00:45backs active to share the workload I mean just look at some of the running back duels in Baltimore
00:51under Harbaugh you had JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards Ray Rice and Willis
00:59McGahee for a throwback even Derrick Henry split some of the carries during his tenure in Baltimore
01:05but the headliners in this Giants backfield are Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Cam Scadaboo and again this
01:14is for the battle of the RB1 title on paper here's what each guy brings to the table skill set

01:22that gives him a chance to take the title and we'll start with Tyrone Tracy Jr. 2025 season got off

01:30slow start and eventually took over as the lead back 176 carries 740 yards two touchdowns on the ground
01:38plus 36 catches for 288 yards and two more touchdowns through the air we're talking about a fifth round
01:46pick in 2024 who's now put together back-to-back 1,000 yard from scrimmage seasons that puts this man
01:55in exclusive company when it comes to the Giants only OBJ and Saquon Barkley have done that in each of
02:03their first two seasons as a Giant pass catching is his separator though he's a true dual threat back
02:10and he's not just a runner it's the versatility I feel like that he brings to an offense that could
02:17make Matt Nagy give him the title but let's not forget about Cam Scadaboo and what he brings to this
02:25offense and to the table rookie season came to an end because of injury but before that 410 rushing
02:33yards five touchdowns on just 101 carries that's over four yards of pop and limited work he also
02:40caught 24 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns as well he's physical has a high energy running style
02:49brings a contact balance that we saw in that run against Dallas week two and has a finish the run
02:56mentality the Giants haven't had at that position in years he is the fan favorite it's the
03:02backflips the attitude the whoa all that brings the juice to an offense and a fan base that's needed
03:10it for quite some time he's healthy now and he's going into camp hungry to prove a lot of doubters
03:16wrong and shut some people up and I mentioned to you guys earlier how John Harbaugh and the NFL
03:23has morphed from just one lead back to a two-back system so again they're going to be fighting for
03:30the RB1 title but they're both going to open the season in my opinion with comparable carries
03:36and usage you have to have two or maybe even three capable backs in the NFL to have a successful

03:44game the blueprint when the Lions had both Jameer Gibbs and David Montgomery arguably the league's best
03:52running back by committee the last three years Gibbs was the explosive playmaker Montgomery was the
03:59closer they combined for nearly 2200 yards and 28 touchdowns and that's just in 2024 alone what we're
04:09seeing around the league is teams increasingly pairing one every down back with one specialist rather than
04:18splitting the carries 50-50 it's about deploying the right skill set for the right situation not just
04:25pretty much just managing snaps it's going to be on Giants running back coach Willie Taggart and
04:31offensive coordinator Matt Nagy to identify and use these dudes skill set effectively to give them the
04:39chance to battle it out in training camp for the RB1 title but in today's NFL I think we all
04:46can agree
