00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:51The Lord's name be praised.
04:57Psalm 126
05:00When the Lord restored the well-being of Zion, we thought we were dreaming.
05:05At that time we laughed loudly and shouted for joy.
05:09At that time the nation said,
05:11The Lord has accomplished great things for these people.
05:15The Lord did indeed accomplish great things for us.
05:19We were happy.
05:21O Lord, restore our well-being, just as the streams in the arid south are replenished.
05:28Those who shed tears as they plant will shout for joy when they reap the harvest.
05:35The one who weeps as he walks along, carrying his bag of seed, will certainly come in with a shout
05:41of joy, carrying his sheaves of grain.
05:46Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
05:51As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
05:57Amen.
06:02Psalm 127
06:06If the Lord does not build a house, then those who build it work in vain.
06:12If the Lord does not guard a city, then the watchman stands guard in vain.
06:19It is vain for you to rise early, come home late, and work so hard for your food.
06:26Yes, he provides for those whom he loves, even when they sleep.
06:33Yes, sons are a gift from the Lord.
06:36The fruit of the room is a reward.
06:40Sons born during one's youth are like arrows in a warrior's hand.
06:46How blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them.
06:50He will not be put to shame when they confront enemies at the city gate.
06:55Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
07:00As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
07:06Amen.
07:10Psalm 128
07:14How blessed is every one of the Lord's loyal followers, each one who keeps his commands.
07:21You will eat what you worked so hard to grow.
07:25You will be blessed and secure.
07:28Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in the inner rooms of your house.
07:32Your children like olive branches as they sit around your table.
07:39Yes, indeed, the man who fears the Lord will be blessed in this way.
07:45May the Lord bless you from Zion, that you might see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life,
07:51and that you might see your grandchildren.
07:55May Israel experience peace.
08:00Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
08:04As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
08:11Amen.
08:16Psalm 129
08:19Since my youth, they have often attacked me, but they have not defeated me.
08:29The plowers ploughed my back, they made their furrows long.
08:34The Lord is just, he cut the ropes of the wicked.
08:38May all who hate Zion be humiliated and turned back.
08:44May they be like the grass on the rooftops, which withers before one can even pull it up,
08:50which cannot fill the reaper's hand or the lap of the one who gathers the grain.
08:57Those who pass by will not say,
09:00May you experience the Lord's blessing.
09:04We pronounce a blessing on you, in the name of the Lord.
09:10Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
09:14As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
09:21Amen.
09:25Psalm 130
09:28From the deep water I cry out to you, O Lord.
09:33O Lord, listen to me.
09:35Pay attention to my plea for mercy.
09:41If you, O Lord, were to keep track of sins, O Lord, who could stand before you?
09:48But you are willing to forgive, so that you might be honored.
09:53I rely on the Lord.
09:55I rely on Him with my whole being.
09:57I wait for His assuring word.
10:01I yearn for the Lord more than watchmen do for the morning.
10:05Yes, more than the watchmen for the morning.
10:10O Israel, hope in the Lord, for the Lord exhibits loyal love,
10:14and is more than willing to deliver.
10:17He will deliver Israel from all their sins.
10:22Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
10:27As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
10:33Amen.
10:39Psalm 131
10:42O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor do I have a haughty look.
10:48I do not have great aspirations, or concern myself with things that are beyond me.
10:55Indeed, I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child with its mother.
11:01I am content, like a young child.
11:05Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
11:09As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
11:16Amen.
11:24The Book of Esther, Chapter 5
11:28It so happened, that on the third day, Esther put on her royal attire,
11:34and stood in the inner court of the palace, opposite the king's quarters.
11:40The king was sitting on his royal throne in the palace, opposite the entrance.
11:46And when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, she met with his approval.
11:53The king extended to Esther the gold scepter that was in his hand.
11:58And Esther approached and touched the end of the scepter.
12:03The king said to her,
12:05What is on your mind, Queen Esther? What is your request?
12:09Even as much as half the kingdom will be given to you.
12:15Esther replied,
12:16If the king is so inclined, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet that I have prepared
12:23for him.
12:24The king replied,
12:26Find Haman quickly, so that we can do as Esther requests.
12:32So the king and Haman went to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
12:38While at the banquet of wine, the king said to Esther,
12:42What is your request? It shall be given to you.
12:45What is your petition?
12:47Ask for as much as half the kingdom, and it will be done.
12:54Esther responded,
12:56My request and my petition is this.
13:00If I have found favour in the king's sight,
13:02and if the king is inclined to grant my request and perform my petition,
13:06let the king and Haman come tomorrow to the banquet I will prepare for them.
13:11At that time I will do as the king wishes.
13:18Now Haman went forth that day, pleased and very much encouraged.
13:24But when Haman saw Mordecai at the king's gate, and he did not rise or tremble in his presence,
13:31Haman was filled with rage toward him.
13:35But Haman restrained himself, and he went on to his home.
13:40He then sent for his friends to join him, along with his wife, Zeresh.
13:45Haman then recounted to them his fabulous wealth, his many sons, and how the king had magnified and exalted him
13:53over the king's other officials and servants.
13:58He said,
13:59Furthermore, Queen Esther invited only me to accompany the king to the banquet she had prepared.
14:06And also tomorrow I am invited along with the king.
14:11Yet all this fails to satisfy me, as long as I have to see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the
14:17king's gate.
14:20Haman's wife, Zeresh, and his friends said to him,
14:24Have a gallows seventy-five feet high built, and in the morning tell the king that Mordecai should be hanged
14:30on it.
14:32Then go with the king to the banquet contented.
14:36This seemed like a good idea to Haman, and so he had the gallows built.
14:43This is the word of the Lord.
14:46Thanks be to God.
15:01Mary said,
15:03My soul exalts the Lord, and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
15:10because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
15:15For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
15:20because he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
15:26From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
15:33He has demonstrated power with his arm.
15:36He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
15:42He has brought down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up those of lowly position.
15:49He has filled the hungry with good things, and has sent the rich away empty.
15:55He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercy, as he promised to our ancestors,
16:03to Abraham, and to his descendants for ever.
16:08Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
16:13as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
16:20Amen.
16:28The First Epistle of St John, Chapter 2
16:33Little children, it is the last hour.
16:37As you were given word that the Antichrist would come,
16:40so now a number of Antichrists have come to you.
16:45By this we are certain that it is the last hour.
16:49They went out from us, but they were not of us.
16:53If they had been of us, they would still be with us.
16:57But they went out from us, so that it might be made clear they were not of us.
17:03You have the Spirit from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.
17:09I have not sent this letter to you because you have no knowledge of what is true,
17:15but because you have knowledge, and because that which is false
17:20has nothing in common with that which is true.
17:24Who is false, but he who says that Jesus is not the Christ.
17:29He is the Antichrist, who has no belief in the Father or the Son.
17:35He who has no belief in the Son has not the Father.
17:40He who makes clear his belief in the Son has the Father.
17:44But as for you, keep in your hearts the things which were made clear to you from the first.
17:51If you keep these things in your hearts, you will be kept in the Father and in the Son.
17:57This is the hope which he gave you, even eternal life.
18:04I am writing these things to you about those whose purpose is that you may be turned out of the
18:10true way.
18:13As for you, the Spirit which he gave you is still in you, and you have no need of any
18:18teacher.
18:20But as his Spirit gives you teaching about things, and is true and not false,
18:36So that at his revelation, we may have no fear or shame before him at his coming.
18:44If you have knowledge that he is upright, it is clear to you that everyone who does righteousness is his
18:52offspring.
18:54This is the word of the Lord.
18:57Thanks be to God.
19:11Now according to your word, Sovereign Lord,
19:14permit your servant to depart in peace.
19:18For my eyes have seen your salvation,
19:20that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
19:25a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
19:28and for glory to your people Israel.
19:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
19:38as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
19:42world without end.
19:44Amen.
19:49I believe in God the Father Almighty,
19:53maker of heaven and earth,
19:54and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
19:58who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
20:01born of the Virgin Mary,
20:03suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
20:07was crucified, dead, and buried.
20:10He descended into hell.
20:13On the third day he rose again from the dead.
20:16He ascended into heaven,
20:18and is sitting at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
20:23From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
20:28I believe in the Holy Spirit,
20:30the Holy Catholic Church,
20:32the communion of saints,
20:34the forgiveness of sins,
20:36the resurrection of the body,
20:38and the life everlasting.
20:41Amen.
20:46The Lord be with you,
20:49and with your spirit.
20:53Let us pray.
20:57Lord, have mercy upon us.
21:00Christ, have mercy upon us.
21:05Lord, have mercy upon us.
21:11Our Father, who is in heaven,
21:15holy is your name.
21:17May your kingdom come.
21:19May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
21:24Give us this day our daily bread.
21:27Forgive us our trespasses,
21:29as we forgive those who trespass against us.
21:33Lead us not into temptation,
21:36but deliver us from evil.
21:39For yours is the kingdom,
21:41the power and the glory,
21:44for ever and ever.
21:46Amen.
21:51O Lord, show your mercy upon us,
21:55and grant us your salvation.
22:00Protect and guide those in authority over us,
22:05and mercifully hear us when we call upon you.
22:10And you, your ministers with righteousness,
22:14and make your chosen people joyful.
22:19O Lord, save your people,
22:23and bless your inheritance.
22:27Give peace in our time, O Lord,
22:31because there is none other who fights for us,
22:34but only you, O God.
22:37O God, make clean our hearts within us,
22:42and take not your Holy Spirit from us.
22:53Let us pray.
22:56O God, the protector of all that trust in you,
23:00without whom nothing is strong,
23:02nothing is holy,
23:04increase and multiply upon us your mercy,
23:08that you being our ruler and guide,
23:10we may so pass through things temporal,
23:13as we finally lose not the things eternal.
23:16Grant this, O Heavenly Father,
23:19for that Jesus Christ's sake,
23:21our Lord.
23:22Amen.
23:30O God, from whom all holy desires,
23:34all good counsels,
23:36and all just works proceed,
23:38give to your servants that peace
23:41which the world cannot give,
23:43that our hearts may be set to obey your commandments,
23:48and also that, by you,
23:50we, being defended from the fear of our enemies,
23:54may pass our time in rest and quietness,
23:58through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
24:01Amen.
24:07Lighten our darkness,
24:08we beseech you, O Lord,
24:10and by your great mercy defend us all
24:13from perils and dangers of this night.
24:17For the love of your only Son,
24:19our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
24:22Amen.
24:26Almighty God,
24:27who has given us grace at this time with one accord,
24:31to make our common supplications to you,
24:34and promises that when two or three are gathered together in your name,
24:39you will grant their requests.
24:43Fulfill now, O Lord,
24:45the desires and petitions of your servants,
24:48as may be most beneficial for them,
24:52granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
24:55and in the world to come,
24:58life everlasting.
25:00Amen.
25:03With the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
25:06and the love of God,
25:07and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
25:09be with us all evermore.
25:12Amen.
