00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:51The Lord's name be praised.
04:57Psalm 142
05:00To the Lord I cry out, to the Lord I plead for mercy.
05:05I pour out my lament before him, I tell him about my troubles.
05:10Even when my strength leaves me, you watch my footsteps.
05:14In the path where I walk, they have hidden a trap for me.
05:20Look to the right and see.
05:23No one cares about me, I have nowhere to run.
05:27No one is concerned about my life.
05:30I cry out to you, O Lord, I say.
05:33You are my shelter, my security in the land of the living.
05:39Listen to my cry for help, for I am in serious trouble.
05:43Rescue me from those who chase me, for they are stronger than I am.
05:49Free me from prison, that I may give thanks to your name.
05:54Because of me the godly will assemble, for you will vindicate me.
05:59Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
06:03As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.
06:10Amen.
06:16Psalm 143
06:19O Lord, hear my prayer.
06:22Pay attention to my plea for help.
06:25Because of your faithfulness and justice, answer me.
06:29Do not sit in judgment on your servant, for no one alive is innocent before you.
06:37Certainly my enemies chase me.
06:40They smash me into the ground.
06:41They force me to live in dark regions, like those who have been dead for ages.
06:48My strength leaves me.
06:50I am absolutely shocked.
06:54I recall the old days.
06:57I meditate on all you have done.
07:00I reflect on your accomplishments.
07:04I spread out my hands to you in prayer.
07:07My soul thirsts for you in a parched land.
07:11Answer me quickly, O Lord.
07:14My strength is fading.
07:16Do not reject me, or I will join those descending into the grave.
07:22May I hear about your loyal love in the morning, for I trust in you.
07:27Show me the way I should go, because I long for you.
07:33Rescue me from my enemies, O Lord.
07:36I run to you for protection.
07:40Teach me to do what pleases you, for you are my God.
07:44May your kind presence lead me into a level land.
07:50O Lord, for the sake of your reputation, revive me.
07:55Because of your justice, rescue me from trouble.
07:59As a demonstration of your loyal love, destroy my enemies.
08:05Annihilate all who threaten my life, for I am your servant.
08:10Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
08:15As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
08:19World without end.
08:21Amen.
08:37Next, I saw Joshua, the high priest, standing before the angel of the Lord,
08:42with Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
08:47The Lord said to Satan,
08:49May the Lord rebuke you, Satan.
08:52May the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you.
08:57Isn't this man like a burning stick snatched from the fire?
09:04Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes, as he stood there before the angel.
09:10The angel spoke up to those standing all around,
09:13Remove his filthy clothes.
09:16Then he said to Joshua,
09:19I have freely forgiven your iniquity, and will dress you in fine clothing.
09:24Then I spoke up,
09:26Let a clean turban be put on his head.
09:30And so they put a clean turban on his head,
09:33and clothed him,
09:34while the angel of the Lord stood nearby.
09:39Then the angel of the Lord exhorted Joshua solemnly,
09:44The Lord who rules over all says,
09:47If you live and work according to my requirements,
09:51you will be able to preside over my temple,
09:54and attend to my courtyards.
09:58I will allow you to come and go among these others who are standing by you.
10:04Listen now, Joshua, the high priest,
10:07both you and your colleagues who are sitting before you,
10:10all of you,
10:11are a symbol that I am about to introduce my servant,
10:16the branch.
10:17As for the stone I have set before Joshua,
10:21on the one stone there are seven eyes.
10:24I am about to engrave an inscription upon it,
10:27says the Lord,
10:28who rules over all,
10:31to the effect that I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day,
10:36says the Lord who rules over all.
10:39Everyone will invite his fellowship under his vine and under his fig tree.
10:48This is the word of the Lord.
10:51Thanks be to God.
11:07Mary said,
11:21For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
11:26because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
11:30and holy is his name.
11:32From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
11:39He has demonstrated power with his arm.
11:42He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
11:49He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
11:52and has lifted up those of lowly position.
11:55He has filled the hungry with good things,
11:58and has sent the rich away empty.
12:01He has helped his servant Israel,
12:04remembering his mercy,
12:06as he promised to our ancestors,
12:09to Abraham,
12:11and to his descendants for ever.
12:14Glory be to the Father,
12:16and to the Son,
12:17and to the Holy Spirit,
12:18as it was in the beginning,
12:21is now,
12:22and ever shall be,
12:24world without end.
12:26Amen.
12:35The Acts of the Apostles,
12:37Chapter 4
12:39On the next day their rulers,
12:42elders and experts in the law came together,
12:44in Jerusalem.
12:46Annas, the high priest, was there,
12:48and Caiaphas, John,
12:50Alexander and the others,
12:51who were members of the high priest's family.
12:56After making Peter and John stand in their midst,
12:59they began to inquire,
13:01By what power, or by what name,
13:03did you do this?
13:06Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, replied,
13:09Rulers of the people and elders,
13:11if we are being examined today for a good deed done to a sick man,
13:17the means by which this man was healed.
13:20Let it be known to all of you,
13:22and to all the people of Israel,
13:24that, by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,
13:27whom you crucified,
13:28whom God raised from the dead,
13:31this man stands before you,
13:33healthy.
13:34This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you,
13:38the builders,
13:39that has become the cornerstone.
13:41There is salvation in no one else,
13:44for there is no other name under heaven,
13:47given among the people by which we must be saved.
13:52When they saw the boldness of Peter and John,
13:55discovering that they were uneducated and ordinary men,
13:59they were amazed,
14:01recognising that these men had been with Jesus.
14:05Because they saw the man who had been healed standing with them,
14:09they had nothing to say against this.
14:12But when they had ordered them to go outside the council,
14:15they began to confer with one another,
14:17saying, What should we do with these men?
14:20For it is plain to all who live in Jerusalem,
14:23that a notable, miraculous sign has come about through them.
14:27We cannot deny it.
14:30But to keep this matter from spreading any further,
14:33among the people,
14:34let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.
14:40So they called them in,
14:41and ordered them not to speak or teach at all
14:43in the name of Jesus.
14:45But Peter and John replied,
14:49Whether it is right before God to obey you rather than God,
14:53you must decide,
14:55for it is impossible for us not to speak
14:57about what we have seen and heard.
15:02Threatening them further,
15:04they released them,
15:05for they could not find how to punish them
15:08on account of the people,
15:09because they were all praising God for what had happened.
15:13For the man on whom this miraculous sign of healing
15:16had been performed,
15:17was over forty years old.
15:22When they were released,
15:23Peter and John went to their fellow believers
15:25and reported everything the high priests
15:27and the elders had said to them.
15:30When they heard this,
15:31they raised their voices to God with one mind and said,
15:34Master of all,
15:36you who made the heaven,
15:37the earth,
15:38the sea,
15:38and everything that is in them,
15:40who said by the Holy Spirit,
15:42through your servant David,
15:44our forefather,
15:44why do the peoples rage
15:47and the other peoples plot foolish things?
15:51The kings of the earth stood together
15:53and the rulers assembled together
15:55against the Lord and against Christ.
15:58For indeed,
15:59both Herod and Pontius Pilate,
16:01with the Gentiles and the people of Israel,
16:05assembled together in this city
16:06against your holy servant Jesus,
16:09whom you had anointed
16:11to do as much as your power
16:13and your plan had decided beforehand
16:15would happen.
16:17Now, Lord,
16:18pay attention to their threats,
16:20granting to your servants
16:21to speak your message
16:22with great coverage,
16:24while you extend your hand
16:26to heal
16:27and to bring about
16:28miraculous signs and wonders
16:31through the name of your holy servant,
16:34Jesus.
16:36When they had prayed,
16:37the place where they were assembled
16:39together was shaken
16:40and they were all filled
16:42with the Holy Spirit,
16:44speaking the word of God
16:46courageously.
16:48This is the word of the Lord.
16:51Thanks be to God.
17:04Now, according to your word,
17:07Sovereign Lord,
17:08permit your servant
17:09to depart in peace.
17:12For my eyes have seen
17:13your salvation
17:14that you have prepared
17:16in the presence of all peoples,
17:19a light for revelation
17:21to the Gentiles
17:22and for glory
17:23to your people Israel.
17:27Glory be to the Father
17:29and to the Son
17:30and to the Holy Spirit,
17:31as it was in the beginning,
17:33is now and ever shall be,
17:36world without end.
17:38Amen.
17:43I believe in God,
17:45the Father Almighty,
17:46maker of heaven and earth,
17:48and in Jesus Christ,
17:50his only Son,
17:51our Lord,
17:52who was conceived
17:53by the Holy Spirit,
17:55born of the Virgin Mary,
17:57suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
18:00was crucified,
18:02dead,
18:03and buried.
18:04He descended into hell.
18:06On the third day
18:07he rose again
18:08from the dead.
18:10He ascended into heaven
18:12and is sitting
18:13at the right hand
18:14of God,
18:15the Father Almighty.
18:17from there
18:18he shall come
18:18to judge
18:19the living
18:19and the dead.
18:22I believe
18:22in the Holy Spirit,
18:24the Holy Catholic Church,
18:26the communion
18:26of saints,
18:27the forgiveness
18:28of sins,
18:30the resurrection
18:31of the body,
18:32and the life
18:33everlasting.
18:35Amen.
18:40The Lord be with you
18:43and with your spirit.
18:47Let us pray.
18:50Lord, have mercy upon us.
18:54Christ, have mercy upon us.
18:58Lord, have mercy upon us.
19:05Our Father,
19:06who is in heaven,
19:08holy is your name.
19:11May your kingdom come.
19:13May your will be done
19:15on earth as it is in heaven.
19:18Give us this day
19:19our daily bread.
19:21Forgive us our trespasses
19:22as we forgive those
19:24who trespass against us.
19:27lead us not
19:28into temptation,
19:29but deliver us
19:31from evil.
19:33For yours
19:33is the kingdom,
19:35the power
19:36and the glory,
19:38for ever
19:38and ever.
19:40Amen.
19:45O Lord, show your mercy upon us
19:47and grant us
19:50your salvation.
19:53Protect and guide
19:55those in authority
19:56over us
19:58and mercifully hear us
20:01when we call upon you.
20:04Endue your ministers
20:05with righteousness
20:06and make your chosen people
20:10joyful.
20:12O Lord, save your people
20:15and bless your inheritance.
20:21give peace in our time,
20:23O Lord,
20:25because there is none other
20:26who fights for us
20:27but only you,
20:29O God.
20:31O God, make clean
20:33our hearts within us
20:36and take not
20:37your Holy Spirit
20:38from us.
20:46Let us pray.
20:50O God, the protector
20:51of all that trust in you,
20:53without whom nothing is strong,
20:55nothing is holy,
20:58increase and multiply
20:59upon us your mercy
21:00that you being
21:02our ruler and guide
21:03we may so pass
21:05through things temporal
21:06as we finally lose
21:08not the things eternal.
21:10Grant this, O Heavenly Father,
21:12for the Jesus Christ's sake,
21:15our Lord.
21:16Amen.
21:24O God,
21:25from whom
21:26all holy desires,
21:28all good counsels
21:29and all just works
21:31proceed,
21:32give to your servants
21:34that peace
21:34which the world
21:36cannot give,
21:37that our hearts
21:39may be set to obey
21:40your commandments
21:41and also that
21:43by you
21:44we,
21:45being defended
21:46from the fear
21:47of our enemies,
21:48may pass our time
21:49in rest and quietness.
21:52Through the merits
21:53of Jesus Christ,
21:54our Saviour.
21:56Amen.
22:19Almighty God,
22:21who has given us grace
22:22at this time
22:23with one accord
22:24to make our common
22:26supplications to you
22:27and promises
22:29that when two or three
22:30are gathered together
22:31in your name,
22:32you will grant
22:34their requests.
22:36Fulfill now,
22:38O Lord,
22:39the desires
22:39and petitions
22:40of your servants
22:41as may be most beneficial
22:44for them,
22:46granting us
22:46in this world
22:47knowledge of your truth
22:49and in the world
22:51to come
22:51life everlasting.
22:54Amen.
22:57May the grace
22:58of our Lord Jesus Christ
22:59and the love of God
23:00and the fellowship
23:02of the Holy Spirit
23:03be with us all
23:05evermore.
23:06Amen.
23:07Amen.
