00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest Met Office weather forecast.
00:03The cloudy sky is continuing for much of England and Wales this afternoon, but for a good chunk
00:09of Scotland and Northern Ireland we continue with the sunshine here, just like what we
00:13saw on Saturday.
00:15So for this afternoon you can see plenty of cloud around across the main bulk of England
00:19and Wales, although the cloud may well just start to thin later on across parts of South
00:24East England and East Anglia.
00:26But for much of Scotland, eastern parts of Northern Ireland here is where we see the
00:30best of the sunshine, however out towards the west we've got this next weather front beginning
00:34to try and push in, giving in some cloud and some outbreaks of rain here.
00:39Temperatures for most of us reaching double figures, if we see any brightness down towards
00:42the south east we could see highs here reaching 13 or 14 degrees, similarly across the very
00:47far north of Scotland we could just see a few spots here reaching the low teens.
00:52Into this evening, very little changes really, lots of cloud around, the cloud continuing
00:57to spread its way northwards, so any clear skies across Scotland becoming very limited
01:01to the very far north of the country and again the cloud will be thick enough in places especially
01:06across more western and northern parts of the country to begin some spots of rain and also
01:11lowering it at times to give quite a lot of mist and murk around across the country.
01:15So if you do have any travel plans overnight, just do allow some extra time for your journeys
01:19because there could be plenty of murk around.
01:22But the cloud will act like a blanket, so for most of us it's certainly not going to be
01:26a cold night by any means.
01:28Maybe just a touch of frost if we do hang on to some clearer skies across the very far north
01:32of Scotland.
01:34So for much of the UK on Monday morning it's a great start, again some outbreaks of rain
01:40especially across more western and northern parts of the country, a very different start
01:44really for Scotland after a weekend of sunshine, plenty of cloud here.
01:48Where reversely down towards south east England, east Anglia, I'm more hopeful that we will
01:52see some sunshine breaking through the cloud here, so maybe some brighter skies here but still
01:57the risk of a few sherry outbreaks of rain developing and then later on up towards the far north
02:03west of Scotland we could just see some sunshine return here.
02:07For most of us temperatures similar to what we see today but down towards the south east
02:10if we do see the sunshine break through we could see highs here reaching 16 or 17 degrees.
02:17Then a quick look at the rest of the week, Tuesday is going to be pretty similar again, plenty
02:22of cloud around but then we start to see the Atlantic begin to bring in weather fronts across
02:26much of the UK so most of us seeing plenty of wet weather especially on a Thursday and then later
02:32on as we head into Friday we start to see the winds begin to come in from the north bringing
02:37something a little bit colder maybe even the risk of some winteriness returning across the hills
02:41across the north but you can find out more information about the weather for the week ahead
02:45on our social media channels but for me for now take care and I'll see you again soon.
