00:59I think if you are in favor of them trading Tarek Skubal,
01:04hearing that Scott Harris isn't going to chase a dream,
01:09that the team really has to justify it,
01:12should make you feel a little better.
01:14I would agree with that.
01:15And I think anybody that's expecting a trade to happen
01:19in the next day or two, I don't think that's wise.
01:23I think this is something that's going to take all the way up
01:25to the trade deadline before they make their decision on,
01:29are they going to do this or are they going to do that?
01:31And the likelihood is that they will sell and not do my plan,
01:36which is buy and sell.
01:37I would sell Skubal and buy other players.
01:39But I think the likelihood of what this is going to be is
01:44that they will end up selling Skubal, selling Torres,
01:50maybe Flaherty if there's a market for that.
01:52I don't think they will sell Mize.
01:54Plus, Casey Mize has been up and down a little bit
01:59like a yo-yo this year with various ailments that keep him out.
02:04Hopefully, he's not out for his next start.
02:05It doesn't sound like he's going to be out for his next start,
02:07but it's another thing that just, if I were another team,
02:10I probably wouldn't be banking on him staying healthy

04:50The names from contending teams that interested us, Logan Henderson from the Milwaukee Brewers was one, and he's a young
04:58arm that's been hurt, but has made his major league debut, former top prospect.
05:04And J.R. Ritchie, who was a number 79 prospect in baseball, who is in his rookie season with the
05:10Braves.
05:11But so Braves and Milwaukee had the two starting pitchers that were most appealing of the list given by Ken
05:18Rosenthal.
05:18Yeah, yeah.
05:19But prospect-wise, it's the Dodgers.
05:21Dude.
05:22It's insane.
05:24Every few days, there's a new list of top prospects in baseball and by organization.
05:30And I saw one that Keith Law had this morning, who were the top 70 prospects in baseball.
05:36And I didn't count the total of Dodger players, but it felt like every other player was a Dodger and
05:42they were all outfielders.
05:43There's like five outfielders in the top 70 prospects in all of baseball that are Dodgers.
05:48Let alone a first baseman and a pitcher.
05:51I think they had at least seven of the top 70.
05:54Yeah.
05:54And Jim Bowden today in The Athletic wrote like 10,000 words on every team in Major League Baseball's interest
06:00in Tarek Skubal.
06:02Like, and it was interesting to get quotes from people around the league.
06:08The story, like when they were setting, when he was setting up the story and one NLA executive saying, I

06:14Another NL executive saying, how could you not trade him?
06:19He's got a list of teams.

06:26I mean, it's whatever's right for you and what you feel.
06:29In the list of playoff contenders, but not likely happening, which included Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Miami, Cleveland, Texas, Seattle, Houston,
06:39Minnesota, St. Louis, Arizona, Baltimore, and Washington.
06:42Boy, that's a lot of teams.
06:43One National League executive said, you're not risking the farm for one player like Skubal unless you're really, really good.
06:52The Padres, this was interesting.
06:55They had their own tier.
06:57Tier six was a league of their own.
06:58And it's because of A.J. Preller, the GM, is just kind of unpredictable.
07:02Because he always does big things.
07:03And the story said, as long as Preller is in, don't count him out.
07:07The Padres are a long shot for Skubal, but scouts and executives believe Preller would love to somehow snatch him.
07:14Regarding the Brewers, the Brewers, the Brewers have the pieces to pull off a deal for Skubal.
07:21I do wonder whether this is a little bit different.
07:24One NL executive said about them going against their history and making a move like this.
07:29Well, their history shows they've done it with CeCe Sabathia.

07:34Recent history, I guess.
07:35The story says their recent history does not indicate they would part with the necessary prospects for Skubal.
07:40Would they if the Tigers were to pick up part of the $11 million?

07:44Tier three is the teams that he fits on paper.

07:49Of Philly, an NL executive said, I don't put anything past Dombrowski.

07:54I don't know if he has the chips, but I don't put it past him, especially with the age that

08:00With 2027's uncertainty looming, at some point we know that group is going to age out.
08:04Though it hasn't happened yet, to their credit.

08:11Of the Tampa Rays, who are in tier two of the most likely team as everyone's favorite dark horse.

08:39The reason a Dodger is even more of a potential threat here is because they decided to shut down Shoei
08:44Otani as a pitcher for a while.
