00:00It's got a fun name and also has a lot riding on it. A voter Rama today in the Senate
00:05over
00:05President Trump's immigration agenda. But the real focus. So it's a scramble on the hill right
00:10now. Republican leaders trying to get major parts of President Trump's agenda over the finish line
00:15as they face a revolt from inside their own party. First in the House, four Republicans broke ranks
00:21to join Democrats to support a resolution aimed at reigning in President Trump's war powers in
00:27Iran. Here are the four that voted across party with Democrats, not really cross party lines,
00:32but voted with Democrats on it. If it were to pass in the Senate, it would direct the president to
00:37either withdraw troops or come to Congress for approval to continue the war. That's in the
00:41House. Now the Senate today is expected to kick off a marathon voting session. They call it a voter Rama
00:46to try and pass $70 billion in new immigration enforcement funding. It's been stalled for
00:52weeks by a GOP revolt over the president's $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund and also the
01:00billion dollars for security enhancements for the new White House ballroom. The Senate dropped the
01:04ballroom money. So that hurdle, no more. And acting Attorney General Todd Blanche told Congress this
01:09week that that fund, the anti-weaponization fund, not moving forward, period, he said. So another hurdle
01:15passed. Actually not. Enter President Trump yesterday in the Oval Office. So now a group of Republicans
01:23are demanding guarantees in writing in legislation that the fund is truly dead before they vote yes
01:28on the ICE funding. CNN's Atlanta train live this morning at the White House. A whole lot going on
01:35Capitol Hill, but it has everything to do with what's going on behind you at the White House. What are
01:42you
01:42doing? Angry? I hadn't thought of that line before you. I'm super angry. Well done. Let's turn to this.
01:46There's some big news coming in overnight. A family search. Fans waking up bleary-eyed, but still pumped.
01:51Just a perfect way to describe the entire studio crew today. The Knicks went on a tear in the opener
01:57of the NBA Finals to win game one against the Spurs. CNN's Koi Wire has it all. Bleary-eyed. Welcome
02:04to CNN News
02:05Central. How's it going, Koi? Yeah. Bleary-eyed Brad and Lou. We'll check on them in between
02:10ticker tape parade and coffee-fueled hysteria. How are Brad and Lou holding up this morning?
02:15I had to ask if they were even here. That's how tired they are. I mean, Lulu, I can always
02:20know where
02:20you are. But here is something. Lou is hiding. Brad is hiding. They say they've had too much fame,
02:26is I think what I was told. But like, let's be honest. If you know these men, you know they'll
02:32have a
02:32little attention. But most importantly, get over here, boys. They need to embrace this moment.
02:37They don't come around every decade. Let me ask nicely. Lulu, please come over here.
02:41There he is. Bring him out. I was promised. And America was promised a gun show, quote,
02:47if they win. And now Lou has renegotiated the deal and says, Koi, if they win the whole thing.
02:54The whole thing. I did not hear that yesterday. That was part of the deal. It was supposed to be
02:57all
02:57I thought we were promised today, Kate. Thank you. That's the only reason I came to work.
03:02And I even wore a tie to look professional when the gun show occurred. But no, we won't see those
03:06muscles no one's seen since last summer, guys. Come on. Yeah. But I mean, there's Koi. Koi's like,
03:11oh, wait, I'll take part. I'll take part. I'll take part. Yeah, Koi, we see where this goes.
03:15All right. I love you. Congrats. I love you. Congrats. Thank you so much.
03:21Renegotiated on live TV. Koi, I love you. Thank you so much. More to come.
03:30On Iran, President Trump is facing growing resistance on Capitol Hill over the conflict.
03:35Overnight, the House passed a measure to rein in President Trump's War Powers Authority as the war
03:40stretches past three months. A measure that directs President Trump to withdraw U.S. forces
03:45or come to Congress to win approval. How'd that happen in a GOP-controlled House?
03:49Four Republicans joined Democrats in what is a clear sign of the growing opposition or at least
03:55unease with how this war is going. Joining us right now is what could be a major threat to food
04:00production here in the United States for the first time in decades. A case of a highly destructive
04:07flesh-eating worm known as the New World Screw Worm has been confirmed.
04:13News Central. Mark Morales, where are you at, everybody? Let's turn to this. Nothing short of a miracle.
04:18That is how police in Georgia are describing what happened after a boy was thrown from a pickup truck
04:23during a crash. Watch this. A new study shows popular weight loss and diabetes drugs could also
04:29help lower the risk of breast cancer. A study of more than 100,000 women found that those prescribed
04:34GLP-1 medications were about 30% less likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer compared with women
04:40not using GLP-1s. Hopeful news, perhaps, but also researchers stress, though, that this is an
04:46observational study and does not prove that these medications prevent cancer.
04:52CNN got an inside look at a monumental art installation that has taken over one of Paris'
04:57most iconic landmarks. Street artist J.R. transformed the pont of the city's oldest bridge into a massive
05:04inflatable cave nearly 60 feet over the Seine. It's held up by nothing but air pressure inside.
05:11CNN's Melissa Bell spoke with the project's creative director.
05:15So the installation was set to open tomorrow, but the structure actually suffered wind damage
05:19over the weekend. Engineers are now assessing the damage before a new opening date is announced.
05:24John?
05:24Only a-
05:25A marathon voting session about to get underway. They call it a voterama in the Senate. The focus,
05:30$70 billion for ICE and Border Patrol. But there's also a possible Republican revolt and rebellion in
05:37the making there over the president's own wishes. And desperate search for an American student is
05:44underway. He went missing during a family vacation in Japan. His parents say that he went out to explore
05:49and never returned. So there's now a desperate search happening for a 20-year-old Auburn University
05:55student. He's gone missing in Japan. James Weston Higginbotham. He was last seen Friday at a train
06:02station in Kyoto while on a family trip. His family says that his phone's tracking feature suddenly just
06:08turned off. And now police are reviewing surveillance cameras to try and track his movements. CNN's
06:14Haneke Montgomery is in Kyoto following this. Spoke with Weston's family. Haneke, what's the latest
06:19that you're hearing?
06:21So we also have news on the Ebola crisis. A crisis health officials are calling.
06:25Thank you so much. Joining us right now is Democratic Congressman Seth Moulton of Massachusetts. He's also
06:30running for Senate. Congressman, thank you for being here. On those four Republicans that voted with
06:34Democrats yesterday to move for us, video of a scary crash. So a warning today about what's described as
06:42a new class of cyber threat, something that could lead to an entirely new and supercharged
06:47era of computer hacking. Data scientists at the University of Toronto, in an effort to enhance
06:52security for AI, created what they're calling a digital worm. It essentially is a self-replicating
06:58virus that can spread through computer networks without any human intervention and learn as it goes.
07:05The researchers on the project say this worm would be capable of targeting any known flaw
07:09in computer security. Thanks right now. All right, on Capitol Hill today, President Trump
07:15is facing a rebellion from his own party on multiple fronts. In the House, four Republicans
07:20crossed party lines to join with Democrats and pass a resolution that would reign in the president's
07:26war powers when it comes to Iran. But this is, we'll show you, what is on the Senate's agenda today.
07:32Republicans are expected to launch a voting marathon to try and pass $70 billion in funding for ICE and
07:40Border Patrol. It's been held up for weeks by what has been a growing GOP revolt, partially over the
07:48president's $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund. The acting attorney general Todd Blanche, he told
07:54Congress this week that the fund is not moving forward, period. So that hurdle was passed. Not so fast.
08:00The president didn't seem so sure about that when it was asked about it just yesterday, calling the
08:06fund a beautiful thing. Now, some Republicans say they are not ready to vote yes on that big
08:11immigration funding bill until they are certain that that anti-weaponization fund is truly dead
08:17and shall not be resurrected. CNN's Lauren Fox is live on Capitol Hill today. Okay, what are you
08:23hearing about all of this? Any moment, a hearing is set to begin in the au pair affair double is
08:30a
08:31desperate search underway right now for a 20 year old Auburn University student missing in Japan.
08:36His name is James. He's in his Weston Higginbotham. He was last seen Friday at a train station in Kyoto.
08:42He was on vacation with his family and his family says that his phone's tracking system just suddenly
08:48turned off and now police are reviewing surveillance cameras to try and track his movements. CNN's
08:55Isabel Rosales is joining us. She's got the very latest on this. What are you hearing about this,
08:59Isabel? Okay, good morning. Yes, that's Julianne Moore. She's coming right now. June is Alzheimer's
09:06and Brain Awareness Month. The CD is the routine part of our overall health as it's so overlooked by so
09:13many. To help spread the word, Lily has turned to advocate and actress Julianne Moore. And we know
09:19how fun it is to watch yourself. Yeah, it's agony. It's agony to watch myself. Whatever we watch back
09:24interview, I'm like, come on, Kate, sum it up. Yeah, come on. Julianne Moore, we're all the same.
09:31When you were going into this role for Syl Alice, you had said that you really didn't know much about
09:37all that and how it's brought you here. Well, I haven't been personally impacted by the disease and
09:42the disease and the disease and the disease and the disease. So with this campaign that I'm doing
09:45with Lily, it's really to encourage people. I was circling things on my paper. Don't forget.
09:51But that's what I was circling because you, first of all, you're really leaning into this. This is super.
09:57When we knew you were coming in, I started thinking, how is it possible right now that it isn't
10:03more routine, right? Like overall health is like the conversation everyone is having. But you were
10:08absolutely right that when you talk about brain health and a cognitive exam or anything like that,
10:12that's not at the forefront of the kind of overall through. What is the stigma?
10:17I don't know. That's interesting, isn't it? I mean, with still Alice, the response is so strong. Yeah,
10:23because a lot of people said that they didn't feel so alone because of they feel so alone and you
10:29feel so
10:31truly unseen when it comes to Alzheimer's. What is it like to kind of get that response? You study,
10:38you do your job. You want to portray it as authentically and honestly as possible. And then
10:44to have people say essentially, thank you that you've never met. What is that? What is that
10:49condition is and how you can help people and how you can help family members as well?
10:55You are starring in and producing a new Netflix comedy. What's this?
11:01Oh, oh, there was just an announcement about the the romantic comedy. That's right. Yeah.
11:06I don't know if there are any... Still in the development stage, I understand.
11:09Yeah, still in development, so maybe we could add it. Yeah.
11:11Ann, you are an advocate, actress, executive producer, also a children's book author. Yeah.
11:17I have never had the opportunity to meet you before, but I have to say,
11:21Freckle Face Strawberry is such a huge visit, which is accepting oneself and loving oneself.
11:29Right. You kind of, you are who you are. And I think the things that...
11:32How do you feel about the Knicks so far? Go New York, go man. What a night. What a...
11:38Strapping gentlemen that they're going to... Oh, the Knicks are going all the way.
11:41Okay. Well, here we go. Yeah. Julianne Moore coming back for the gun show, everyone.
11:45I'm so happy for you. It's great to see you. Thank you so much for coming.
11:48Thank you. And for your advocacy in this regard. Thank you so much.
11:50Thanks. All right. Coming up for us, a first look.
11:54Nick Spieberg very clearly alive and well and in full swing today.
12:00The New York Knicks putting on a big show deep in the hot of Tejas,
12:04taking game one from the San Antonio Spurs. Let us bring back the one and only Koi Wire for more.
12:10How great were they, Koi? Yes. Good to see you again, Kate. The Knicks.
12:15Thank you, Sarah. Thank you, Sarah.
12:17Sarah? Sarah? Sarah? Okay.
12:19Sarah is away today. Okay.
12:21Thanks much for joining us. This is CNN News Central.
12:24Situation Room's up next.
12:50Hush.
12:50I'm a little bit.
13:06I'm a little bit.
13:06But then, here, this is a show.
13:13You're a little bit.
13:13You
