02:00wholly disappointing season and there's a bunch of of directions this could go but one of them is of
02:07course trade deadline stuff and the biggest story in major league baseball is going to be our guy
02:11terek scoobal and whether or not he is dealt um and you know he's not even back from injury yet

02:18need to see him come back and pitch well uh as far as luck is concerned it might be one
02:25of the most
02:26important things for the tigers organization that's happened in years and that is that scoobal comes
02:32back and is healthy so they can move on and kind of start all over right um yeah i guess

02:38having him win that game against seattle would have been more important than but right now
02:43it might be what's the the biggest thing riding on this season because in theory this is a chip you
02:50can cash in and hopefully score big and set yourself up for the future i don't know that the sports

02:55will ever see another herschel walker trade and with a rental pitcher like this i'm not i'm not sure what
03:00the ceiling is for the return um but the the thought is if the uh if the tigers get the
03:09you know get him
03:10back and get him healthy and can move him and pick up some of the salary and get a pretty

03:28possibility of scoobal getting traded and sort of the timeline if and when the tigers decide to do

04:10player you have open dialogue with all of these organizations and say okay this is kind of what

04:19a major league ready player now that's going to play for you now and a prospect package that includes
04:25an incredibly high prospect and and then maybe a you even have sweetened the deal to get even more
04:31with a bullpen arm or something like that but the teams that he mentioned the dodgers have the second
04:37ranked organization in baseball depending on the rankings i took these off mlb.com from the beginning
04:44of the season the blue jays are at 15 the yankees are at 26 the padres are at 30 the
04:50padres gutted their
04:51system last year to get better yeah um so but that doesn't mean that you can't find something we've
04:58talked about the yankees george lombard uh for some time uh who's an infielder i remember that talk
05:05came up in the summer the blue jays have three players in the top 100 and crew including trey
05:10savage a right-handed pitcher's number 12 prospect in baseball he's pitching yeah uh dodgers are loaded
05:16you know the padres still have some guys but you know that i like it because these are common teams
05:25that make go for it moves that i would like to see bidding against one another yeah i understand it
05:33when you look at the dodgers specifically the amount of players they have they have like six players in
05:40the top 100 and four of them are outfielders the problem with the four outfielders is that
05:47the highest level that any of them are at are double a three of those guys are at double a
05:52one guy's at
05:52high a ball um but they're highly thought of players one of them jose josue but depala is
06:00top 10 prospect in law baseball um there's a lot to like with each each one of these these candidates
06:07um but these aren't guys are going to help you right now these are guys that haven't played a
06:12triple a triple a yet are any of them maybe slated to to bump up and go to triple a
06:17this year probably
06:18and maybe maybe they have a chance of making a major league roster next year and have that impact next
06:22year but they'd be rookies and are they as polished as kevin mcgonigal is i mean that's that's the hope

08:10because that's where you get that's how you score big in terms of a trade as you

08:26and and i'm sure in la they'd be like oh hell no
08:29and in which case you might say to the dodgers
08:31okay then oh hell no on scoobal
08:34and go with somebody else but
08:35those young outfielders
08:37that they have
08:39and there's four
08:40four dodger outfielders in the top 100

08:45of major league prospects
08:46it's probably the more likely direction you would end up going
08:50is going after those guys

08:54you know as you mentioned where wherever they are in their organization they're not
08:58it gonzalez sounds like he he feels
09:01like the intel from their side is that they're about to get called up whether it's called up a
09:05level or called up to are they major lead ready seems unlikely but
09:09right but i mean you mentioned paez i mean paez is a huge part of what they're doing right now
09:13yeah leading the team in a lot of categories and and
09:16it feels like that's probably not going to happen for them probably not um but the dodgers have
09:22such a great organization that they they sign players internationally all the time and it's
09:27like they don't doesn't matter okay sure we got five prospects take a couple here and
09:32i've looked at all four of these guys that these guys and the four dodger outfielders and the
09:38minors they have all of them have statistical upside i mean they're all pretty good players the
09:43one that's at the lowest levels at the high a ball uh eduardo cantero is probably the one that
09:48maybe you're least confident about based on what he's done compared to the other three guys that
09:54are all hitting the ball pretty hard you've okay you've done the deep dive here a little bit a little
09:59bit maybe you've done a dive i've i'm in the water the depth is being is still to be determined
10:05what's the story on zaire hope because i remember bringing up his name in the offseason and
10:09thinking he sounded like the type of prospect you'd want to have well he's a guy that is he's
10:14made progress year over year he's hitting a little bit better um this year uh he's got an 810 ops
10:20compared to 804 last year but started off on fire with ops is over 900 to start off his career
10:26but
10:27there's a lot to like with the guy um but he's left-handed did they want the left-handed bat
10:33or
10:33they're going to go for the right-handed bat so maybe that's something that holds them back a little
10:36bit but he's got nine home runs this year already and 36 runs driven in and just 43 games but
10:44he's
10:44also a big strikeout guy he struck out 48 times this year he struck out 143 times last year it
10:49doesn't
10:49sound like somebody the tigers would be interested in maybe not mike serota who is uh another one of
10:56these highly thought of outfielders is a right-handed hitter has uh spent time at high a ball and also
11:05at
11:05uh at double a ball he just got promoted to double a but his ops between the two is over
11:10a thousand
11:11and he's drawn 38 walks in 41 games now he also has 43 strikeouts in those 41 games but the
11:1840 but
11:19the 38 walks yeah it's not a base percentage of 473 last year's on base percentage was 452
11:28this sounds like something more that the tigers would be looking at the guy who has a you know a
11:33command of the strike zone does he swing and miss probably swings and misses a lot is my guess but
11:37there's high upside he's a right-handed bat six foot two gonna fill out a little bit more and he's
11:42only 22 well look i mean we're a long way from getting to the trade deadline so give me two

11:49them give you two of those top give me give me two of their four outfielders and that would be

11:53a good starting point i think so yeah being a great starting point and again if you're the dodgers
11:59you know at some point you probably do want to offset all this salary by bringing up a young
12:03kid um so maybe they would be more inclined to dealing from somebody from their major league
12:09roster as opposed to the minor league roster but either way i think the dodgers would offer you
12:14the the better players because they have more of them i don't think the yankees are looking to get
12:19rid of lombard or anybody else there's another guy in the yankees organization that uh that name's
12:25escaping me right now spencer might be big kid who's he's up at the club now all right two four
