00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning which has
00:04been a warm night leading into a very warm day temperatures higher than
00:08yesterday it's getting hotter at the same time high pressure sits across
00:12Denmark we do have some weather fronts attempting to push in from the Atlantic
00:16bringing some showery rain as we head through Wednesday as well as Thursday
00:20but temperatures are on the up so heat is building from the south pushing
00:26northwards and we'll see a peak in that heat on Thursday at the same time on
00:30Thursday yes you'll see some sporadic bursts of heavy rain towards the north
00:34and west of Scotland some showery bursts also for Northern Ireland but here's
00:38that amber warning for extreme heat anywhere from the North Midlands down
00:42towards the southeast and those temperatures rocketing through the
00:45afternoon more about that in a moment but notice through Thursday into Friday this
00:50cold front gradually drifts towards the east weakening all the while allowing for
00:55some fresher air to move in from the northwest and also a scattering of
00:59showers turning less hot across the southeast of England eventually through
01:03the weekend now through this morning it's a warm one across England and Wales
01:08dry skies sunny skies as the Sun rises and notice it will brighten up across
01:13Northern Ireland one or two showers here we are seeing some showery bursts
01:17pushing northwards the odd heavier pulse can't be ruled out and certainly drier
01:22skies central belt southwards with some sunshine coming through a bit of a
01:26breeze towards the west there with those showery downpours as we head through
01:31into the afternoon but for many through the afternoon it's fine and dry strong
01:36sunshine yet again a bit of a breeze along this east coast here but inland it
01:41turns hot as temperatures arrive around 28 Celsius by the south we'll likely see
01:46temperatures peaking into the 30s so 31 32 33 even higher than that anywhere
01:52particularly from mid Wales down towards the southeast the heat is concentrated
01:56across more central and western areas and for Scotland in shelter you could see a
02:0126 for Aberdeenshire as well as Angus 25 for the central belt Northern Ireland
02:05coming in and shelter with that sunshine 25 Celsius a brisk breeze towards the
02:10northwest of Scotland here temperatures 18 or 19 Celsius but for the Murray Firth yes we're
02:14likely to see temperatures up into the 22 23 24 now this evening we will see a
02:21dramatic partial solar eclipse will you see that well there will be some cloud
02:27around through the evening time certainly some showery bursts continue across the
02:33northwest of Scotland the far north but the cloud will break at times across much
02:37of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland so there is a chance of seeing the solar
02:41eclipse further south clear skies all the way so a warm one and certainly a clear
02:48one but you'll notice as that solar eclipse happens and it will be a partial
02:52eclipse probably up to around 90% even a little bit more the temperature will drop
02:57and the winds will drop as well eerie conditions but it's the best sighting we
03:02will see since 1999 so enjoy that safely so that's the picture as we head through the
03:08evening through the evening time yes again one or two showers are likely across the
03:13western side of Scotland towards the north there and again a heavier downpour is
03:18possible elsewhere some clearer skies it's going to be a warm one though
03:22temperatures holding very high overnight particularly across England and
03:27Wales and even Scotland seeing temperatures probably 16 or 17 but we could see
03:31temperatures dipping no lower than around 20 degrees Celsius through the early
03:36hours of the morning so a warm evening and night to come winds again will be light generally but
03:42more of a breeze towards the far north and northwest of Scotland so that leads into
03:48Thursday and Thursday the Met Office has issued this extreme heat warning it's an
03:53amber warning covering the Midlands North Midlands down towards the southeast the
03:59morning dawns bright for many with some sunshine although and yet again through the morning notice this
04:05shall we rain heavy at times towards the northwest Northern Ireland seeing some sporadic bursts as
04:11well and there is a risk of thunder towards the far northwest here's your warning zone yes south of
04:18Leeds down towards the home counties extending towards Birmingham as well and that's where the
04:23highest temperatures will be so relative to today where we'll see the highest temperatures
04:27further west more concentrated further east on a Thursday and those temperatures rising very quickly so
04:33there will be impacts associated with that high heat in terms of infrastructure and also health
04:39yes so the temperatures will rise as I said through the morning into the afternoon so let's have a look
04:46and
04:46see what's happening weather wise first of all through the afternoon you can see where the
04:50showery rain is cloud coming and going across central and eastern areas of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland but
04:57this
04:57showery rain could be heavy in places a fine day but a very hot one across England and Wales and
05:04here
05:05we'll see temperatures 36 37 perhaps even 38 degrees Celsius so yes an unusual event happening an extreme
05:14heat event yet again this summer lots of sunshine through the afternoon into evening time a very hot one
05:21leading into a very warm night so all in all yes things remain quite extreme particularly across
05:27England and Wales but could see 28 across the central belt of Scotland helped with that sunshine as I said
05:34through Friday things cooling down from the west a slow process across more central and eastern areas
05:40will still see temperatures into the 30s and certainly some showers in the mix again exposed towards the north and
05:46the west through the weekend as high pressure
05:49it's been with us off and on right the way through the stomachs and yet again from the southwest
05:53here's your city's list for Friday then notice there will be some showers around a fair amount of cloud towards
05:59the west
05:59we hang on to those higher temperatures that heat that hot weather across central and eastern areas but
06:06certainly I think for places such as Cardiff temperatures will be a good eight nine degrees lower than the next
06:1224 hours and beyond
06:14so all in all yes the weather will change it will be a slow process and into the weekends look
06:19at this temperatures 10 degrees lower than today if not tomorrow across the south east of England and some still
06:28some warmth in the air across the north where you will see some sunshine but some showers just coming and
06:33going across the country more concentrated across the north as well as the west wherever you are take care and
