00:00Hello. The weather remains pretty changeable. Fairly typical April fare. Maybe signs of
00:05something a bit drier as we head into the weekend. More on that in a moment. First of
00:09all, let's get back to the here and now. The UK has been smothered in cloud. Out in the
00:14Atlantic we've got swirls of cloud. A couple of them in fact. Both areas of low pressure
00:19and they'll be controlling our weather over the next couple of days. Bringing us weather
00:23fronts and zones of showers as well. Weather fronts currently sitting over us. They're
00:29responsible for the cloudy conditions. But it is getting a bit brighter for some of
00:32us this afternoon. That cold front though also providing some quite heavy rain
00:36through the middle part of the day over parts of Wales. Southwest England
00:40spreading into northwest England and steadily moving from west to east across
00:44Scotland. And much of eastern Scotland staying dry until late in the day. Most
00:48of eastern England also staying dry for most of the afternoon. And where it
00:52brightens up here it'll get quite warm with temperature 17-18 degrees. Further west
00:57it's also going to get brighter. But there will be bands of showers coming in to
01:00Wales, southwest England and Northern Ireland. These could be heavy, even
01:04thundery. But they will tend to zip through because of the fairly brisk wind
01:08that's blowing. Now winds obviously having an impact on the feel of the day. But
01:12temperature wise, as I said, really quite mild across these eastern areas. 17-18 degrees
01:16with a bit of sunshine. Further west this afternoon temperatures 13-14 and
01:21feeling pretty fresh with that gusty wind. And when the heavy, potentially even
01:25thundery showers come along. They should be fading pretty rapidly over
01:28Wales and southwest England this evening. The rain spreads its way across
01:31eastern England and then out into the North Sea pretty sharply too. We'll keep
01:35outbreaks of rain going across Scotland for much of the night. But elsewhere, many
01:39places becoming largely dry through the night. A few showers keeping going for
01:43Northern Ireland and Northern England. We'll keep a fairly brisk wind blowing and
01:46that'll help to keep the temperatures up. So many towns and cities holding up at 8, 9, 10 degrees
01:52Celsius. Quite a mild start to Thursday. Overall a drier day but there'll still be
01:58some rain around certainly across Scotland. Fairly frequent showers in western
02:02Scotland and still pretty blustery here. A few showers through the central
02:05belt, the odd one for Northern Ireland. And during the day expecting some
02:09showers to develop across parts of southern England. It won't rain all day but
02:13some showers here. A good part of Northern England, Wales, the Midlands most of the day
02:17will be dry and bright with some decent spells of sunshine coming through. Still a brisk
02:22wind around western coast and across Northern Scotland but overall the winds
02:26touched down on today's for sure. And some temperatures, well, similar to today. So
02:32mid-teens, broadly speaking, not quite as warm across the east but with lighter winds
02:36feeling pretty pleasant, I suspect, in the sunny spells. Now behind me there is more rain
02:41gathering spreading into the Republic of Ireland initially. Parts of southwest England.
02:46South Wales may see some during Thursday evening. That's that next weather system we saw right
02:51at the start. Spreading rain into Northern Ireland. Also another area of low pressure.
02:56Again, fairly active looking, bringing gusty winds and more weather fronts in across the country
03:01during Friday. So getting very windy across the northwest as that low moves through during Friday
03:07afternoon and into the evening. But look at this. Behind that, a chunky area of high pressure
03:12is waddling its way towards us and that should calm the weather down. Bringing a lot of dry
03:17and bright weather certainly across the country on Sunday. For more details on that and a look
