00:02I bring greetings to you all in the name of the Lord and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
00:07The Lord is good and His mercy is everlasting.
00:11It's a time for us to recollect the faithfulness and the goodness and the blessings of the Lord that we
00:18have received in our life.
00:21Let's all look to the Lord in prayer as we study the Word of God for this morning.
00:25Almighty God and merciful Heavenly Father, we thank and we praise you for this blessed time that you have given
00:32to us.
00:34Father, this morning as we study your Word, we ask and we pray that you will speak with us and
00:40strengthen us.
00:41That we might walk in your ways and we might understand your Word and apply it to our hearts.
00:49In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
00:52If you have your Bible this morning with me, turn with me to the book of Habakkuk chapter 2 and
01:00verse 4.
01:02But the just shall live by his faith.
01:06This morning we are going to meditate on the topic of living by faith.
01:14The Bible clearly speaks that we are not to live by sight, but we are need to live by faith.
01:21What does it mean to live by sight?
01:24The example is the life of Israel.
01:27When they're walking in the wilderness about 40 years of their journey,
01:32they walked by sight but not by faith.
01:36When they have seen the blessings of God or when they have received the food of manna
01:42or when God had provided them the resources in the wilderness of their journey,
01:48they began to praise the Lord.
01:51But when God had stopped giving His blessings to them,
01:56they began to curse God.
02:00They lived by sight, but they did not live by faith.
02:06Every Christian, every believer who were called to be as a Christian,
02:13that we are ought to live by faith, not by sight.
02:18This morning as we go through the book of Habakkuk,
02:21we will understand what does it mean to live by faith.
02:25The word Habakkuk, which means embrace.
02:31As we go through this chapter,
02:34we will understand how Habakkuk lived the life of faith.
02:41And what does it mean to live by faith?
02:45Number one, to live by faith, which means waiting for God to answer us.
02:55Remember, we have a God who answers our prayers.
03:01In Habakkuk chapter 1 and verses 2 and 3,
03:10Habakkuk was praying unto the Lord,
03:12Lord, how long shall I cry?
03:15And thou will not hear,
03:17even cry out unto thee of violence,
03:21and thou will not save us.
03:24He has the deepest desire and was crying unto the Lord.
03:29We have been under the kingdom of Babylon for a long time.
03:34Why you have not been answering our prayers?
03:37Why you have not been hearing our prayers?
03:40Why we are not getting deliverance or freedom
03:42from the city or from the Babylonian cultures
03:46and from the wickedness of Israel.
03:50He was crying unto the Lord.
03:54But when we drop down to Habakkuk chapter 1 and verses 6,
03:59the Lord began to answer to Habakkuk.
04:05What does it mean to live by faith?
04:08which means to wait for God to answer our prayers.
04:16And the Lord said,
04:17Habakkuk, I will raise up the Chaldeans,
04:19that which are bitter and a hasty nation,
04:23which shall march through the breadth of the land
04:26to possess the dwelling places that are not theirs.
04:30They are very terrible and dreadful.
04:33Because of the sins of Israel and the sins of Judah,
04:37the Lord punished the nation of Israel.
04:41They were under the bondage and the slavery of Babylon.
04:46And Habakkuk, with a burdened heart,
04:49he was crying unto the Lord.
04:51When he cried,
04:53he received an answer from God in his life.
05:00Living by faith,
05:01which means waiting for God to answer us.
05:06This morning, friends,
05:07if you have been calling unto the Lord for many years,
05:11maybe the request that you have been placed before the Lord
05:14and asking Him,
05:15Lord, answer my prayers.
05:17But we have a God who truly answers.
05:20But you always need to rely
05:23and wait on God for His answer.
05:28The Bible says that Abraham waited for 25 years
05:33that his promise of God to be fulfilled in his life.
05:38The word of the Lord came to Abraham when he was 75
05:42and he believed in God's word.
05:47That's why he was counted as righteous man.
05:51And his promise which he had received,
05:55it was fulfilled after 25 years.
06:00He waited for God's answer.
06:05Let us all live by faith,
06:08which means waiting on the Lord
06:10for His answer in His time.
06:14The Bible says,
06:16this poor man cried
06:17and the Lord heard his cry
06:19and delivered him from all his troubles.
06:24Number two,
06:26living by faith,
06:28which means obeying God.
06:32Habakkuk chapter 2
06:36and verses 2,
06:39the Bible says,
06:40And the Lord answered me
06:42and said,
06:43Write the vision
06:44and make it plain upon table
06:46that he may run
06:48that readeth it.
06:51He obeyed
06:52to the call of God.
06:54He obeyed
06:55when the Lord
06:56had answered
06:57to him.
06:58What the Lord had answered,
07:00the Lord declared
07:01all the sins of Israel
07:03and the sins of Judah
07:04and told Habakkuk
07:06to write
07:09on a sky
07:12and that everyone
07:14that he may runneth
07:15and that he might see it
07:17and readeth it
07:18and understand
07:19what are the sins
07:20of their lives.
07:22He obeyed
07:24to it.
07:26When the Lord
07:28speak with you
07:30or when the Lord
07:30giveth his answer
07:32to you
07:32even though
07:33it might not seem
07:34to be a right,
07:36even though
07:37it might not seem
07:38to be
07:38the easiest things,
07:41even though
07:42it might seem
07:43to be the hardest
07:44things for your life,
07:45but it is better
07:47to obey
07:48to the Lord.
07:51That's what
07:52living by faith
07:54which means.
07:55Lord,
07:56I take everything
07:58in my life
07:59because you
08:00told me
08:01to do
08:01be in this
08:02way.
08:03Lord,
08:04I take
08:04everything
08:05in my life
08:05in a positive
08:06way.
08:09It's not
08:10showing up
08:10a rebellion
08:11life,
08:12but it's
08:13showing a
08:14submission
08:14and humble
08:15life unto you.
08:18That's what
08:19the Bible
08:20says
08:20living
08:21by faith.
08:24when Abraham
08:25received the
08:26call from
08:26the Lord
08:27regarding
08:28about his
08:29country
08:29and the
08:30Lord told
08:31him to
08:31live your
08:32country,
08:32your land,
08:34your family
08:35and everything,
08:36even though
08:37he neveth not
08:38where the
08:38Lord is leading
08:39him,
08:39but he
08:40left all
08:41things
08:41and he
08:43followed the
08:43Lord.
08:44How about
08:45Simon Peter?
08:46The Lord
08:47called him
08:48and the
08:48Bible
08:48says
08:49that he
08:49forsook
08:49their nets,
08:50their profession,
08:51their families
08:52and he
08:53forsook
08:54their boats
08:54and everything
08:55and they
08:56began to
08:57follow the
08:57Lord.
09:00When you
09:01receive an
09:01answer from
09:02the Lord
09:03and you
09:04also need
09:05to obey
09:06to God
09:07for what
09:08the Lord
09:08had spoke
09:09with you,
09:10that is

09:11by faith.
09:13Even
