00:34on the town hall man uh i thought there was a lot of juice for it wasn't a packed house

00:42personalities with the giants right now brandon they're so much better than they've been the head
00:47coach pumping his fist during a cowboy suck chant uh saying he wants to kick the cowboys ass
00:54uh the players you could tell feel looser because the head coach is looser uh cave on saying he hates
01:01the cowboys i thought there was a lot of juice a lot of personality with this giants team which hasn't
01:06been the case the last couple years and one thing i've learned about john harbaugh so far who i met

01:11the first time is there's that looseness but when it's time to lock in and get down to business all
01:19of the players and and staff around the building feel as though that he is the guy that's brought
01:24in a structure that's never been seen before or at least in recent years at least so it's going to

01:30very interesting to see how hardball one runs these otas and how much he can get out of a lot

01:37players on this team that we feel as though were untapped last year and it all starts with these

02:08uh brandon so like it's a great chance for any receiver who wasn't here last year to build
02:14chemistry with jackson dart so to me that starts with like darnell mooney uh malachi fields calvin
02:23austin i think those guys have a great chance to uh solidify their spot the depth charts wide open
02:29after neighbors and neighbors might not play in september so uh who's going to lead the team in
02:34catches i think there's a great chance to build chemistry with dart um other guys that come to
02:40mind are jalen hyatt and deontay banks two guys who desperately needed a new coaching staff fresh
02:45starts uh javon holland a guy who uh was a huge free agent splash shining last offseason it wasn't
02:55the ball hawk he was advertised as well harbaugh's defenses always have ed reed kyle hamilton um
03:03eric well they always have a playmate in safety yeah so those guys and then i'll throw in one more
03:09name for you micah mcfadden i think a guy coming off injury uh everybody's kind of acting like arvel
03:15reese and tremaine edmonds are locked in as the starting linebackers they are but micah mcfadden
03:21was a pretty good player before his season ending injury too so he could prove that he belongs on the
03:25field too at the united way event last week when brian burns was getting the hometown hero award when i
03:31interviewed him and i was talking i was naming out the linebackers he made it a point to mention
03:37micah mcfadden he said mc he threw mc fatty a lot of people are sleeping on my a healthy micah

03:44so i believe that this giants linebacker unit is i think it's the best unit or core group on this
03:50football team right now you also threw in in the article tyrone tracy jr scats coming back from that
03:57ankle injury and he's going to be full go in training camp and at the start of the season
04:02who do you think is going to get the bulk of the carries out of the two to start the
04:07season who is
04:08your rb1 so if you ask cam scadaboo it's cam scadaboo because he told us last night in the crowd
04:15that he
04:15wants 300 carries for 2 000 yards okay in 17 plus games which is basically predicting a playoff berth
04:22uh obviously those would be derrick henry-esque numbers uh no one would be talking about
04:29saquon barkley if cam scadaboo did that i mean we're talking about a guy who had 100 carries for
04:34400 yards and five touchdowns last year before he got hurt so that would be quite the jump uh
04:39i don't know that they have a running back one i don't think they think they have a running back
04:43one they flirted with signing kenneth walker in free agency until that price got high
04:48um they flirted with jeremiah lovey i think he would have been the pick at five if he was there
04:53in the first round of the draft uh so i don't think they have think they have that i think

04:57going to be a true you know 50 50 45 45 5 if you throw in devon singletary or uh
05:04a carry or two or
05:05catch or two for uh patrick ricard um the fullback so i think it's going to be a true backfield

05:12committee if i had to guess at the end of the day i would guess kim scadaboo but i don't

05:16there's going to be a saquon barkley 80 20 share here i think you're looking at close to 50 50
05:22you mentioned earlier jaylen hyatt and deontay banks it's two guys like you said a regime change
05:30can be both good and bad for certain guys and i feel as though these are two guys that got
05:34a lot
05:34to prove throughout the course of this spring because what you do or what you put on the tape
05:39in the spring is only going to hurt or help you going into the summer you're going to know where
05:44you
05:44fall or what this team thinks of you on the by placing you where they place you on the depth
05:50chart by what you did in the spring so which one if not both do you feel like has the
05:56better path or
05:58or even chance to make the 53 man roster i think it's deontay banks if you ask people around the
06:04league
06:05they think he's going to have the longer career the longest career between banks hyatt and evan
06:10the three huge busts on the roster uh he's banks has had the better career of the three so far
06:16and
06:16that's not saying much it's one good season uh but it happened under wink martindale this defense
06:22could be kind of similar to wink martindale's and the depth chart i mean jaylen hyatt is if you put
06:29neighbors in slayton and calvin austin and malachi fields and darnell mooney then hyatt's what no better
06:36than the sixth receiver and that guy usually has to play a lot of special teams so that could be
06:41and i didn't count isaiah hodgins so like hyatt's facing an uphill battle deontay banks as bad as
06:49he's been the last two years he's probably still cornerback four or five like adebo one newsom and
06:57hood two and three phillips in the slot and then banks right so uh i would say if i had
07:05to do a 53
07:05man roster projection right now i'd probably have banks on it as the last corner you forgot
07:10a corner and a free agent person they brought from baltimore darius washington so he's a hard
07:17buyer guy as well so thanks no he's on it yeah he's either like a backup slot or a safety

07:24be in that dane belt he might be in that dane belton role okay all right all right so either

07:29tell people all the time when you show up into that uh into that practice facility you better put your
07:35best foot forward especially when there's a new regime that's come in and they brought their guys
07:40they brought guys who already understand their culture and their x's and o's so those are going
07:45to be some very interesting battles uh to watch throughout the course of the spring and the summer
07:50let's riverside it who has something or the most to lose in these spring ota sessions
07:59well the most to lose i'll start with two big names i don't expect either of these things to
08:05happen but like you know something to lose john runyon jr like the giants signed all these guards
08:12thinking they were going to piece together right guard so they signed daniel falele and re-signed
08:17evan neal re-signed josh azudu re-signed aaron stinney signed lucas patrick thinking they were going
08:23to all like mishmash the right guard and then they drafted francis maunoa who's going to start
08:28at right guard so now they have all these extra guards are they all backups what if one of them
08:32plays equal to in the preseason starting today in otas with john runyon jr could they steal left guard
08:41because if the giants wanted to move on from john runyon jr they'd open up 9.25 million in salary

08:47savings to me play the best player it's clearly runyon but if he didn't have a you know strong
08:53on camp he could be the surprise guy they move on from don't think it'll happen but he's got
08:59something to lose if he doesn't play well uh cave on tibodeau same kind of thing do i think he'll

09:35washington i'm counting ardarius washington as a backup slot right now could he win the job away

09:52they're the incumbents but the giants just signed dj reader shelby howis lakai photo zach pickens and
09:58drafted bobby james and travis so where do roy robertson harris and chauncey golston end up on
10:03the depth chart the depth chart's what i'm really excited to see thursday and then the kicking battle
10:08everybody assumes jason sanders is the guy because he had a you know seven-year career with the
10:14dolphins made a pro bowl he's a guy we've seen make big kicks but it's an open battle harbaugh said

10:19couple times dominic zavada the undrafted rookie remember once upon a time that was justin tucker
10:25uh for harbaugh and uh ben sauls the incumbent guy so i think that's a three-way battle so usually

10:38practice i'll have to actually watch it this year the name the read to or the most retweetable name
10:42that you just mentioned obviously kvon i got a chance to talk to him for a little bit in the
10:47green room excited about this season still doing his wrestling thing did some like leverage type
10:52things on how to how to tackle or wrap up uh he stole the show last night when he at

10:59when he spoke about the defense and what we can expect from him this season so here's kvon and then
11:06uh we'll we'll talk right after i think that i think that first is actually funny for those who
11:11been watching the no ball you know this is similar to the defense we ran when uh wick was here

11:53denard wilson the wink's defense tay banks had a solid rookie season under wink martindale
11:59kvon had his career year under wink martindale the fans were excited when they heard wink's name
12:07and the comparison so do you feel as though denard wilson and his schemes can re-unlock
12:14kvon thibodeau yeah i do uh now what i don't want to see is kvon thibodeau because it's his contract
12:22year and he mentioned the 10 and a half sacks and look we're guilty of this as media people we

12:27him about sacks every week nobody ever asks him about his run defense he's the best edge setting
12:33edge setting edge whatever he's the best against setting the edge against the run that the giants
12:38have on the outside uh with all due respect to burns and carter who are great pass rushers
12:43that kvon's gotten a lot better at that and i think he's the best on the team at that so
12:47like i
12:47don't want to see him sacrifice that to chase sacks um but i do think this defense will fit him
12:54better i do think um if i had to guess i would say he's probably still the starter ahead of
13:02abdul carter
13:02as a respect thing um they'll all play so uh yes i do think that this defense is going to
13:12be similar
13:13to winks the ravens lineage through mike mcdonald through uh all those guys uh i wink you know all
13:21those guys under harbaugh anthony weaver i do think it'll be similar and i think that is good news for
13:27both banks as it'll be kind of go cover your man without a lot of thinking and cave on as
13:34in he'll
13:35be freed up a little bit to pass rush aggressively do do you hear that coming through my ifb right

13:41you hear that that's music to my ears thank you man is it a little positivity have i ever been

13:50positive oh man music because like if you have uh and i feel as a wide receiver and you're scheming
13:57up against our offense if you have the pass rush that you have and guys are playing five six yards
14:02off the ball in terms of uh dbs you're playing five six yards off of me we're not going down

14:08field we're just going to hitch it hitch it get the ball out fast and you can have as many

14:12generated pressures as you want but they're not sacks they're not and unless they affected the
14:19decision maker the quarterback then that's going to be a completed ball so i'd like to see a little
14:23bit press action or at least pressing bell to allow that front seven to get after a quarterback and
14:30then like you said when the ball is in the air please turn your head locate the football and make
14:35a
14:35play on the football but it's it's defense it's runner pass that's just just play the schemes it's
14:41easy and i hope denar wilson can get the most out of these guys all right schedule release was last
14:47week free agency it's done the draft it's over right when we're filming this or recording this
14:54otas are currently in session here's john harbaugh last night about not being politically correct when
15:03talking about the nfc east and kicking the cowboys ass on primetime tv game one
15:11how confident are you coach that going into this season we'll go into those dallas games
15:17those eagles games and those commanders games and we'll take them down
15:27you know i'll be nice and politically correct i could care less about what's happened last year
15:34or the year before that or 10 years before i don't get a crap about any of them not one
15:41bit all i care
15:42about is tomorrow's practice because if tomorrow's practice is the way it's supposed to be that'll be
15:47one more step in the direction of being a good enough football team to kick the cowboys ass
15:56this dude deserves his own netflix roast like he is that's why i paid him 20 million he is
16:02entertainment just imagine if he and james had their own podcast or something or their own tv show
16:08they belong life after football for them if they want to do tv it's the i would love to pair

16:14up all right but back to the question at hand john harbaugh's giants will finish the 2026 season

16:37highest i've done brandon i've been doing this nine years i've never picked them to win nine seven
16:41games in a season i've always been six or less so seven for me is optimistic uh i think the

16:49the second half of the year is brutal for me the giants need to play interesting games in september in
16:56uh november before they can even think about playing interesting games in december there's been two and
17:01six or two and seven at the trade deadline the last four years so lara the three of the last

17:07in like six of the last seven years like that has to stop you have to be stopped being buried

17:12by halloween by whatever they call columbus day now into indigenous people's day like they have to be
17:19stopped being buried by then and so i think they will i think there's a two and two star and
