01:24to the league that he had but he didn't sign anything and so minnesota what it's wild right

01:56said it minnesota didn't care that much about that they trade up with houston in the 85 draft
02:05the bills have the first pick they're taking bruce smith and they have kelly although he's not here yet
02:10so they didn't have any interest in kosar didn't need kosar minnesota trades up to like three
02:16so that they can pick him but they don't know for sure whether he's going to be in the draft

02:21eventually he's not and so there's a lawsuit houston wants the pick back
02:28so houston sues the league and rosell p rosell the commissioner of the league then
02:34and they want the draft stopped they want the draft to not happen because of this confusion
02:40forever and ever or just for this i don't know when it will abolish for 1985 okay so quietly the
02:47bills make this deal with the browns and the bills get their first their third a sixth and chip banks
02:55linebacker chip banks who was an all pro and the browns get the rights to that supplemental pick
03:01which had the bills not traded it they would have been the first overall pick the next year
03:06but they did so one thing that happened was what i read nobody could find chip banks
03:15to tell him about this trade i mean it was like the spring anyway right nobody could find him
03:21so the bills on a fishing trip maybe just like i'm not taking i'm not answering my phone i don't

03:28to be traded right who i don't know so i thought you were traveling everywhere with a phone like
03:32that that right not being like well the number we have they say he's not there they don't know
03:38where he is nobody knows where he is okay so they can't the bills don't get chip banks instead they

03:49they might have liked the idea of chip banks helping them right away but still a first round pick

04:47board which is i'm going to try the supplemental draft um i mean he's already carrying the stigma
04:55of having had a you know obviously a big enough problem with gambling that it cost him
05:01some portion of his college career i don't know how hard and fast the rules are and i i know
05:09lots of
05:09people will be waiting to tell us how duplicitous it is but i'm assuming the league the nfl i'm talking
05:15about will this guy's already got strikes on him i think i would think as far as gambling goes so
05:24i don't mean some you're gonna you're gonna have to swallow hard and trust this kid if you're gonna
05:29invest in him because he might be one one mishap away from being gone forever because of what happened
05:36already in college with him and so that i mean i know teams are generally pretty risk averse you know
05:46to some extent it depends on how talented you are i don't know that this guy is so talented that
05:51somebody's gonna go all right yeah i'm not gonna worry about that especially with a supplemental pick
05:56like what you know you're you're you're you basically be just all right i'm gonna do this
06:01in lieu of doing something that might be a better idea eight months or nine months from now
