00:00Sizzling sunshine for some, damp and dismal for others.
00:04It's another day of big contrasts across the country.
00:08Outbreaks of rain, heavy across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland,
00:12will slowly creep their way towards northwest England and west Wales through the day.
00:16Could be the odd rumble of thunder thrown in for good measure.
00:19Meanwhile, much of the Midlands in eastern England, dry and sunny.
00:23Just the potential for one or two thundery showers to come up from France later across the southeast.
00:28Something to watch here.
00:29Also later, Northern Ireland, western Scotland should turn brighter.
00:32But again, the risk of some thunderstorms, particularly in Northern Ireland, through the course of the afternoon.
00:37Temperatures are going to vary hugely.
00:39Stuck under this rainy zone, we'll see highs in the high teens at best.
00:44But then ahead of it, warm and humid air.
00:48So even if it's cloudy over parts of northeast England, we could get close to 25 Celsius.
00:52And in the sunshine, high 20s.
00:55And for some across east England and the southeast getting over 30 Celsius.
00:58Coasts will be cooler and some coasts will again stay fairly misty and murky.
01:03So lots going on with the weather as we go through the rest of today.
01:07During the evening, that rain will continue to edge its way into parts of northern England and Wales.
01:12Continued risk of some thunderstorms following on behind for a time.
01:16But the rain tends to fizzle out on this initial band.
01:19And then a further pulse of heavy, showery rain comes into Scotland and Northern Ireland through the night.
01:24It's going to be a warm and humid night.
01:27Certainly across much of the south.
01:29Temperatures likely to stay in the mid.
01:31In some urban areas, even high teens.
01:33A little more comfortable across northern Scotland.
01:36Slightly fresher air in place here.
01:38A great start though across much of Scotland too tomorrow.
01:41Some outbreaks of rain as well.
01:42But they should clear away.
01:44One or two scattered showers elsewhere on Saturday morning.
01:46But most places cheering up quite nicely tomorrow.
01:49Some spells of sunshine.
01:51Again, some of the coasts may be a little cooler with the breeze.
01:54And perhaps even a little misty and murky.
01:56But not so much as it will be through the day today.
01:59And a few showers coming into northern Scotland.
02:01Blown on by a fairly brisk breeze here.
02:04But elsewhere, the winds are light.
02:06But it is going to be fresher air.
02:07It won't be as humid.
02:09So even though there will be some afternoon sunshine.
02:11Temperatures more likely in the low to mid 20s.
02:15But perhaps still high 20s again over East Anglia and the southeast.
02:18A cooler feel in the northwest with those showers.
02:21And the brisk breeze coming into western Scotland.
02:24During Saturday evening, not a great deal of change.
02:27High pressure is moving in however as we go through the weekend.
02:30So it's this cold front that introduces the cloud early on on Saturday.
02:34And eventually the slightly cooler air.
02:37But there's the high pressure that builds back in behind this cold front.
02:41And as it does so and pushes northwards, well, it'll bring a fine day for many on Sunday.
02:46But also we'll start to see the heat returning.
02:49Particularly across the south.
02:50But even extending further north by the time we get to Monday.
02:54Temperatures in the south on Monday could get into the mid 30s in places.
02:59And that is pretty unusual for this time of year.
