00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and
00:24right, he will preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:40Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:48The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will
00:57not reject.
01:02Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and
01:09confess our many sins and wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God our Heavenly Father, but
01:19confess them with a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart, to the end that we may obtain
01:28forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly
01:42when we assemble and meet together, to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his
01:48hands, to give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word and to ask those things which
01:56are truly necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:03Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart
02:09and humble voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together, Almighty and most
02:17merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much, the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things
02:38which we ought not to have done, and so there is no health in us.
02:45But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ
03:01Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous
03:10and sober life, to the glory of your holy name.
03:14Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they
03:25may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind, through Jesus Christ
03:31our Lord.
03:33Amen.
03:36Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:50Give us this day our daily bread.
03:53Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever.
04:11Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
04:41is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.

07:59As it was, in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
08:05World without end. Amen.
08:11Psalm 137
08:15By the rivers of Babylon we sit down and weep, when we remember Zion.
08:22On the poplars in her midst we hang our harps.
08:26For there our captors ask us to compose songs.
08:30Those who mock us demand that we be happy, saying,
08:34Sing for us a song about Zion.
08:38How can we sing a song to the Lord in a foreign land?
08:43If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand be crippled.
08:48May my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you.
08:52And do not give Jerusalem priority over whatever gives me the most joy.
08:59Remember, O Lord, what the Edomites did on the day Jerusalem fell.
09:04They said, Tear it down, tear it down, right to its very foundation.
09:11O daughter Babylon, soon to be devastated!
09:15How blessed will be the one who repays you for what you dished out to us!
09:21How blessed will be the one who grabs your babies and smashes them on a rock!
09:28Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit!
09:33As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be!
09:37World without end!
09:39Amen!
09:44Psalm 138
09:47I will give you thanks with all my heart. Before the heavenly assembly I will sing praises to you.
09:54I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your name,
10:00because of your loyal love and faithfulness, because you have exalted your promise above the entire sky.
10:08When I cried out for help, you answered me, you made me bold and energised me.
10:14Let all the kings of the earth give thanks to you, O Lord, when they hear the words you speak.
10:21Let them sing about the Lord's deeds, for the Lord's splendour is magnificent.
10:28Though the Lord is exalted, he looks after the lowly and humbles the proud from far away.
10:36Even when I must walk in the midst of danger, you revive me.
10:40You oppose my angry enemies, and your right hand delivers me.
10:47The Lord avenges me! O Lord, your loyal love endures!
10:53Do not abandon those whom you have made!
10:57Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit!
11:01As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
11:06World without end. Amen.
11:16The second book of Kings, chapter 6.
11:21Now the sons of the prophets said to Elijah,
11:35He said,
11:51He said to them,
11:54Let the Lord on board, let the head of his axe go into the water.
11:57And he cried out, saying,
11:59This is a bad business, my master, for it is another's.
12:03The man of God said, Where did it go in?
12:07When he saw the place where it had gone into the water.
12:11Cutting a stick, he put it in the water, and the iron came up to the surface of the water.
12:17Then he said, Take it up.
12:20And so he put out his hand and took it.
12:24At that time, the king of Aram was making war against Israel.
12:28And he had a meeting with the chiefs of his army saying,
12:31I will be waiting in secret in some named place.
12:36The man of God sent to the king of Israel saying,
12:39Take care to keep away from that place.
12:42For the Arameans are waiting there in secret.
12:46So the king of Israel sent to the place where the man of God had said there was danger.
12:51And kept clear of it more than once.
12:55At this, the mind of the king of Aram was greatly troubled.
12:59And he sent for his servants saying to them,
13:02Will you not make clear to me which one of us is helping the king of Israel?
13:08One of them said,
13:10It's not one of us, my lord the king.
13:11But Elisha the prophet in Israel is giving the king news of the words you say even in your bedroom.
13:21Then he said,
13:23Go, find out where he is, that I might send and get him.
13:28News came down to him that he was in Dothan.
13:32So he sent their horses and carriages and a great army.
13:35And they came by night encircling the town.
13:40Now the servants of the man of God, having got up early and gone out,
13:44saw an army with horses and carriages of war all around the town.
13:49So the servant said to him,
13:51My master, what are we to do?
13:54He said in answer,
13:56Have no fear.
13:57Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.
14:02Then Elisha made a prayer to the Lord saying,
14:04Lord, let his eyes be open that he might see.
14:09And the Lord made the young man's eyes open.
14:12He saw that all the mountain was full of horses and carriages of fire around Elisha.
14:19Now when the Arameans came down to Elisha,
14:22he made a prayer to the Lord saying,
14:24Make this people blind.
14:27And he made them blind at Elisha's request.
14:31Elisha said to them,
14:33This is not the way and this is not the town.
14:35Follow me as I may take you to the man you are searching for.
14:39And so he led them to Samaria.
14:42And when they had come into the center of Samaria,
14:45Elisha said, Lord,
14:47Let the eyes of these men be open that they may see.
14:52The Lord made their eyes open
14:53and they saw that they were in the middle of Samaria.
14:58The king of Israel, when he saw them, said to Elisha,
15:00My father, should I put them to the sword?
15:04But he said,
15:05No, you are not to put them to death.
15:08Have you any right to put to death those you have not taken prisoner with your sword and your bow?
15:14Indeed, put out bread and water before them,
15:17that they may have food and drink before they return to their master.
15:22So he made ready a great feast for them.
15:25And when they had had food and drink,
15:27he sent them away and they went back to their master.
15:31No more bands of Arameans came into the land of Israel.
15:37Now after this, Ben Hadad, king of Aram,
15:40got together all his army and went up to make an attack on Samaria,
15:44shutting the town in on all sides with his bosses.
15:49This is the words of the Lord.
15:52Thanks be to God.
16:10Mary said,
16:11My soul exalts the Lord,
16:14and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
16:18because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
16:24For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
16:28because he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
16:35From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
16:41He has demonstrated power with his arm.
16:45He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
16:51He has brought down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up those of lowly position.
16:57He has filled the hungry with good things and has sent the rich away empty.
17:04He has helped his servant Israel,
17:07remembering his mercy as he promised to our ancestors,
17:12to Abraham and to his descendants for ever.
17:17Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
17:22as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
17:25world without end. Amen.
17:36The epistle to the Hebrews chapters 3 and 4
17:42My brothers, take care that there is not by chance in any one of you
17:46an evil heart without belief, turning away from the living God.
17:53But give comfort to one another every day, as long as it is still today,
17:59so that no one among you may be made hard by the deceit of sin.
18:03For if we keep the substance of the faith which we had at the beginning,
18:07even until the end we will have a part in Christ.
18:12As it is said, today if you will let his voice come to your ears,
18:17be not hard of heart as when you made him angry.
18:21Who made him angry when his voice came to them?
18:24Was it not all those who came out of Egypt with Moses?
18:28With whom was he angry for forty years?
18:31Was it not with those who did evil, who came to their deaths in the wasteland?
18:37To whom did he make an oath that they might not come into his rest?
18:42Was it not to those who went against his orders?
18:45So we see that they were not able to go in, because they had no belief.
18:51Let us then, though we still have God's word that we may come into his rest,
18:57go in fear that some of you may be unable to do so.
19:01Truly the good news came to us, even as it did to them.
19:06But the hearing of the word did them no good,
19:09because they were not united in faith with the true hearers.
19:13For those of us who have belief come into his rest,
19:17even as he has said, as I said in my oath when I was angry,
19:21they may not come into my rest.
19:24Though the works were done from the time of the making of the world.
19:29For in one place he has said of the seventh day,
19:32and God had rest from all his works on the seventh day.
19:37In the same place again, he says, they will not come into my rest.
19:42So that as it is clear that some have to go in and some,
19:48the first hearers of the good news were not able to go in,
19:52because they went against God's orders.
19:55After a long time.
19:58Again, naming a certain day, he says in David,
20:01Today, as he said before,
20:03Today, if you will let his voice come to your ears, be not hard of heart.
20:08For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have said anything about another day.
20:14So that there is still a Sabbath keeping for the people of God.
20:18For the man who comes into his rest has rest from his works, as God did from his.
20:25Because of this, let us have a strong desire to come into that rest.
20:29And let no one go out after the example of those who went against God's orders.
20:36For the word of God is living and full of power, and is sharper than any two-edged sword,
20:42cutting through and making a division, even of the soul and the spirit,
20:46the bones and the muscles and quick to see the thoughts and purposes of the heart.
20:53There is nothing made which is not completely dear to him.
20:57There is nothing covered, but all things are open to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
21:05This is the word of the Lord.
21:08Thanks be to God.
21:24Now according to your word, Sovereign Lord,
21:27Permit your servant to depart in peace.
21:30For my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples.
21:38A light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.
21:46Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
21:51as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
21:57Amen.
22:02I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our
22:10Lord,
22:11who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered unto Pontius Pilate.
22:19He was crucified, dead, and buried.
22:23He descended into hell.
22:25On the third day he rose again from the dead.
22:29He ascended into heaven, and is sitting at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
22:36From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
22:41I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
22:48the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
22:54Amen.
22:59The Lord be with you, and with your spirit.
23:06Let us pray.
23:10Lord, have mercy upon us.
23:13Christ, have mercy upon us.
23:18Lord, have mercy upon us.
23:24Our Father, who is in heaven, holy is your name.
23:30May your kingdom come.
23:32May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
23:37Give us this day our daily bread.
23:40Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
23:46Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
23:52For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
23:59Amen.
24:04O Lord, show your mercy upon us, and grant us your salvation.
24:13Protect and guide those in authority over us, and mercifully hear us when we call upon you.
24:23Endue your ministers with righteousness, and make your chosen people joyful.
24:32O Lord, save your people, and bless your inheritance.
24:40Give peace in our time, O Lord, because there is none other who fights for us but only you, O
24:48God.
24:50O God, make clean our hearts within us, and take not your Holy Spirit from us.
25:06Let us pray.
25:09O God, who has at this time taught the hearts of your faithful people, by sending to them the light
25:16of your Holy Spirit.
25:18Grant us, by the same Spirit, to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His
25:27Holy Comfort.
25:29Through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the same
25:38Spirit, one God, world without end.
25:42Amen.
25:50O God, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works proceed.
25:58Give to your servants that peace which the world cannot give, that our hearts may be set to obey your
26:06commandments,
26:07and also that, by you, we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our time in rest
26:16and quietness.
26:17Through the merits of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
26:22Amen.
26:27Lighten our darkness, we beseech you, O Lord, and by your great mercy defend us all from perils and dangers
26:35of this night.
26:37For the love of your only Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
26:41Amen.
26:45Almighty God, who has given us grace at this time with one accord, to make our common supplications to you,
26:54and promises that when two or three are gathered together in your name, you will grant their requests.
27:02Fulfill now, O Lord, the desires and petitions of your servants, as may be most beneficial for them,
27:11granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the world to come, life everlasting.
27:20Amen.
27:23May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
27:29be with us all evermore.
27:32Amen.
