00:01I bring greetings to you all in the massless name of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
00:07It's such a great privilege for all of us to see the beautiful creation of the Lord
00:13and to rejoice in the day and to receive the blessings of God
00:17what the Lord has prepared for us on this beautiful morning.
00:22Let's pray.
00:24Almighty God and merciful Heavenly Father,
00:27the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
00:30the creator of all our lives and the provider and the sustainer of all our lives.
00:37Precious Father, this morning as we bow before your heavenly presence
00:41and to the throne of your grace,
00:44we praise and we thank you.
00:47Lord, we ask you this morning that you will speak to our hearts
00:51and give your word for us and strengthen us.
00:54In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen.
00:58This morning, if you have your Bible with me,
01:02turn with me to the Gospel of John chapter 21,
01:06beginning with verse 15 to verse 17.
01:10In this passage,
01:12we will find about the conversation between
01:16Simon and Jesus Christ.
01:19After when they had a breakfast with Jesus Christ,
01:24Jesus opened up his mouth and began to ask a question to Simon.
01:30Simon, do you love me?
01:33This is the question with Jesus repeatedly asking his disciple Simon.
01:42He asked this question for three a times.
01:45The number three in the Bible is a sign of divine completeness
01:51or divine fulfillness.
01:54Now Jesus is asking to his disciple Simon,
01:57do you love me more than these people?
02:03Do you love me completely?
02:05Do you love me with your whole heartedly?
02:10This morning, dear brothers and sisters,
02:13we are going to talk on the topic of
02:15what it means to love God.
02:19Because Jesus has been asking Simon for three a times,
02:22do you love me?
02:23Do you love me?
02:24And do you love me?
02:25And what it truly means,
02:27loving the Lord Jesus Christ.
02:30The very first thing,
02:32loving Lord Jesus Christ,
02:33which means
02:35to give first place to God
02:37in all our lives.
02:40There are often times we fail to do this.
02:45There are often times we pray to God,
02:48God, I'm going to begin this work
02:50and I need your help to be with me.
02:55And sometimes we even pray,
02:57Lord, I'm going to step out
02:58and I'm going to take my journey
03:01and I want you to be with me
03:03because you had already been promised
03:06that I will protect you wherever you go.
03:09So I need your protection.
03:12What normally we do in our daily life is
03:15we take our decisions
03:17and then we ask God to help us in our decisions.
03:23But that's not the thing,
03:25to love God.
03:28Loving God,
03:29which truly means
03:30to give a first place to God
03:32in everything that whatever we do
03:34in all our lives.
03:36In our family,
03:38in our job,
03:39in our journeys,
03:41in our spiritual life,
03:43in every point or areas of our life,
03:46we need to give first place to God.
03:48We need to give first place to God.
03:50We need to seek the will
03:52and the purpose of the Father
03:54for each of our life
03:55before we begin to do anything every day.
04:02Remember,
04:03there are some times
04:03we even try to love the world.
04:06When we love the world,
04:07the love of God cannot abide with us
04:09and we cannot love God
04:14also in our lives.
04:17The Apostle John said this way,
04:19When you love the world
04:21and the love of God cannot be in you
04:23and you cannot love God too
04:25and God even cannot love you.
04:31Sometimes we even love
04:32and we even give first place to our family,
04:35to our relationship
04:36and sometimes to our job
04:38and sometimes to our journey
04:41but we forget to give the first place to God
04:43in everything what we do.
04:46In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 10
04:48verse 37,
04:50Jesus said this way,
04:52He that loveth his mother and father
04:55more than me
04:56and he is not fit for me.
05:01There are often times we give
05:02and we place
05:03and we give the first place
05:05and we love our family,
05:08we love our relationship
05:09more than God
05:10and we give the first place to them.
05:12When we do that,
05:13we cannot love the Lord perfectly.
05:16You know,
05:17Jesus is asking Simon,
05:18Simon,
05:19do you love me?
05:20Because Simon made a mistake in his life.
05:23He went back to his profession
05:24and his occupation.
05:27He went back to the place
05:29that where Jesus Christ
05:30have called him
05:31and chosen to be
05:32the one of his 12 disciples.
05:35He went back to his occupation.
05:38There are some times
05:40we even say to God,
05:41God, I love you
05:42and we fail to give
05:43the first position to God
05:44and first place to God
05:45in our life
05:46and we move away from God.
05:49That's what the book of Revelation
05:50chapter 2 and verse 7,
05:52the Bible says,
05:52you have lost your first love
05:55and God also says,
05:56I know thy works.
05:57God knows each and every heart
05:59whether we truly love him
06:01or whether we truly give
06:02first place to God
06:04in everything what we do
06:06in our lives.
06:07So loving God,
06:09which means
06:09to give the first place to God.
06:11The second thing,
06:13loving God,
06:13which means
06:15to desire more of him,
06:17to have thirst
06:18about God.
06:20psalm chapter 42
06:22and verse 1.
06:23This is a psalm
06:24written by the sons of Korah
06:26and they said this way,
06:27As the deer panteth
06:29for the water,
06:29so my soul
06:30longeth after you,
06:32panteth after you,
06:32father.
06:34The sons of Korah,
06:35they have a very great privilege
06:37to be in the presence
06:38of the Lord
06:38and to sing for the Lord
06:40and to worship the Lord.
06:42No people of Israel
06:43were being chosen
06:44in such a
06:46cadre.
06:47But now the Bible says,
06:50the sons of Korah
06:51were rejoicing in the Lord.
06:52They were thirsting
06:53that when they could
06:54appear before the presence
06:56of God
06:56and to praise him.
06:59My soul
07:00panteth after you.
07:02This morning,
07:03dear brothers and sisters,
07:05loving God,
07:06which means
07:06to desire
07:07more of him.
07:10There are some times
07:11we don't give first place
07:12to God at all
07:12in our life.
07:13There are some times
07:14we don't desire
07:15for God
07:16just as for namesake
07:17that we come to God.
07:19We pray to God.
07:20We read the Bible.
07:22Knowing that something
07:24will happen
07:24if we don't do that,
07:26we are doing it
07:27just like in ritual
07:28and ordinances.
07:32Psalm chapter 34
07:33and verse 8,
07:34the Bible says,
07:35O taste and see
07:36that the Lord is good
07:37and blessed is the man
07:39that who
07:39trusteth in the Lord.
07:42We are saved.
07:43we receive
07:43the greater gift
07:44of salvation.
07:45We know the love
07:46of Christ
07:47that which has been
07:47showed for us
07:48on the cross
07:49of Calvary.
07:50Knowing that
07:50all the things
07:51we have tasted
07:52the Lord
07:54in our lives.
07:56We must also
07:58to have
07:59greatest desire
08:00for him
08:01that can I
08:02have fellowship
08:03with God.
08:05Psalm chapter 63
08:06and verse 1,
08:07David said,
08:08O Lord,
08:09my God,
08:09my Lord.
08:13early in the morning
08:14I will seek thee.
08:17When King David
08:18wrote this psalm,
08:19he was not in a palace.
08:20He was not in
08:21midst of this family
08:22and love
08:23and neighbors.
08:24But he was in
08:25the wilderness
08:26of Judah
08:27with still
08:28a desire
08:29to have fellowship
08:30with Christ.
08:32How about
08:32our life this morning?
08:34Do we have
08:35a desire
08:35for God?
08:36If we have
08:37truly a desire
08:38for God,
08:39we are truly
08:40loving God.
08:46Because the Bible
08:47is very clear.
08:50Martha has
08:51invited Jesus Christ
08:52into her house.
08:53But Martha
08:54was busy
08:55of things
08:56to prepare
08:56for Christ
08:57for his meal.
08:59But Mary
09:00was at the Lord's
09:01feet because
09:01she loved God
09:02and she loved
09:04to have
09:05fellowship
09:05and relationship
09:06and to have
09:07his word
09:07in her heart.
09:09She was at
09:10the Lord's feet.
09:12When we truly
09:13love God,
09:13we will give
09:14first place
09:14to God.
09:15And when we
09:15truly love God,
09:17we will desire
09:18more of him.
09:19And when we
09:20truly love God,
09:22we will obey
09:23to him.
09:24Now Jesus
09:25called Simon
09:26and said,
09:27Simon,
09:28Simon.
09:28Remember,
09:29Jesus did not
09:30call him
09:30as Peter.
09:31Peter or
09:33Jesus did not
09:34call Simon
09:34as Cephas.
09:36But Jesus
09:37called Simon
09:38as Simon.
09:39This was the
09:40first name
09:41that when
09:42Jesus had
09:43called Simon
09:44to his fellowship
09:45and called him
09:47into the discipleship
09:48and to be the
09:49one of the
09:50twelve disciples
09:50when he was
09:51fishing at the
09:52lake of
09:53Genesaret.
09:56Now in this
09:57passage,
09:58Jesus calls him
09:59by his name.
10:01We need to
10:02know one
10:02thing this
10:03morning that
10:04Jesus had
10:05called him
10:06by his
10:06name.
10:08Which proves
10:09that Jesus
10:10knows all
10:12our names.
10:13He knoweth
10:14all our names.
10:15When God
10:16wanted to
10:16speak with
10:17his people
10:17from the
10:18Old Testament
10:18or in the
10:19New Testament,
10:20he called
10:20them by
10:21their names.
10:23He called
10:23them Abraham.
10:26He called
10:26him as
10:27Jacob.
10:28And also
10:30he called
10:30him as
10:32Hagar.
10:33And also
10:34that we
10:35find he
10:36called him
10:37as Saul.
10:38Saul.
10:39Why the
10:40poor
10:40excuse?
10:41He called
10:42them as
10:43Zacchaeus,
10:43come down.
10:44I must
10:45abide in
10:45your house.
10:47So Jesus
10:48knows each
10:48and every
10:49of our
10:49names because
10:50he is the
10:50creator of
10:51all our
10:52lives.
10:54Now the
10:55Bible says
10:56loving God
10:57which means
10:59to obey
10:59to him.
11:01The moment
11:02when Jesus
11:02spoke with
11:03Simon,
11:04Simon do
11:04you love
11:05me?
11:05And then
11:05later on
11:06Jesus said
11:07if you
11:08truly love
11:08me go
11:08and feed
11:09my sheep.
11:12In all
11:13our life
11:13we need
11:14to obey
11:14to God.
11:15That's the
11:15best thing
11:16what God
11:16wants from
11:17all our
11:18life.
11:21because the
11:22Bible is
11:22very clear
11:24Bible is
11:25very clear
11:26God is
11:27not pleased
11:27with the
11:28sacrifices
11:28or God
11:29is not
11:29pleased with
11:30the ten
11:30thousand
11:30of friends
11:31but God
11:32is pleased
11:32when a
11:32person
11:33or when
11:34a man
11:34obeys
11:35to him.
11:37So obedience
11:37is better
11:38than the
11:39sacrifice.
