00:00Uh, apparently Curtis, Troy Aikman has taken to Dallas radio and confirmed that he and Joe
00:11Buck got into some kind of a, a verbal kerfuffle, uh, prior to a Monday night football and the
00:19broadcast beginning this past week.
00:21And this was over Joe Buck signing his contract apparently, right?
00:25So they were a package deal.
00:27They were plucked from Fox brought to Monday night football at Disney and, uh, Joe Buck
00:32agreed to a new $108 million deal, uh, without Troy Aikman.
00:37Ooh, dirt dog behavior right here.
00:39I like this.
00:39Let's go.
00:40Is that how you feel about it?
00:41That's douche move, but go ahead.
00:42And so he was on the ticket in Dallas Fort Worth and he was asked about the, so there was
00:47a,
00:48uh, a reported argument between Buck and Aikman prior to Monday night's broadcast.
00:54Aikman was asked about it and quote, this is what he said.
00:57There's probably a time and place for all of that.
01:00I don't know if now is that time.
01:02I don't know if it's hard to figure out kind of what happened.
01:06I'll broadcast through this season and I will be a free agent at the end of the year and
01:11kind of see what happens.
01:13I'm looking forward to whatever the rest of the season does hold and the Superbowl and
01:17all of that and where my next landing spot may be.
01:21Good for him.
01:22That's a douche move by Joey Buck.
01:25Yeah.
01:26Well, what was Troy Aikman?
01:27Do you have any idea what Troy Aikman was asking for?
01:30I don't know.
01:30But I'm figuring if they're a package deal to Curtis's point, they must be like, all
01:35right, here's what we're going to get.
01:38And unless one of them's going, oh, I want more than the other guy because, you know,
01:47but if you're just getting left out of the deal, and I also think Joe Buck, because it
01:53seemed like they had a very good working relationship, grass is not always greener.
01:58Like, I think doing a job where you have to talk all the time, if you don't actually like
02:01those people, that job sucks.
02:03And it seemed like they had a good relationship.
02:05Now, Curtis, you would know better because this is kind of your field.
02:08Yep.
02:09Who would?
02:10What do you mean that Curtis is kind of like, I love the media stuff.
02:12He loves the media stuff.
02:14He's inside media.
02:14Yeah, he loves like this.
02:15Curtis, take us inside the microphone.
02:17Yeah, take us behind the microphone.
02:20Curtis, take us inside the headset.
02:21Who do you feel like?
02:23Now, take us inside the headset.
02:25Is more valuable.
02:26When you look at Troy Aikman.
02:28Huh?
02:29Who do you would say is more valuable?
02:32I would say Buck is more valuable.
02:34Okay.
02:35Because, by the way, not to bother you, Greg, he's three years younger than you.
02:40He's 57.
02:42Really?
02:42I thought Joe Buck, I mean, he's been doing this forever.
02:44You thought he was older than me.
02:46Yes.
02:47Yeah.
02:47But not many people are older than me at this point, unfortunately.
02:52I think Troy is great.
02:54I just think Joe Buck is the best.
02:56He is the preeminent voice of a generation.
02:58Okay.
02:58He is the modern day Al Michaels.
03:00I think he, but I do, I believe that Buck and Aikman are the gold standard of all broadcasts.
03:06And the only reason I ask that, do you think that they were like, oh, Troy, we're only going to
03:10give you 90 million?
03:12And that hurt his feelings because he was, if they wanted him to take less than what Joe Buck was
03:18getting.
03:18I don't know what the color guy makes.
03:20I know Brady makes 37 and Aikman.
03:22I mean, Romo made like 18.
03:24I don't know where Troy Aikman falls.
03:26But it would be more, what does Tom Brady make and compare him to, you know, who would you say,
03:33Jim Nance or somebody who's, because he got the color guy and he got the play-by-play guy.
03:37Like, do they make the same?
03:39No, that's what I'm saying is I don't, I think Brady makes far more than any play-by-play guy.
03:43Okay.
03:43So my guess is Aikman was asking for more.
03:46Yeah.
03:46Because he's seeing what Romo and Brady get.
03:49And Aikman is excellent.
03:51Like.
03:5218 million a year Aikman was making.
03:54Yeah.
03:54So he was asking for more than Buck, I think.
03:56Yeah.
03:56But I don't know.
03:57But the Buck Aikman Super Bowl 51 broadcast is the single greatest broadcast in American history.
04:04The way that they handled that comeback, they were, they knew.
04:07The two points, they knew the clock.
04:08They were questioning Dan Quinn.
04:10They were on top of it in real time in a way that was spectacular.
04:14And if they break this up, ESPN will rue the day because they were going through booth after booth after
04:19booth for their Monday night broadcast.
04:20And they have hit record ratings and found these two who have at least 10 more years together.
04:26And to just do that over a couple million bucks.
04:29And Joe Buck, to agree that far in advance, I agree with Wiggy.
04:32Douche move.
04:33Yeah.
04:3418 million is the new contract.
04:36So, yeah, you might be right.
04:37Maybe Troy was like, nah.
04:38I mean, if it got physical, we're taking Troy Aikman.
04:41Oh, my God.
04:42I would think so.
04:43I mean, yeah, I don't know.
04:44I don't know.
04:44Sometimes you get old man strength, Curtis, at play.
04:47But you never know.
04:48Joe Buck might have been like a savage growing up and got into a ton of fights.
04:51A lot of football players have never really fought because they're always bigger than everybody else.
04:56But some of these other guys that have to defend themselves all the time, they know how to fight way
05:01more than, you know, somebody.
05:02So, I always.
05:02So, I always.
05:02So, I always.
