00:00Praise the Lord.
00:01Our greetings to you in the name of the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ.
00:06Dear friends, I hope that you're all doing well.
00:09God has given us this wonderful morning to get back into His presence,
00:15to steady His word,
00:17to thank God for the life that He has given us this morning,
00:21that we can pour our hearts in His presence to thank Him.
00:25Let's pray.
00:26Father in heaven, we thank and we praise you.
00:30For who you are and what you've done and what you're still doing in our lives.
00:35Your wonderful God who has been leading us through all these days we come across.
00:41And that this wonderful morning as we prepare our hearts for your word.
00:45As you said, man shall not live by bread alone,
00:48but he liveth by every word that proceeded off from him.
00:52We believe you're a God who strengthens us by your word.
00:56Speak to our hearts and our life.
00:59Teach us the will and the purpose that you have for each one of us.
01:03In Jesus' name we ask and we pray.
01:06Amen.
01:08This morning if you have your Bibles with me,
01:11Get back your Bibles with me to the book of 1 Samuel chapter 3 and verse 10.
01:17And the Lord came to Samuel instead and called as at the other times,
01:23Samuel, Samuel.
01:25Then Samuel answered to the Lord and said,
01:28Speak for thy servant heareth.
01:33This morning we're going to talk about listen slowly.
01:38When a person is talking to us,
01:41we listen slowly with a ready of mind
01:45because we understand his words are so precious to our life.
01:51So we decide not to miss the speech of the other person.
01:56Then remember when a lot of hosts that is our Lord God,
02:01when he desires to speak to our life,
02:04we also have to have an attitude of with a ready mind.
02:11Remember, God spoke to Abraham in Genesis chapter 15.
02:18God spoke to Adam and Eve in Genesis chapter 3.
02:23God spoke to Jacob in Genesis chapter 28 and chapter 35 too.
02:29And God even spoke to the men whose name called Moses in Exodus chapter 3.
02:34And now, God is speaking to a little boy whose name called Samuel in 1 Samuel chapter 3.
02:42Remember, if God wants to speak to a people,
02:46Paul, we all need to have on a readiness of mind.
02:50This morning, it is not me who speaks and delivers the message to you,
02:54but it is the Lord who is speaking to each one of us.
02:58We need to hear the word of the Lord with a ready heart.
03:05The Bible says in the 1 Samuel chapter 3,
03:08Samuel heard the voice of the Lord.
03:12Today, we're going to discuss about
03:13what are the steps to hear the voice of the Lord even in our life,
03:18just as Samuel, how he heard the voice of the Lord.
03:22Let's get back with me this morning
03:26to the book of 1 Samuel chapter 3 and verse 3.
03:31And Samuel was where the ark of the Lord was,
03:35And Samuel was laid down to sleep.
03:40If God wants to speak to your heart,
03:43or if you would like to listen to the voice of God,
03:46you need to have to get into the presence of the Lord.
03:51Remember, in those days,
03:54after Samuel was born,
03:55and mother Hannah left Samuel to be in the presence of the Lord.
04:00And Samuel was growing under thee,
04:03a man whose name called Eli,
04:07and Samuel living up his life in the presence of the Lord.
04:11The Bible says in the presence of the Lord,
04:13there is the ark of God
04:16where Samuel was laid near to the ark.
04:21Remember, the ark of the covenant in the Old Testament
04:24is a sign of the presence of the Lord.
04:28It is about a time when Moses had been praying to the Lord,
04:31Lord, who is going to come with me?
04:33And the Lord spoke to Moses and said,
04:36Moses, my presence shall come with thee.
04:39And the presence of the Lord
04:40was in the midst of the Israel and Moses.
04:45And how?
04:46Now, as according as being the ark of the covenant.
04:51So wherever the people of Israel traveled,
04:54they used to carry up the ark of the covenant,
04:56which means that the presence of the Lord was with them.
05:01Just now, listen carefully.
05:04There was a temple,
05:05and in that temple,
05:06there is the ark of the covenant of God,
05:08and Samuel was sleeping
05:10near to the ark of the covenant of God.
05:15As long as you roam here and there,
05:17as long as you work on in your life,
05:19you will never listen to the voice of God.
05:22But when you get into the presence of the Lord,
05:25you will surely hear to the voice of God in your life.
05:29The moment when you pray in the presence of the Lord,
05:32the moment when you kneel in God's presence,
05:34the moment when you ask God,
05:36Lord, speak to me,
05:38and you will surely hear the voice of the Lord in your life.
05:44If you would like to hear the voice of the Lord in your life,
05:47you need to get in touch with the presence of God in your life.
05:54And the second thing,
05:55turn with me to the first Samuel chapter 3 and verse 10.
06:00And Samuel said,
06:02Speak, speak.
06:05The second thing,
06:07if you want to hear the voice of the Lord in your life,
06:10you need to have a heart of submission.
06:14It was about a time Samuel heard the voice of the Lord for three a times.
06:20And Samuel did not recognize it is the voice of the Lord.
06:24He went back to the man whose name called Eli,
06:26who was his master,
06:27and asked,
06:29Master, I'm here.
06:29You call me a thrice.
06:31And Eli understood it is not he that calleth Samuel,
06:35but it is the Lord of hosts who calleth Samuel.
06:38And Eli told Samuel,
06:40Samuel, listen,
06:40when you hear the voice again,
06:43you must say,
06:44Speak.
06:45Your servant is listening.
06:47Your servant.
06:49It's a heart of submission.
06:52Samuel came back,
06:54and he was laying down nearer to the ark of God.
06:56Again,
06:57the voice of the Lord came to Samuel and said,
07:00Samuel,
07:01Samuel.
07:02And Samuel said,
07:04Speak,
07:04Lord.
07:04Your servant is listening.
07:07Your servant.
07:09Samuel recognized that God is his master.
07:13Samuel recognized himself that he is a slave and servant before God.
07:19Always remember,
07:20friends,
07:20this morning,
07:21we are not greater than God.
07:23We are not greater than anything.
07:24We are not greater than the creation.
07:27We are not greater than the creator who had created us our lives.
07:31All we need to do every single morning is,
07:33we just need to fall before the presence of the Lord and exalt him.
07:37Understand,
07:39acknowledging that we are slaves and servant in the presence of the Lord.
07:43We need to have such kind of a submitted heart in God's presence.
07:49You know,
07:50Abraham said,
07:51Lord,
07:51who am I to speak to you?
07:53I'm a dust and ashes.
07:54This is Psalm chapter 8 and verse 3 and 4.
07:58David said this way,
07:59Lord,
07:59when I consider the heavens and the work of thy hands and your creation,
08:06Lord,
08:06who am I to be reminded by you?
08:09What is man to be reminded by you?
08:11The word man in the Bible,
08:12in the Greek Bible,
08:14it comes from a name called sinner.
08:16We are all sinners before God.
08:19There is no point that God has to consider,
08:21show his love upon sinners for each one of us.
08:24While we are all sinners,
08:26but Christ loved his.
08:29Christ loved us.
08:31Christ loved us.
08:33We need to thank God for his love.
08:36And we need to have a heart of submission saying,
08:38Lord,
08:39I'm your servant.
08:40I'm your slave.
08:41I'm your handmaid.
08:42I'm your worker.
08:45I'm ready to listen to you when you speak to me.
08:50When we are able to have that kind of submission of heart,
08:54God is able to surely speak to our lives.
09:00The third thing,
09:021 Samuel chapter 3 and verse 10.
09:06Speak for thy servant heareth.
09:10Lord,
09:11speak to me.
09:12Number three,
09:13if you want the Lord to speak to your life,
09:15you need to be ready.
09:19Lord,
09:20I'm ready.
09:20You speak.
09:21That's what Samuel's reply towards the Lord of hosts.
09:25I'm ready.
09:26I'm ready.
09:27If you're ready to hear the voice of the Lord in your life,
09:31and God is also ready to speak to your heart,
09:34to speak to our lives,
09:36all we need to do is to say to the Lord,
09:39Lord,
09:40I am ready to hear your voice.
09:44Of course,
09:45in those days there,
09:46it is impossible,
09:47and it is very rare
09:50that the voice of the Lord to come upon the people,
09:53that people to hear the voice of the Lord in their life.
09:56But Samuel had that privilege
09:59and Samuel also had the great burden upon his life
10:03and the burden is to go and tell what the Lord tells him to do.
10:11That the sons of Eli,
10:14they were sinning.
10:15They're committing sin.
10:17God chose Samuel to go to Eli and say that they're committing sin.
10:26That they're doing sin in the sight of the Lord.
10:31It is a great task.
10:33Eli was a master to Samuel.
10:38Now Samuel had a burden to go to Eli
10:40and said what the Lord had told him to do.
10:48And Samuel said,
10:54He has a readiness of mind and heart.
10:58If you're able to have that kind of a heart of readiness,
11:02we are able to listen to the voice of the Lord in our lives.
11:09So God desires to speak to each one of us today.
11:14If you're ready,
11:15He's able to speak to each one of us.
11:21If you would like to hear the voice of the Lord,
11:23you need to spend your time in the presence of the Lord.
11:27If you want to hear the voice of the Lord,
11:29you need to have to have submitted heart.
11:32If you want to hear the voice of the Lord,
11:35and you need to be readiness of mind.
11:39Listen slowly when God speaks to us.
11:43Let's pray.
11:44Heavenly Father, we thank you for your word.
11:47Thanking you for strengthening our life by your word.
11:52Lord, every single morning,
11:53help us to hear your voice
11:56and walk according to your word.
11:58We don't know what's going to be happening today,
12:01but we all know something,
12:03that you're all going to be with us
12:05through all this day in all our lives.
12:09Father in heaven, we thank you
12:12for feeding us,
12:13for providing us,
12:15for saving us from dangers and zoms.
12:18And we give this day to your hands, Father.
12:22Lead us and guide us in everything that we do.
12:26Answer all our prayers.
12:27Meet all the needs of your people.
12:30And also, Lord,
12:31I pray this morning,
12:33those who are celebrating at their birthdays,
12:36Lord, bless them.
12:37Let them have a successful and a blessed years
12:40in the days to come.
12:42And also, Lord,
12:43I really pray for those
12:45who are lacking something in their life.
12:47I pray that you will meet their needs.
12:50Lord, those who are not safe slaves,
12:52save them, oh Lord,
12:54before your coming comes.
12:56I even pray for those people
12:57who are waiting
12:59for jobs and something in their life.
13:01I pray that you will
13:02bless them miraculously in their hand.
13:06We give all our lives to you.
13:08In Jesus' glorious name,
13:10we ask and we pray.
13:11Amen.
