00:04I greet you all in the name of the Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
00:08It's such a wonderful morning that the Lord has blessed us with.
00:13Many are being passed away just before us,
00:16but God is so gracious upon us,
00:19giving us one more day to thank and praise Him to dig His scriptures.
00:26Let's pray.
00:27Our loving Heavenly Father,
00:29Father, we thank and we praise you
00:32for this wonderful and beautiful morning
00:35and for the life that you have given to us.
00:38We give all ourselves to you this morning.
00:42A word that proceeded off from your mouth,
00:44it never returns back to you in vain.
00:46Help us to receive your word as how you speak to our hearts.
00:52Open our hearts, open our eyes, and open our ears
00:56that we might listen to your word,
00:58write your word on the tablets of our hearts.
01:05This morning, if you have your Bibles with me,
01:10I want to ask you to turn with me
01:13to the book of Joshua chapter 5.
01:18And I want to ask you to turn with me to verse 9.
01:36Remember, there were many faithful people in the Bible,
01:40the servants of God.
01:42They had great experiences when they have come to different kinds of places.
01:49Just for an example, in Genesis chapter 22,
01:53when Abraham climbed up to the mountain Moriah,
01:57he experienced that God is a Jehoaziah
02:01who is a provider, a God who meets the needs of his people.
02:08And in 1 Kings chapter 18,
02:11the prophet Elijah, upon the mount top of the Carmel,
02:16he experienced that God answers the prayer of his people
02:21and God provides too.
02:23So there were many experiences that the people of God
02:27had in the Bible, in the books,
02:30in the experiences that they had in their ways.
02:34As we come back to the book of Joshua chapter 5,
02:38the people of Israel,
02:40before they conquered the land of Canaan,
02:43before they had a victory over the city of Jericho,
02:48and just right after the moment they crossed the river Jordan,
02:52the very first place they have come is Gilgal.
02:57The word Gilgal in the Bible, which means rolled away.
03:03This morning, we're going to find out some three important things.
03:08What does the name of Gilgal stands for?
03:12And what are the experiences that the people of Israel had
03:16at the place called Gilgal?
03:19Let's turn with me, if you'd be willing,
03:21to the book of Joshua chapter 4 and verse 12.
03:30And now, therefore, take you twelve men
03:33out of the tribes of Israel,
03:35out of every tribe,
03:37and take out the twelve stones,
03:41and then
03:43Joshua
03:44had made it,
03:47had established
03:49at the place called
03:51Gilgal.
03:53So, remember,
03:54that the Lord spoke to Joshua.
03:57Joshua began to speak
03:59to the people of Israel.
04:01Israel, remember,
04:03you have a twelve tribes,
04:05and upon every tribe,
04:08a man from every tribe,
04:09they have to carry up a one stone,
04:11which means the twelve stones from twelve tribes.
04:16And when they have come to the place called Gilgal,
04:20Joshua
04:21established
04:21the twelve stones
04:23right there.
04:25What does it mean?
04:26Why did they do that?
04:28Because Joshua
04:29told the people of Israel,
04:32if your children,
04:34if the future generation
04:35ask you,
04:36why did you do this?
04:37What do the stones represent?
04:39You must have to tell
04:41that what God has done
04:42in your life.
04:45You must have to tell
04:46how God is so great.
04:49You should have to tell
04:50your future generation
04:51the way that God
04:53has made up
04:55the River Jordan
04:56as a dry land
04:57and allow you to pass.
05:00And you must be a witness
05:02to your future generations
05:05what you have experienced
05:07the way you have crossed
05:09the River Jordan.
05:11That is why
05:12they carried up
05:13the twelve stones.
05:14They established
05:15the twelve stones
05:16at the place called
05:17Gilgal
05:18as a remembrance
05:19and memorial.
05:21Number one,
05:22Gilgal is a place
05:23of memorial.
05:26They remembered
05:27of what God
05:27has done in their life.
05:29They remembered
05:30how God miraculously
05:31opened a way
05:33in the River Jordan.
05:37They remembered
05:38how God has been
05:40with them.
05:41They remembered
05:42the mighty arm
05:43of the Lord
05:44and the miracles
05:45and signs,
05:46wonders performed
05:47by the Lord.
05:48every single morning
05:50we must need
05:51to have the
05:53experience
05:54of Gilgal
05:55in our life.
05:56Psalm chapter 103
05:58verse 1 and 2
05:59the Bible says,
06:01O my soul,
06:02do not forget
06:03the things
06:04that what God
06:04has done
06:05in your life.
06:06There are many things
06:07that God has done
06:08in each of our lives
06:09but we should remember
06:11all of it.
06:12Thank and praise God
06:14for all of His grace,
06:16love,
06:16and mercy,
06:18and wonderful things
06:19and His kindness
06:20upon our lives.
06:23So the Gilgal
06:25is a place
06:26of memorial
06:27where the people
06:28of Israel
06:29established
06:30the twelve stones
06:31and remembered
06:32what God has done
06:34in their life.
06:35Number 2,
06:37Gilgal
06:38is a place
06:38of consecration.
06:40Let's turn with me
06:41to the book
06:42of Joshua chapter 5
06:43and verse 2.
06:45At that time
06:46the Lord said
06:47unto Joshua,
06:48Make thee sharp knives
06:50and circumcise
06:52again the children
06:53of Israel
06:54the second time.
06:56The first generation,
06:59they were being circumcised
07:00when they were
07:02in the place
07:03called Ezet.
07:04And the second generation,
07:06now they were traveling
07:0940 years in the wilderness
07:10and God told Joshua
07:12to circumcise
07:14the second generation
07:15that now
07:16who have been traveling
07:17and wandering
07:19in the wilderness
07:20of 40 years.
07:22they have to be
07:24circumcised.
07:25Circumcision,
07:26which means
07:27cutting of their foreskins.
07:29We all need to have
07:31a spiritual
07:33circumcision
07:33of our hearts.
07:35We all need
07:37to tear our hearts.
07:38We all need
07:39to bring our hearts
07:40before the presence
07:41of the Lord
07:41as how it is.
07:42We all need
07:43to pray to the Lord,
07:44Lord,
07:45heal my broken heart,
07:46take away
07:47the sin
07:48of my heart.
07:49give me a pure heart.
07:51We need to have
07:52a circumcision
07:53of our hearts.
07:56We all need
07:57to have
07:57a spiritual
07:59circumcision
07:59in our lives.

08:07of Israel,
08:08they had a circumcision
08:09at a place
08:11called Gilgal.
08:11We even need
08:13to have
08:13an experience
08:15of spiritual
08:16circumcision
08:17in our life.

08:20which means
08:20separation.
08:21We all need
08:22to have
08:23a separated
08:23life.
08:25Separated
08:25from the
08:26unbelievers,
08:27separated
08:27from the
08:28darkness,
08:28separated
08:29for the
08:30among the
08:31worldliest
08:31things,
08:32and to live
08:33a holy
08:34and pure
08:34life,
08:35a life
08:35standard
08:36for the
08:37glory
08:37of Jesus
08:38Christ.
08:39We need
08:39to live
08:40for our
08:41God
08:41with a
08:42consecrated
08:43life.
08:43Because
08:44understand
08:45that we
08:45are not
08:45of the
08:46world,
08:46we are
08:47from above.
08:48So one
08:48day,
08:49the other
08:49day,
08:49we have
08:49to return
08:50back to
08:50God.
