00:01Praise the Lord.
00:02I bring greetings to you all in the massless name of the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ.
00:08The Bible says that this is the day that the Lord has made.
00:12We will rejoice and be glad in it.
00:16Let's bow down our heads and look to the Lord in prayer.
00:20Almighty God and merciful Heavenly Father,
00:23we thank and we praise you for all the blessings that you have showered on our life.
00:30Through all the past week.
00:32We thank and we praise you for the blessed day and the blessed time that you have given to us
00:37to boldly to come into your presence,
00:40to remind your faithfulness and goodness in all our lives.
00:44Father, as we are preparing our hearts for your divine word,
00:48we pray that you will speak with us and strengthen us.
00:51In Jesus' most holy name we pray. Amen.
00:56This morning, if you have your Bibles with me,
01:01turn with me to the book and the gospel of Matthew chapter 21,
01:07beginning with verses 12 to verse 16.
01:12We want to talk on the topic of the temple of God.
01:16The Bible says in the book of Psalms,
01:20Blessed is the one that who dwells in the house of the Lord.
01:26Because they go from strength to strength
01:29and they will praise God forever and ever in His holy temple.
01:36The Lord has chosen a very special place
01:40that we all might gather as a fellowship
01:43in a place on this earth
01:46and to worship God in spirit and in truth.
01:52We will be studying this morning on the different
01:55kinds of names and the characters of the temple of God.
01:59In the gospel of Matthew chapter 21,
02:03beginning with verse 21,
02:04in this passage, speaking about the Jesus
02:07after the entry into the Jerusalem as a king,
02:14He directly went into the temple of God.
02:22What is the temple of God?
02:24Stands and teaches us valuable lessons.
02:27Number one, the temple of God is a place of purity,
02:33is a house of purity.
02:35Matthew chapter 21 and verse 12,
02:38And Jesus went into the temple of God
02:40and cast out of all them that sold
02:43one bought into the temple
02:45and overthrew the tables of the money,
02:48changers, and the seeds of them that sold douse.
02:51When Jesus entered into the temple of God,
02:55He saw a thing that which He was not well pleased at all.
03:00And the thing was,
03:01there was money changers,
03:03there were sellers,
03:06there were people who sell,
03:08and there were also people who buy.
03:11So this is called to be as a merchant,
03:14or this is called to be as some market
03:17as according to the business,
03:20according to this world.
03:22So Jesus was very angry
03:24and He overthrew all the things.
03:27This proves that this teaches us
03:30that the temple of God is a house of purity.
03:36because this is a place where God dwells,
03:39this is a place where God chosen for His name,
03:43for His purpose.
03:45In Exodus chapter 3,
03:48that when God spoke with Moses through a burning bush,
03:51Moses went to the burning bush,
03:53just as he did not remove his sandals,
03:57he just went just like the way.
04:01But the Lord said,
04:02Moses, the ground that which you stand is on a holy ground.
04:08The Lord dwells in His place.
04:13In this chapter,
04:15that Jesus was in the temple of God,
04:17He saw the worldly things
04:18that was going in the temple of God,
04:21the sinful activities in a holy place.
04:25So that's why He overthrew all the things.
04:28As you're listening this morning message,
04:31dear church, dear people of God,
04:34God is telling us,
04:35keep the temple of God holy and pure
04:38because this is a place where God dwells,
04:41where you and I could experience
04:44God's presence in our lives.
04:48And the second thing is,
04:50the temple of God is a house of prayer.
04:54Jesus said this way,
04:56it is written,
04:58my house shall be called as the house of prayer.
05:03In the first Samuel chapter one,
05:06where Hannah,
05:07when her life was filled with stress,
05:11when she could not have a direct focus on God,
05:14when her life was so desperate,
05:16when she was experiencing the life of bitterness in her life,
05:21she went in the temple of Silo and began to pour out all her requests
05:26in the presence of the Lord.
05:29This morning,
05:31the Lord has given us the temple of God
05:33that we might pray to Him
05:35and have connection with Him.
05:41The temple of God is a house of prayer,
05:46where God speaks with us,
05:49where God guides us,
05:51where God saves us,
05:53or where you and I could
05:55establish our spiritual foundation,
05:59our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
06:05The Lord has given you the beautiful temple
06:07that you and I could gather
06:10and call unto the name of the Lord,
06:13and the Lord will hear
06:15our cry
06:16and deliver us from all our troubles.
06:21The third thing is,
06:22the temple of God is a house of power.
06:26Matthew chapter 21
06:29and verse 14
06:30And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple,
06:33and He healed them.
06:36The third thing is,
06:38the temple of God is a place,
06:40is a house of God's power.
06:43In this chapter,
06:44when Jesus was in the temple,
06:46there were people who had come to Him.
06:48They were blind and the lame.
06:51What did Jesus do?
06:52He had compassion on them,
06:54He touched them,
06:55and He had given them a complete healing.
06:59So this proves,
07:00the temple of God is a house of God's power.
07:06If you and I,
07:08when we are gathered in the temple of God,
07:12that God will heal your spiritual disease
07:15and your physical illness
07:18and your weakness.
07:20May God give you a perfect healing
07:24when you join in the presence of the Lord.
07:27And may you experience
07:29His abundant
07:30and beautiful
07:32mercy of God
07:34in your lives.
07:36The fourth thing is,
07:38the temple of God
07:39is a house of prayer.
07:41Matthew chapter 21
07:43and verse 15.
07:45When the chief priest and the scribe
07:47saw the wonderful things that He did,
07:49and the children saying
07:50in the temple to God,
07:53Hosanna to the son of David.
07:56It is the house of praise.
08:00When Jesus healed the people,
08:03they understood who He is.
08:06They understood the authority of Christ.
08:10They understood the power of God.
08:12And they began to sing and praise God.
08:17This morning, friends,
08:19God has given us a beautiful temple
08:21that we might praise Him
08:23in the beauty of His holiness.
08:26That's the Bible says,
08:27O worship the Lord
08:28in the beauty of His holiness.
08:32We are to gather into the temple of God
08:35to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
08:38Psalm chapter 100, verse 1 and 2.
08:41Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
08:43O holy land.
08:44Serve the Lord with gladness.
08:46Come before His presence with singing.
08:49We are ought to rejoice
08:50in the presence of the Lord.
08:52The reason is,
08:54this is the day that the Lord
08:55has made,
08:57we will rejoice
08:58and be glad in it.
09:00The Lord has blessed us
09:02with this great day
09:03that we might
09:05be glad
09:06and praise Him
09:08from the bottom
09:08of our hearts
09:10and worship Him
09:11for all His goodness
09:13and faithfulness
09:15in all our lives.
09:18the place,
09:20the temple of God
09:22is a place of purity.
09:25The temple of God
09:28is also a place of prayer.
09:31Temple of God
09:32is a place of power.
09:34The temple of God
09:35is a place of praise.
09:37May God lead you
09:38and guide
09:39each one of us
09:41to apply this word
09:43to our hearts
09:44and enter into the
09:46holy presence of the Lord
09:47with a pure mind
09:48and with a pure heart.
09:50Let's pray.
09:52Heavenly gracious Father,
09:54you have given us
09:55a great privilege
09:57to come before your presence
09:59today.
10:01We ask and we praise you
10:03that you taught us
10:05the wonderful deeds
10:07and the wonderful characteristics
10:09of your holy temple.
10:11Lord, we pray
10:13that you will give
10:14your word for us.
10:16Kindly lead us
10:17and guide us.
10:19Help us to apply
10:20your word
10:21what you spoke with us.
10:23And Lord,
10:25bless us with your spirit.
10:27Go before us.
10:30make every crooked path
10:31into a straight way.
10:35Father,
10:36answer all
10:37the needs
10:38of your children.
10:40We ask and pray
10:41in Jesus' name we pray.
