nowhere, constantly barrage you, and fill the screen up with projectiles and attacks.
08:44Plus, you even have to contend with a tough mini-boss. The fact that the screen real estate is tiny,
08:49given it's a Game Boy game, in tandem with large character sprites means that you have very little
08:54room for error as you traipse through this nightmarish act.
09:06Area 2, The Dam, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
09:18Yes, that's right, the downright most brutal level in all of TMNT video games is none other
09:24than this one, The Dam. It's likely the first level your mind conjures up when people ask about the
09:30hardest TMNT games or levels. It's infamous, it's notorious, it's honestly cruel at times. But yet, we
09:36somehow keep coming back for more for some odd reason. Most of the pain comes from the underwater
09:42bits and bobs where you have to disarm bombs under a strict time limit. All while avoiding lethal
09:47electric seaweed and an incredibly confusing stage layout, even though it's small overall. Now,
09:53that's not to say the pre-underwater parts are easy, far from it. But it's really the swimming
09:58section that makes us cringe even to this very day. Yeah, good luck, you will need it.
10:11So, what did you think of our picks for this list? What are the hardest levels you have endured
10:16in TMNT games? Let us know in the comments.
