00:50And for him to say it definitively like that makes me think that he knows that this is turned into
00:57a full-scale sell-off, fire sale.

01:06And in theory, you set your organization up for a long time. In theory, if you do it right, there's
01:13plenty of examples of it being done wrong.
01:16And the Tigers purge, when they moved a lot of great players in the mid-teens there, they didn't do,
01:28it was a poorly executed purge.

01:41she tweeted out late yesterday, Drew Smith, J.D. Martinez, Justin Wilson, Alex Avila, Justin Upton, Justin Verlander.
01:48Of those 11 players, Jake Rogers leaves the organization as the final name off the list.
01:54So all they got back, they acquired 11 players through the trades of Drew Smith, J.D. Martinez, Justin Wilson,
02:01Alex Avila, Justin Upton, Justin Verlander.
02:03Jake Rogers is the only one that was still around, and he's gone. Really, nobody else was worth it.
02:10And Jamer Candelario was a good player, but really, when you do a purge like this, and what the Tigers
02:17are expected to do,
02:18you can set yourself up, but, you know, the bottom line is, it's not easy to do.
02:29You can get it wrong. Plenty of people do get it wrong.

02:36Back in 2016, Aroldis Chapman, Yankees traded him at the deadline to the Cubs for a prospect named Glaber Torres,
02:42then re-signed Chapman that winter, and had both the following season.
02:46There are examples. The Tigers did it with Flaherty.
02:49What I was pointing out to the previous caller, he doesn't want to trade him.
02:53He wants to build around him, and he wants to offer him $450 million over 10 years,
02:58and said how they could afford it, and I made the point that they could do that and trade him.
03:06If you think he's actually going to re-sign, and you're going to give him that kind of contract.
03:10I wouldn't give him that kind of contract, and I don't think he's going to re-sign here,
03:13but his plan isn't, he could execute his plan.
03:17The caller Rambo could execute his plan and still trade him.
03:21But anyway, Jim Bowden tweeting that Scooble, Mize, Glaber, and Jansen all are going to get traded by Monday.

04:26You've got to see what you can get from the Dodgers, go back to the Brewers, see if they'll sweeten

04:35You've got a chance to really, really set your organization up.

05:19I haven't heard anything that Mike Sirota is untouchable.
05:24He's their number two prospect.
05:26He's an outfielder with good speed.
05:28And he fits the profile that Scott Harris is looking for.
05:32Gator was tracking this on a day-in, day-out basis.
05:36Sirota, he just had a 72-game on-base streak snapped.
05:42He'd been on base in 72 consecutive games.
05:45And that is important, that is a point of emphasis for our guy Scott Harris.
05:50I would have to think that Sirota would be a very much coveted player by this organization
05:55in a trade with the Dodgers.
05:57Oh my God, for sure.
05:59And I'm with you, I don't really want to break, I don't want to get Cam and Eddie.
06:03I just, I worry about those pitching prospects that are still in double A.
06:08He might be really good, but if we're going to get any pitching,
06:11I would rather, I would target some middle relief guys or some high strikeout guys.
06:17I just, I'm leery of getting prospects pitching back.
06:21But man, go after all the top prospects you can get and get them all.
06:26He's in single, Bob.
06:28He's in single A.
06:29Like Cam, Cam and Eddie, they think he's got a world of potential.
06:33And Atlanta is a player here, and they have something nobody else has.
06:38That's the highest rated pitching prospect of any team that's in the mix here,
06:42is Cam, Cam and Eddie.
06:43But he's in single A.
06:44That's so far away that I'm cool with passing on that.

07:21but he stole 100 bases last year.
07:24Then he's at double A right now, but he hasn't played the whole full season.
07:27He's like a 13 pick.
07:29He got hurt by the golden retriever retrieving.

08:18went on.
08:19He was kind of putting together actual trades and who the Tigers would get back.
08:24Which, face it, I mean, we can debate, you know, who should be traded and who shouldn't
08:28or, you know, positions you want back.
08:31It's what's really hard to project is who you would get back, what players you would
08:35get back.
08:36And the thing about, like the difference between the NFL draft and this is so many of
08:41you guys out there watch college football.
08:43It's not like people are in mass watching minor league baseball.
08:48So we're going a little bit off lists, right?
08:50And highlights and all that.
08:52It's hard to get a sense for how good a player is without watching him play for like 20 games.
08:56And that's what your scouts do.
08:59But yeah, Marossi came up with some deals and what he told our morning show, you will
09:04hear it coming up today at 1131 here on Carson Anderson on 97.1.
