00:00By the way, we brought up that somebody complained about James Outman last hour,
00:04and we brought up that Javi Baez could be available today, tomorrow, this week.
00:09And it appears like he's going to be called up today, as A.J. Hinch told MLB Radio
00:13that they expect to have him today.
00:17So that might be the end for Outman, who just continues to strike out
00:24at an alarmingly large rate.
00:26Now, maybe it shouldn't be alarming.
00:28The player was available for a reason.
00:30It's been a problem, and he was an emergency break last center fielder.
00:35All right, so I've been talking about a couple days,
00:40the Detroit Tigers leveraging the Dodgers and Brewers against one another.
00:47You got the Dodgers that apparently want to win,
00:50be the first National League team to win three straight World Series.
00:52You got the Brewers, who are sick of being one and done in the postseason.
00:56They've been seven of the last eight postseasons,
00:58haven't made it to the World Series.
01:02And both teams are loaded.
01:04Both teams, there are two best teams in the National League.
01:07Both teams don't want to face Scooble.
01:09And if you're the Brewers, you're staring down the reality,
01:12if not, that's not reality strong.
01:14You're staring down the possibility that you might have to face Scooble
01:17the next few years.
01:19But if you trade for him this year,
01:22not only do you not face him this year,
01:26when you play in the Dodgers in the postseason,
01:28you pair him with Mizorowski,
01:30and you go against the Dodgers with those two in the rotation.
01:33Could you imagine a seven-game series where you get to throw those two four times
01:38if they meet in the NLCS?
01:42So the Dodgers, I've talked about this for a couple of days.
01:45Go get one of their top outfield prospects in Tulsa.
01:48And they've got a bunch that are all in baseball's top 100.
01:53And I've talked about James Tibbs,
01:55the 23-year-old at AAA Oklahoma City
02:01who has hit .285 with a .408 on base, a .946 OPS.
02:06He's got 21 home runs and .351 at-bats.
02:09He has 71 walks.
02:11Now, he does have 102 strikeouts.
02:13But he's got some position flexibility.
02:15He's played half his games at first base,
02:17half his games at right field.
02:19He's down there in AAA.
02:22Dodgers got Freddie Freeman.
02:24They got outfielders coming out of their ears.
02:28He's kind of blocked.
02:30Freeman's got under contract next year.
02:32So they might be envisioning a world where James Tibbs
02:36is their next first baseman after Freeman's contract's up.
02:40But they can get Scoobal.
02:42And you're not going to get Scoobal without some pain.
02:46So an XS, AA, top 100 prospect outfielder,
02:51coupled with James Tibbs.
02:53Tibbs would probably come to Detroit and play right away
02:55and provide competition at first base and right field.
03:00Right on my introducing competition.
03:03Then there's the Brewers.
03:05They got the number one prospect in Jesus Made.
03:08And everyone says he's untouchable.
03:11But I would hold the Dodger trade possibility over their head
03:14to see if he becomes touchable.
03:15Because you're a Brewer team that has a strong case.
03:19They really could win the NL.
03:21They won't be the favorite, but they really could.
03:23They might become the favorite with Scoobal.
03:27And you'd be trading a player that you simply aren't using right now.
03:33Everybody says he's untouchable.
03:35Okay, let's go ahead and say he is.
03:36We now have two different media reports.
03:39ESPN came out with a story.
03:41Blockbuster trades we'd like to see.
03:43And I like these because I think they do it for both teams.
03:47This isn't, you know, tigerfan.org or brewerjunkie.com
03:54putting together trade proposals.
03:55This is a national publication that is trying to see it
03:59through both teams' sides.
04:02And I'm trying to see who put this together.
04:05It looks, Jeff Passon put this together.
04:08The Tigers trade Scoobal to the Brewers
04:12for right-hand pitcher Logan Henderson.
04:16Second-base prospect Adam Szczewski.
04:19I'm sorry, Josh Adam Szczewski.
04:22And infielder Rick Mooney's for Scoobal.
04:26Now, what would that return be?
04:28That return would be a guy that would come in
04:30and be a pitcher for you, hopefully for years,
04:33and a young right-hander in Logan Henderson.
04:35Logan Henderson was a borderline top 100 prospect guy
04:39who's made his debut and is pitching very, very well for them.
04:43He is a pretty darn good prospect.
04:47And last week, the Athletic put together reasonable returns
04:52in terms of Major League Ready Arms.
04:54Logan Henderson was one of them from the Brewers.
04:58And Logan Henderson has been hurt.
05:02He had a back strain.
05:05He had a 178 ERA with a .96 whip.
05:09This year, he's got a 297 ERA with a .93 whip.
05:12Those stats might be old, but he's a good young pitcher.
05:18And it's two different publications now that think Logan Henderson would come back.
05:23When you start getting into the Brewers' prospects,
05:26I like don't love what they put together from a Brewers' perspective
05:34because, you know, Adam Zewski is a second baseman.
05:38They've got a bunch of second basemen, but I guess, you know, they can be repurposed.
05:42And he is a top 100 prospect, which means he's expected to be a pretty damn good player.
05:48He's number 89.
05:50The other player, Rick Monies, or Mooneys, is a shortstop,
05:56and he's like their number 19 prospect.
05:59I'll tell you what I would ask them.
06:01I would say to them, we'll do this deal.
06:04Henderson, Adam Zewski, but not Rick Monies.
06:08I don't want your number 19 prospect.
06:10I want your number 16 prospect.
06:11I want Luke Adams.
06:13Luke Adams is a AAA Nashville.
06:18A guy that you could call up right away.
06:21He's from Hinsdale, Illinois.
06:23He was a Michigan State commit.
06:25Signed with the Brewers instead.
06:27He was not considered a great, great prospect.
06:29He's number 19 in their system after all.
06:31I'm sorry, number 16 in their system after all.
06:34But he is raking in Nashville.
06:37Raking.
06:39Six-foot-four-inch right-hander who plays first base and third base.
06:45And I think he would probably get the call-up.
06:48So if you were to make a trade with the Brewers,
06:52and I've got to get his Nashville stats so people know how good he's doing,
06:55but if you were to make a trade with the Brewers,
06:57you would get two players that might come straight to Detroit.
07:03One is a good young pitcher that would plug into your rotation,
07:09maybe help you win now.
07:11The other is a corner infielder that is absolutely killing it,
07:17has the profile of maybe a late bloomer,
07:21a bit of a player that's surprised a little bit,
07:24that still isn't that high on their prospect list,
07:26and could debut in Detroit right away.
07:31This year he's hitting .278 with a .419 on-base percentage.
07:38In 176 at-bats, he has 15 home runs.
07:41He can steal a base or two.
07:43He's got eight steals.
07:44He's stolen double digits in his career.
07:45He's got a 1,016 OPS.
07:51I think the Milwaukee trade is the one that I would go for.
07:55Do I think Milwaukee would do it?
07:57Would Milwaukee give up Logan Henderson,
07:59a top 100 infield prospect,
08:01but the last one they've got, number 89,
08:04and their number 16 overall prospect for Scooble?
08:07Because if they do that, I would do it.
08:10I would absolutely do it.
08:12And the thing about Henderson is,
08:14he might plug into your starting rotation.
08:16Somebody else gets repurposed out of the bullpen.
08:19Maybe Cater Montero.
08:21You got Job and Montero to your bullpen for the rest of this year.
08:26Henderson pitches out the rest of this year,
08:28because I think he's back and healthy.
08:30And you take this kid from AAA, Luke Adams.
08:35You call him up to the big club.
08:37He can play first or third.
08:40I like it.
08:41How can you leverage the Dodgers
08:44and the Brewers to get what you want?
08:46I don't know if there's a Brewer fan out there.
