00:12These are 10 Resident Evil characters we want to see in RE10.

00:31Hunk has always been one of the most popular characters in the entire Resident Evil universe,
00:36despite barely showing his face and saying relatively little.
00:39That's why seeing him finally take on a major role in Resident Evil 10
00:43would feel less surprising than it might first appear.
00:46Interestingly, early versions of what eventually became Resident Evil 3
00:49were reportedly set to feature Hunk much more prominently,
00:53making the idea feel like something Capcom has been circling back to for years.
00:57His involvement could also open up the door to exploring life after Umbrella
01:00and his possible connections to newer organizations such as The Connections.
01:04Even if he never became a playable character,
01:06crossing paths with him during the story could be as incredible as it was in RE9.

01:35One of the biggest improvements in the remake of Resident Evil 4 is how Ashley is portrayed.
01:40Rather than spending most of the adventure simply reacting to events around her,
01:45this version is far more capable and actively involved in what's happening.
01:48By the end of the game, she even floats the idea of following Leon's path
01:51and becoming some kind of government agent herself.
01:54As strange as that might sound at first,
01:56the series has already shown that traumatic experiences
01:58can surprisingly create capable survivors.
02:02Just look at Sherry Birkin, who went from frightened child to trained operative.
02:06Would the president really sign off on his daughter fighting bioweapons for a living?
02:10Maybe not, but somebody married Leon and I've got my money on Ashley,
02:14so let's just see what she's been up to, please.

02:45When Sherry Birkin first appeared in Resident Evil 2,
02:47most players probably assumed she was destined to remain a single-game character.
02:51Her role was important, but largely served to highlight Claire Redfield's protective
02:55and compassionate side during the nightmare in Raccoon City.
02:58That's why her return in Resident Evil 6 caught many fans by surprise.
03:02No longer a frightened child, Sherry had grown into a capable DSO agent
03:06and became one of the more enjoyable parts of a game that divided the fanbase.
03:10Her partnership with Jake Mueller brought some much-needed energy to the story,
03:14yet she's been missing from the spotlight until RE9.
03:17Seeing her provide tactical support for Leon feels like her full-circle moment,
03:21but f*** the circle.
03:23Let's get her in the field and see what she can do.
03:33Chris Redfield
03:38Chris has become so common in modern Resident Evil games that some fans have started joking
03:43that he has a key to every outbreak in the world.
03:45Between his appearances in multiple mainline entries
03:48and his playable roles across several DLC campaigns,
03:51there's no shortage of Chris content.
03:53Oddly enough, all of those appearances have only made his current situation more mysterious.
03:58Rather than wrapping up his story,
03:59Capcom keeps dropping little hints that there's still plenty going on behind the scenes.
04:03Chris kind of never stops working.
04:05The brief appearance of the Hound Wolf squad in Resident Evil Requiem
04:08only adds to that intrigue.
04:10When combined with Leon's suggestion that their paths may cross again,
04:13it feels less like a possibility and more like a promise
04:16that Chris will be a major player in the upcoming games.

04:27Prisoners to be transferred to the Regathon base for execution.

04:33Of all the classic heroes missing from the recent Resident Evil games,
04:37Rebecca Chambers might be one fans bring up most often.
04:40Since her major appearances in Resident Evil Zero and the original Resident Evil,
04:44she has largely been pushed into the background,
04:46occasionally popping up in animated films, reference materials, and little nods for long-time fans.
04:51The strange part is that Capcom never seems to forget she exists.
04:55Rebecca's photo continues to appear in Wesker-related jokes and easter eggs,
04:59including another appearance in Resident Evil Requiem,
05:01almost as if the series enjoys reminding players she's still around without actually letting her do anything.
05:07After years of growth from inexperienced medic to respected researcher,
05:12Rebecca now has a skill set unlike anyone else in the franchise.
05:15A major role in Resident Evil 10 would feel long overdue and give her the comeback many fans have been
05:20waiting for.

05:39Not many parts of Resident Evil 6 escaped criticism,
05:42but Jake Mueller is one character who still feels like he has unfinished business in the franchise.
05:46As the son of Albert Wesker,
05:48Jake was handed one of the most interesting legacies in the series,
05:52and then told to go home.
05:53There's plenty of room for future games to explore how he deals with the Shadowcast by his father's actions,
05:58particularly now that he understands exactly who he is and where he came from.
06:03His partnership with Sherry was also one of the strongest relationships introduced in the game,
06:07and feels worth revisiting.
06:09On top of that, Jake's enhanced abilities could create some unique gameplay opportunities.
06:12Think Rose Winters in the RE Village DLC.
06:17Yes, he's a mercenary,
06:19but right now he's under the protection of the US government.
06:22He's no threat to the PSAA.
06:24Unless someone pays me to be.

06:27Claire Redfield.
06:29Why does everyone think I'm gonna get in trouble?

06:37A remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica is on the way,
06:40and after the RE2 remake,
06:42Claire is being integrated into the RE universe pretty damn hard.
06:45Despite being one of the franchise's most important characters,
06:48Claire has spent much of the last decade watching events unfold from the sidelines.
06:52Aside from appearances in animated projects,
06:54and a handful of smaller roles,
06:56she hasn't had the same level of attention as Leon,
06:59even though both characters rose to fame during the Raccoon City disaster.
07:02A new game could finally show how Claire has evolved
07:05after years of fighting bioweapons and uncovering conspiracies.
07:09More importantly,
07:10it would give one of the series' most beloved heroes the spotlight she deserves.

07:40Even if a remake of Resident Evil 5 is eventually announced,
07:44it could still be quite a while before players get the chance to revisit that story.
07:48That delay creates an interesting opportunity
07:50for Capcom to bring back Sheva in a completely new game instead.
07:54Despite becoming a fan favorite after her debut,
07:57Sheva has been largely absent from the series for years,
08:00which feels like a missed opportunity considering her connections to the BSAA.
08:04Since she operates within the organization's West African division,
08:07there are plenty of believable ways to reintroduce her.
08:10She could arrive as an ally during a major outbreak
08:13and reunite with Chris Redfield,
08:15who is definitely the protagonist of RE10.

08:42If Capcom wants a character capable of carrying Resident Evil 10,
08:45it's hard to look past Jill Valentine.
08:47As one of the original faces of the franchise,
08:49Jill has been there since the beginning,
08:51yet she's spent surprisingly little time in the spotlight during the series' modern era.
08:56That absence feels even stranger when you consider how much history she has
09:00with the franchise's biggest events.
09:02A new appearance could bridge the gap between the survival horror roots of Resident Evil
09:05and the larger-scale action stories that followed.
09:08Drawing on everything Jill has experienced over the years,
09:11fans have long argued that she's been overlooked since Resident Evil Revelations,
09:15particularly as a playable character.
09:17With the 10th mainline entry representing a major milestone,
09:20it would be the perfect moment to finally bring her back to center stage,
09:24along with Chris.
09:26They started it.
09:2710 years later, they should team up again to finish it.

09:48helps Leon just enough to keep him alive,
09:50then vanishes before anyone can figure out whose side she's actually on.

09:55she should have been in Resident Evil Requiem.
09:57When has Leon ever been without her?
10:00That's why making her the lead of a full game might seem a little unusual,
10:03but I'm just asking for a side appearance.
10:05Ada hasn't had a major role since Resident Evil 6,
10:08leaving a huge gap in her story.
10:10A future appearance could finally reveal where she's been and who she's married to.
